This challenge I will be channelling one of my favourite Disney women: Fa Mulan. While not technically a Princess, she is brave and strong and beautiful. She starts weak and works on herself to become a strong enough soldier to defend all of China. She’s pretty damn BadAss. As such I will be theming my regular goals around Mulan.

Eat like a warrior (freggies, protein):

In order to perform I need to maintain good eating habits. Continuing the 5-a-day freggie habit and bringing in the a-protein-with-every-meal habit. This could take many forms… meat, eggs, cheese, protein shake etc. Haven’t decided if we’re bringing back the Whole30, not likely seeing as we have a wedding to go to, my birthday, a concert which we’ll be staying with Mr’s Mum and sister… Actually thinking about it that’s going to be a ‘no’ on the Whole30, but good choices where possible. Marked x/5, x/3 daily.

Training to defeat the Huns (gym):

In 2.5 weeks will be my 25th birthday. I want to lift my bodyweight (70kg). I’ve been making steady increases in my weekly deadlift (46kg, 57.5kg, 65kg), and expect to continue this trend to at least 1RM my bodyweight. Only 5kgs to go, totally possible. Other than that, I will continue going to ROAR 3/week and BigLift+Boxing 1/week. Where possible I’ll tag along with Mr to any weekend sessions he goes to. Note: I will be aiming for 70kg even if my bodyweight goes down between now and then (I’ve lost 10kg since when I started at the gym in August down from 80kg, technically I should lose another 5-10 to fall in healthy for my height, but I want to start packing on some muscle, and we all know the scale lies about that). Marked running total x/4 per week. Birthday Deadlift PR is its own mark.

As of Wednesday of zero week I will have completed the Business subject, but will have the second half of my Chinese Mandarin class to go (through to 5th June). I will continue to keep up with classes and homework too. I have two written tests upcoming and plenty more to learn, online quizzes and the such. Marking: All classes attended (3/week). Homework on 5days a week marked x/5.

Side note: She's doing this with her left hand, which is hellah hard... you're almost better to just learn to write characters with your right because its so hard to follow the strokes and not get mega-smudged. Side-side note, I don't know all of these characters, but I see the depictions of woman, fire, people/person and sun. Huzzah for knowing some tiny things!

 

Bonus goal~ Who is that girl I see?

Skin-care erry day. I get topical eczema in one of my eyebrows and on one of my ears (lovely). It's not very noticeable, but goes away when I take proper care of my skin, so proper care I shall take. Daily cleanse and moisturizing cream to banish the eczema and the beginning of lines from living a quarter century. Mark daily Y/N.

Monday week zero~ I got super jelly of someone's BuJo tracker I saw so I made one to try and keep up with ^_^ it's a little weird to have a mix of daily tracking and weekly tracking on the same table, but it works ok.

Smoothie with kale and berries, protein was meant to be from the almond milk (but later when I read the pack protein is pretty low in that stuff, marking as success in this instance and not again), chicken with spinach and a red capscicum (bell pepper), chicken pasta with pasta sauce and spinach mixed through. 6/5, 3/3. Also bought a thing of protein powder since the almond milk doesn't have as much protein as I would like in it.

Public Holiday, so no biglifts and boxing run... still went and did squats and farmers carries and bar hangs. On squats did 10@20, 30,35&40 and 6@45 with good form. Farmers carried for 50m with 20kg kettle bell in each hand. Seeing as it was a public holiday I went in the afternoon as I didn't have work, so I could go together with Mr.

OH MAN That is beyond epic, I totally thought it was a bujo page cause dots!!!! I should have guessed cause post its - I thought they were teeny!! LOL We have a white board map of Murca for a writingn project we're trying to tackle. It's part of my - clean up office task to deal with this challenge.... mayyybeee....

In the case of a Zombie apocalypse and the fall of society as we know it, it might take us a little while to get to your balcony. Soo expect us in, say, 20 years.

