My previous battle logs were done in addition to my challenges and it got to be too much. I'm still doing my challenges but also started a battle log for my game. My "let's see if I can make this fitness/health thing fun again" game. I'm hoping both being different will help it not be too much.

It IS, but yeah, it doesn't count for this goal. It's at least in part to help ze back, but also to help my sit-on-the-couch-and-eat-everything problem lol

 

SPEAKING of back, it's been a royal bitch the last few days. Couldn't tell you what triggered it (I HOPE it was not a delayed reaction from the squat set), but I skipped the gym Sunday because of it.

The weekend was some fails. Saturday I did Palace of the Dead with guildies and we wiped again, to the same boss, but I think we learned a lot. Then I played a lot of Stardew Valley. Almost entirely unproductive. Sunday was gym buddy's going away party, which I wasn't feeling up to socializing, ended up drinking too much. Did not hit protein either day, but I did eat ice cream.

 

On the pro list, Cowboy Chicken is on the menu today. \o/

Yeaaaahhhhhh I had some friends try to get me back into WoW and I sorta tried for a week or two but I just wouldn't log in b/c so many other things were occupying my interests...

Yeah, if I didn't play FFXIV 3-5 times a week and if it didn't occupy 50-70% of my gaming time, there's no way it would be worth a subscription. A good MMO works hard to stay different and interesting over time to give you new and exciting stuff to do to justify money (I mean, if you're basically paying for a AAA game 3x a year, it had better be very enthralling.)

Twelve years ago it was FF11 that ate every minute of my waking life. Now no particular thing dominates my spare time, though if you ask the boyfriend, he'll swear it's dishes.

Was a fine day, NF-wise, but low calories = the grumps & really awful boring training at work = the grumps

On the plus side: I ate a lot of cowboy chicken yes I did

Today I jazzed up my breakfast scramble with some smoky black bean dip. Totally a great idea. Later: elliptical, code studying, and some writing underpants gathering

I also altered my programming because I felt like I could handle more days of whatever legs I could manage. So now I am 3x per week and every day includes "whatever legs" meaning if my back feels good and has felt good a while: a few light low bar squats. If it feels good but hasn't for very long: split squats. Then machine legs regardless. If I already got low bar squats in during that week, split squats instead. Bench stayed the same (that's the core programming and we're not fucking with that), but I'm adding a light day for close grip. Row stayed the same (no light day for it), and I'm hitting a different part of upper each day instead of just always doing the same bis & tris. I wanted to hit lats more and work on more pulling.

I've thought about going back for a month and checking it out again for fun, but I think at least for WoW, its time has passed for me and it just wouldn't be the same.

 

Like yeah, 7-10 years ago I played A L O T.  It's a different game now and I don't think I would be able to enjoy it like I used to.  Best to let sleeping dogs (worgen) lie, I guess.

 

Combine that with yes, many other things occupying a limited amount of interest time now...

Finally lurched to the end of a part. Gonna give a hair do over the next few days, so my writing sessions will be more like editing sessions. It is my way. It keeps me connected to what I just wrote and tells me early if I need to rethink some stuff.

Work was busy as balls so I'm sorta behind on foruming now. I got groceries to make my own Jimmy Dean breakfast bowl rip offs, thinking I'd save money. I did the math after and I'm saving a measly 4 bucks in entirety. I'd spend $16 on 6 packages, and I spent $12 on the stuff to make it myself, plus an hour in the kitchen and a mess to deal with. Unless it tastes amazeballs or gives me magic powers, I probably won't do that again. Relaxed with some music and Stardew Valley late afternoon, muuuuch needed. My brain had way more room to get moving again after that.

This on a lot of levels is how I feel about "pinterest culture".

 

This is also why I keep buying bagged salad kits even though it would be cheaper or better or whatever to make my own salads. It saves me a ton of time and waste. A quick dinner can always be protein, carb, and salad mix.

Tried to move traffic with my mind this morning, no go :( Total bust.

 

The verdict is this: It tasted somewhat better than the Jimmy Dean bowls I buy. It was more watery, but that seemed non-important. I may have over microwaved it. It has 30 more calories and 9g more protein than the Jimmy Dean bowls, which is a bit of a plus, that's 9g I don't have to find elsewhere.

 

I'm on the fence about whether I want to do it again. All the cheese clumped up and got a bit weird, but you can't really ruin cheese without super trying so it was fine.

This was my big reason for making my own breakfast burritos - the flavor was just way above and beyond anything I would buy.  Plus I could tinker with the ingredients to my liking.  It can get time consuming though............ blech.

Why is wrapping a burrito so difficult??? I have a hard time with it as well. My solution, don't over fill it and then throw it on a George Foreman and grill it. This usually helps keep it wrapped and melts the cheese. :)

I think a lot of it has to do with tortilla size?  Like the ones at restaurants are usually bigger than the ones you can buy at the store... Burrito deception :(

 

[edit] And the small tortillas can't hold as much and are harder to roll.  Didn't even finish my original thought before posting, awesome~
