Another four weeks another challenge.

Hi there, I'm Korranation! Long time lurker and fellow rebel Adventurer.

I recently degree in higher learning, and like most graduates, I didn't get a job straight out of college.

I'm here to level up into the world of adulting. And I like my challenges like I like my life... filled with relatable memes, funny gif, and bad puns. 

 

I've been laxing in my routine so I need to kick things up a notch. I'm here to go from this

Week 01 DAY 04?

 

I sorta started this week off a little late and have been forgetting to post. My bad. 

 

I ran two nights in a row with the dog using Zombies Run. We're in week three and it is kicking out butts. I'm having to run for a full sixty seconds and after not walking for a week I'm really feeling the hurt. I'm going back to the "Fit for Battle" app since I can take a slower pace and get back my stamina before my next zombie mission. I won't be able to go for a walk this evening since I'm doing the late shift at work. 

 

There's been a lot more healthy eating in the house. That's mainly thanks to my dad. He got in a cooking mood and we've had marinated new york strips with boxed mashed potatoes that thankfully have fewer carbs but are just as filling as regular potatoes. And breaded chicken with cornbread stuffing. We made so much that there were plenty of leftovers for the past few days and I've been eating healthy with that. Again, since I'm working a late shift, I'm missing out on another awesome meal. But I'll be stepping up to the plate tomorrow for the next dish since he's going to be the one working. 

 

I'm doing my best with the schedule rest rule. I've gotten to bed before 10:30 and unwinded with a good book. I picked up the book "Elantris" after reading the first book in the Mistborn series. I've been going to be before midnight instead of 11 since I start feeling tired around that time. I still find it hard to get out of bed before 8 though. I literally lay there with my eyes wide open, getting in sunlight, and still seeing my dream playing. This morning's dream had something to do with me being a James Bond figure and there was a dragon and at some point, I saved Johnny Depp while he was in full Captain Jack Sparrow attire. 

 

As for job applications, I had to put them on hold today. I got a text from my friend who knows the hiring manager of the company and was willing to be a personal reference for. Somehow my application got lost in their list of applicants. I know that there were over 100 applicants that applied thanks to the premium linked in membership statistics, but I know one cannot simply misplace a third parties information. I'm not sure if it was the hiring manager or my friend who was doing the misguiding, so I played along. I sent her a screen shot of the time stamp of my application. So she gave me the email of the recruiter so I could personally give her my resume. I spent the rest of the day looking up courses to get knowledgeable about based on the companies job description. I'm so nervous about it though since a few people who applied have master's degrees in business administration/ hr and I've got little experience (but a lot of knows how) of what they're asking for. For the rest of the week, it will be nothing but hr courses and videos. 

 

I also had to sketch out my habit tracker for my bullet journal since I've been behind on that. I went through the past months of habit trackers and see what did and didn't work and applied those to my new one even though this month will be over soon. That gives me about a week and a half to see how these habits go so I can flesh out an even better tracker for next month. 

 

I'm not feeling the habit RPG thing. Don't get me wrong. I love checking off everything on the dailies and getting a lot of loot in return thanks to the rogue perks I have. However, I don't like the current party I'm in. They're a group from when I was with the Rising Heroes portion of NF. And since I've been with them they've started at least two boss battles without me which meant I missed out on a lot of xp, loot, and team building. Plus they don't chat much on the party's board or follow up on members that have been inactive for a few days. I can't exactly leave the group since I'm the one that started it and am the current party leader.

You should be able to assign party leadership to someone else and then you can leave.

 

You seem to be doing pretty good so far. Keep up the good work!

Oops. Looks like week 1 is already done and we're halfway into week 2. And so far I've failed fantastically.

I've been getting so much flak from the folks about the lack of a career and how I need to be up and ready before the sun that I'm too stressed to contemplate working out in the morning.

Dinners have been up in the air since everyone has been going off the stepmoms schedule. She doesn't get home till 1900 so by the time everyone has eaten it's too late for an evening walk with the doge.

I am able to shut off my laptop before 10 but end up browsing on my phone past midnight from the wonderful job lead failures. At this point, my brain is reminding me of all the negative or embarrassing things I've done in the past (from grade school to present), my heart starts racing, and I'm taking short sharp breaths. This only lasts a few seconds, but it's becoming more frequent during the day.

I don't even do duolingo anymore. It's one of those things I put on the back burner and say I'll do at the end of the day when everything else on my checklist is done, but I have so many things on the back burners and irons in the fire that my metaphorical kitchen is always in flames every day

I am able to turn my laptop off on time, but end up staying up for more hours than I'd like to admit browsing on my phone looking at dank memes and stuff. It distracts me from the mild anxiety I've self-prescribed. Guess that means I need to find a new book to read. "Elantris" is a little too immersive and convoluted with their world building lingo and terminology.

Every morning I wake up to an alarm clock is a morning I try and fight the dream monster. I turn off the alarm on my phone, fall asleep with my eyes wide open and vividly hallucinate for the next half hour. This is most likely since the app I use goes off half an hour before I need to wake up to "slowly" and naturally wake me up. 

I've also forgotten about my bujo despite my simplistic approach I took to last weeks layout. I have been falsely checking off all the tasks on the habit RPG app. If I don't or forget about it, my character ends up dead the next day thanks to crazy to do list I made.

Seriously. I would sit down with them and talk about everything you've been doing to find a job. Like, go over how many applications you've filled out and resumes you've sent. This is not good for your health to have them being over the top critical. 

 

In regards to the walk with the doge - can you go before dinner if you are eating later?

Stop.

Breath.

 

Write a letter to tour folks explaining what you've done to find a job. Explain that with breathing down your neck like that you'll only get mor anxious and decrease your chance to find a job (no one wants an already stressed employee).

Even if you don't let them read the letter it will help you get things in perspective.

You are strong, you are awesome and you are worthy of an amazing life <3