Tuesday, Zero Week~ Sharks in my belly, so called out of work to nurse them with heatpacks and lies about my intent to reproduce. Went to the gym and that made me feel somewhat better, so went to the gym with Mr to spot him and again in the evening for a form check on my deadlifts with the PT. Three gym visits on the same day, on a grouchy, tummy hurty day? Who am I? Otherwise ate pretty well and been chipping away at this assessment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

BuJo. How can I have three 'gym's ticked off on day 2? Because ranger, that's why. Have also added sections for the mini (how convenient that I had that section of page free, I love it when that happens...).

Smoothie for breakfast, complete with kale, berries, banana and this new whey protein, thankfully no lucky bugs. Lunch was tinned 'salmon and rice' which wasn't lovely, with eggs, spinach and yellow capsicum, early dinner was a 'healthy' burger from Grill'd. I feel it was not that healthy, I also feel that I went to the gym three times today, so if ever there was a day for it, it was today. Unsure whether I will have a late dinner (probably not) or just lots of tea (probably so). Freggies: 5/5, Protein: 3/3.

ROAR30 in the morning (tough but good, I finished in time which is a rare occurrence, but exciting). Spotted for Mr in the arvo (I went in in jeans so I knew I wouldn't do anything too silly. Mostly just walking around, put a few kettlebells away and the such). Form check with the PT in the evening, got some pointers for DLing including keeping my knees more apart, remembering to wear the right shoes and a swift lift from when my hands touch the bar, rather than hanging in the semi-squat-hold thinking about it. Gunna smash this birthday goal, I can feel it! (Provided that the baby skin on my hands where the blisters came off has toughened a bit by then, poor baby skin).

Wednesday~ Still dealing with the cramps. Eased off towards the end of the day, so thinking I've reached the end of this particular encounter, thank goodness. Given how well I've still been performing at the gym I'm keen to see some numbers when not encumbered by breeding cycle *pokes belly* then again, it could be the hormonal rage giving me that extra edge... who knows... Otherwise a fine day. Gym in the morning. Finished my assessment and submitted it. Spent so long on the forums and the computer that I'm sure my eyes are square.

I actually snooped in the warrior's food page a bit today (not a traitor! just looking!!) for some ideas... also toying with the idea of trying out eatthismuch.com... had it recommended by a friend, and it does have a Paleo setting... will need to investigate more. Also figured out Mr seriously miscalculated his calorie needs and was working on 1000 cals less than basal for a month or so *horror*. Thankfully I don't think any damage has been done, but he was pretty cheerful (and I a little jealous) when he figured out he can eat so many more things and not go over.

Freggies: Smoothie, banana, spinach, berries, protein powder. I redact my earlier statements about kale being great in smoothies... the spinach was just so darn smooth! no funny little chunky bits to slow me down. Lunch was a quarter of a chicken and four leaf salad mix (blergh, give me spinach or kale any day... I hate fancy lettuce), tomatoes, half a red capscicum. Dinner was a salmon steak and a handful of spinach tossed through the sauce (didn't need the fregg, but it looked so sad on the plate by itself). Freggies = 7/5 (Rangered!), protein 3/3.

Thursday~ Back at work and back to normal pretty much on the tummy front. One or two uncomfortable moments, but on the whole fine.Gym in the morning then work. Work went ok, long in the afternoon, but that's alright. Came home via Mr's work, had dinner with him, then grabbed a few things for my sisters who are staying the night to have for breakfast (bread and cereal and milk and things I didn't realise I'd sort of let wean out of our house). I only got small serves of everything so once they've had what they want I can either send the rest with the sister who recently moved out of home, or if it stays here it will be eaten and gone quickly. They're meant to be getting in around 1am, I'm going to the gym at 5.45am, so we may end up missing each other entirely...

Smoothie + Protein. Banana, berries, spinach. Lunch was chicken and salad (fancy lettuce! meh) with eggs on the side. Dinner was quarter of a rotisserie chicken with gravy and steamed veg (excuse Mr's nasty-ass work bench, I got the clean bit *shudder*).

