DarK_RaideR
On a more serious note, unless you're competing (like @EricMN does) OCRs are more about making it to the finish line, at least the first couple of times. Then it's about tackling the obstacles and of course it's always about having fun. You can always take breaks, jog or walk from obstacle to obstacle so don't worry about that. I'd say you'd better focus on strength and the technique that will allow you to deal with certain obstacles first. There's a nice accountability group that might assist you and others down the muddy path. 9 Quote Lvl 54 Multitasker Link to comment

Elennare
Does anyone know an anti-rain dance? I seriously need one. Last night my area broke the record for most rain between Oct 1 and the end of April, we're over a foot above average rainfall for that time frame, AND it's supposed to keep raining the rest of the week (and maybe beyond?)! I would really like to be able to use water in my house again... Stupid septic tank. Is there a point where housing reaches a saturation where it becomes more expensive to have one little section of an area that's not on the sewer lines? Because the developments on either side of us have sewer, there's more houses going in in both directions, and it would be nice if they would just decide to connect everything up so my house can have sewer as well. 2 Quote Wood Elf Waywatcher Mandalorian (Assassin/Ranger hybrid) Link to comment

Tell it to staaaaahp [emoji32] I'm not a big fan of alcohol, but I may have discovered my favorite alcoholic drink by accident when I was trying to get over being sick. Was making myself a hot toddy, but decided to use Tazo sweet wild orange for the tea. Couldn't reach the shelf with the booze without pulling out the step stool (which was way too much work), so I asked Husband to get it for me. Asked for rum, but it was way in the back and Irish whiskey came out first. So I used that (which I think is the more traditional booze in a hot toddy anyway? I don't know, I've had people make me them with rum, vodka, and whiskey, so I really have no idea what's the "right" way to make one). It was seriously delicious. So I'll have one of those! And don't skimp on the honey. [emoji4] THIS. I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE. I think I have Mandarin Honeybush and some Fireball. Also some Turmeric Ginger. Maybe some Dragon's Breath will do this thing in... *thunder rumbles over head* Yeah, the rain craziness is hanging out in the Midwest too. Tanktimus the Encourager
Rangers, week 1 has been severely beaten and now needs years of therapy to recover. Week 2 is before us. Our theme today is definition. I can hear you thinking, "Chap, what kind of battle cry is definition?" Well, for one thing, if you have seen an unabridged dictionary in print lately, it makes one heck of a weapon. The real reason I bring it up is because we define ourselves. We may sometimes let others define us, but that is only because we choose to accept they definitions we think they are giving us and making them our own. I've always been a 50/50 guy on the nature vs nurture debate, but perhaps it's time to suggest 30/30/40, between nature, nurture, and choices. Personality theorists don't often take personal choices into account when discussing where our personalities derive. I am not one of those, I'm simply telling you that you have the power to define yourself. Don't like something about yourself? Change your definition, then do the work to make that definition reality. The messages we tell ourselves have great bearing on who we think we are, and consequently how we act. Tell yourself "I'm worthless" a whole bunch and you'll find you don't feel motivated to do healthy things becuase you don't feel like you're worth it. Tell yourself "I'm a good and healthy person" all the time and you might just find you make better choices becuase you are a healthy person, and that is what healthy people do. The secret to my encouragement powers is that I can help people see the best in themselves and help them change their self definitions. So let me try this on you. You don't have to believe this about yourself, just start out by believing I believe it. You are a good person. You are strong. You are fast. You are flexible. You are awesome. You do not quit. You do not give in. You face your challenges head on, charge them and overcome them. YOU ARE A RANGER! 15 Quote Current Challenge "By the Most-Righteous-and-Blessed Beard of Sir Tanktimus the Encourager!" - Jarl Rurik Harrgath Link to comment
Rhovaniel
Love all of this, Tank. Especially the thing about defining yourself. It's something I struggle with alot, but it's so so true.
