WELCOME TO IX'S BATTLE LOG

 

Wherein I hack down goals with my big warrior axe and then do something with logs. Am I a lumberjack? 

HMM.

 

Format: Starting with monthly goals and small challenges, perhaps some mini-participation to fill my challenge void, we shall see, but mainly this here is where I keep getting better doing the stuff I want to do and stay accountable, and occasionally see what new things I can squeeze in (or not, as the case sometimes is)

 

Let's jump right in!

 

It's the last half of April, so here's what I want to get done:

 

Fitness Whole Pizza In My Mouf

Pick up heavy things and then put them back down again: 6x

Be vaguely active: 12x

Don't pig out: Avg goal of 1550 cals

Back rehab: 28x

 

Feed The Brainz

Write errday: 10x

Read writing advice: 2x

Read own writing: 2x

Read print books: 4x

Study things/code academy stuff: 6x

 

(Yes, I realize there are more than 10 days for that write everyday goal BUT last challenge I never managed to write every day of any week, so for now I'm just trying to improve that habit. +1 til I get to everyday.)

 

That's it to start, since not much left of the month anyway.

you know, I still love pizza, I do. But man before I lost weight, pizza was my go to "bad" meal of choice, all the time, but now it's just not? I find I'm far more partial to nachos and cheese fries, but there's less challenge fitting a nacho or french fry in a mouth. The whole plate, maybe >.>

 

Anyway, my bizarre guilty pleasure obsession with Vampire Diaries may baffle me, but at least I end up with new songs I like. The soundtrack is pretty good.

I went for one 1-mile walk, in the rain, and later it was too rainy to do another. I didn't bring a change of clothes to stop by the gym on the way home, and I was too lazy to get on my stepper thing at home. Minor fail. Doesn't count for a point, need at least 2 walked miles, 45 min on home stepper, or 30 min on gym elliptical.

Ha, so the next section in codeacademy was on arrays, which I used extensively in my little friend-assigned practice project. Barely had to read anything to breeze through that. On the hunt for a new practice project.

 

Work was insane yesterday. Went home all braindead, could barely decide what game to play to unwind, then didn't wanna deal with MMO peeps (the stranger ones, the guild ones are great), then didn't know what game to play after that so I just turned my brain off for more VD.

Yeah, not only have I gotten to a point where I have a good idea of what I want my base challenges to always be, I just was starting to feel confined by the 4-5 week schedule and sometimes a girl just wants to start a 30 day burpee challenge tomorrow, but the next challenge isn't for 3 weeks and well

Egg whites, chicken apple sausage, avocado bowl for bfast. Midmorning of a protein shake (banana, scoop of protein, almond milk). Lunch of chicken caesar. 2 dried apricots, 2 slices of turkey deli meat. Dinner was 4 oz top sirloin, 120g crispy roasted potato, 1 cup steamed broccoli. Had 5oz moscato while cooking, as you do. 1513, 112g protein, I was extremely happy with today's food

 

People like to post shit on fb about how they hate health food and I'm over here like, sweet, more steak & potatoes for me.

I sit down SO MUCH

8 hours at work (or at home working from home)

however many hours I tv or game

if I'm not sitting I'm lifting or sleeping, basically

with small breaks for cooking

 

Sigh, I had a new form of back fun yesterday. No back pain (yay) but sciatica in hips and toes (ow) what is this mess. Don't know whether to blame the stepper thing or not.

Yesterday, I had 2/3 cup egg whites, 2 chicken apple sausage links, 1/2 avocado. Plain oatmeal w/ protein powder. A Banana. a mini larabar (those are the shit). Lunch was dinner leftovers of top sirloin, broccoli, and potatoes (omg so good still), and I made ground turkey & potatoes in the skillet for dinner. Could do with more vegetables that aren't potatoes (but potatoes are basically my bread replacement most days)

Spoilers, but I weighed in on the low side this morning, felt tired, and STILL hit my 90 lbs 5x3, yay

Tough for real, but the good kind of tough where your reps aren't awful (as far as I know) and you struggle a bit but there's no real fail. Just under 85% of bodyweight.

You just watch. If I'm ever trapped under rubble, well, I'll probably still be crushed, but on the off chance that the rubble is 90 lbs or less, I GOT THIS