Gymmed, got it done. A toughie, but not too bad... still falling behind on the skipping all the time, but went up a level in the box jumps and knees-to-elbows.

Yes/Yes washed and moisturised. Dealt with (some of) the eyebrow situation as well. While I was doing so I noticed something in the mirror... I have a shoulder!!! Like an actual shoulder not just a neck that turns into an arm! *partay*

Friday- a good day.

 

My sisters (x2) arrived at 2am to sleep here after a concert they went to... I had expected that they would just need to be let in and that they would go straight to be, so I organised for Mr to let them in, since he would be home from night shift and not asleep yet... I was wrong about the going straight to sleep bit, I awoke at 2.30 to guffawing and other such merriment. I stayed in bed for half an hour, listening to them chit-chat and trying to go back to sleep before finally I got up and hung out with them for a half hour before going back to bed. It made getting up at 5for the gym a struggle, and it meant I fell asleep on the floor part way through dinner (hence the morning update), but such is life. Gym was tough.Work was fine. Tried to gym again in the evening coz I wanted to test my deadlifts but couldn't even finish my warm up sets, so decided to skip it and test on a day when I've had plenty of time to eat and rest.

Eat like a warrior: yes. Smoothie for breakfast, spinach, banana, berries, protein, chicken and salad for lunch with mixed leaves, a green caps, pickled onions and olives plus a carrot. Dinner was pizza, I had only two slices and ordered a chicken schnitzel which I ate most of instead. ''Twas a good dinner despite its badness. We ate on the floor picnic-style until I fell asleep.

Went to a pop-up Strongman class this morning which my trainer mentioned yesterday, it was immediately followed by Tabata so I went to that too... that's another two classes and rounds out the week for a buttload (will need to look at BuJo for actual numbers). I need to not go to the gym on the weekend, and get some solid rest days in.

 

 

Strongman-

Overhead press, 1x 20kg, 1x 25kg

 

Farmers carry 20kg/side

 

Atlas balls 2x30kg, 1x15kg

 

KB floor to chin thingy 16kg (next time skip this, or put a box so not going to floor, back mindfulness!

Block run with heavy bag ??? The long squishy one...

 

 

Tabata- 8 rounds 20sec work to 10sec rest each of

 

Box Jumps (I went up to an actual box!)

 

KB swings (16kg)

Burpees travelling (sprawls due to angry back)

 

 

Notes, in case I forget: well, I forgot... not having class to remind me to get on the homework makes it a little tricky (a smattering of public holidays and the mid session recess meant no classes).

Saturday~ Again with the day-after update. A good day. Woke up early and tiptoed around the house to not wake up the sleepers. As such I had porridge for breakfast instead of my usual smoothie. Makes it hard to hit the freggies for the day without it! Took advantage of the car and took two bags of donations to the op-shop, also gathered pretty much everything I need to make my cosplay of Snow White from The Wolf Among Us. Got a shirt for Mr's Bigby costume as well (got two, a L and an XL because I was unsure. He scoffed when I suggested the L, but he was swimming in the XL and the L was just a fraction too tight, huzzah for surprise body-recomps) still need to get him some pants and a black tie and cell-shade paint everything, but it seems like it should come together nicely. Dropped the sisters at the beach and went to the protein shop to look for a weightlifting belt for Mr on trainer's reccommendation, didn't find one we liked, but I bought the amino thingy the trainer suggested as I usually do my morning ROAR fasted. Supposedly they are meant to help not burn muscles, we shall see... After the kidlets left Mr and I tried to go suit shopping (we have a wedding to attend on Friday) but all the shops were shut. That's the game plan for today.

Got a sad total of 3 freggies and 2 proteins. Banana and frozen berries with my porridge, a serving of edmame beans with sushi for lunch. I skipped dinner because it was pizza at friend's house for the boys game and a. I didn't really feel like pizza and b. I was napping on the couch and didn't want to get up for it. Today is a new day.

 

Train to defeat the Huns: rest day! A couple of times I really wanted to go to the gym, but I held myself to the need for a rest day.
