Rangers Gonna Chimichanga: The Rangerpool Mini Challenge

Third, welcome to the Ranger Deadpool Mini Challenge. We will be using the feat system for our mini again. If you want to play along, Declare your name for the mini making a portmanteu of your username and Deadpool. Then declare your feats for the mini. You need a Speed Feat, a Distance feat, a recovery feat and a Rangerly Feat. Also, no Deadpool gifs.

Each feat will be announced on Sunday. If you miss one, you can make it up later during the challenge. Deadpool would not want strict adherence to any rules. Speaking of rules, no Deadpool gifs!

Week 1:

Week 2:

Looks like we're gonna have to hump it. Then we're gonna have to walk. So week two is time for our Distance feat. Also, no deadpool gifs.

Week 3:

Well, we made it to Frances. And do you know what happened? The little turd ran away!

One of the few people in the UNIVERSE that doesn't like Deadpool (probably) checking in for duty!! ^_____________^

 

But since I'm battle logging lately and not challenging I wanna do the mini, I actually have time to contribute without chasing challenge goals...

 

SO.

 

Shaar the NonPool

Distance Feat: Row 1000m over the course of gym days

Speed Feat: 15 minute speed-clean on all rooms in the house (15 minutes per room max, then move on)

Recover Feat: Eat icecream sandwiches 2 epsom salt baths over the week

Ranger Feat: Go to the park before work!

I've never seen Deadpool, but...

 

DeadSloth

 

Distance: Ride my bike 100 miles (if week 1), 125 miles (wk 2 or 3), 150 miles (week 4). Mileage is cumulative ;)

Speed: Do the hated intervals twice.

Recover: Foam roll until hurts and then roll some more. Every. Single. Day.

Ranger Feat: TBD.

I've not done one of these ... um.  Ever?   But I'm ready to try something new!

 

Name: STARKPOOL

Distance Feat: One 10 Mile Hike

Speed Feat: Bike ride; 8 miles in 40 minutes or less.

Recover feat: 30 minutes of reading "Dark Disciple" outside in the sun.

Ranger Feat: Commit to boxing once/week with friend.

Distance: Day Hike a trail (alt: walk 4 mi on beach day)

Speed Feat: HOOF IT. Increase warm up speed to 6 on elliptical for at least 5 min.

I wanted this to tag to my c25k, but I'm going at husband's pace and he has health issues, so I don't want to push it.

 

 

 

Distance Feat: GET OUT. Get one extra walk in.

 

 

 

Ranger Feat: GO OUTSIDE. Vitamin D is important and stuff. I will report back on my adventures :3

 

 

 

Recovery Feet: BECOME ONE WITH THE PRETZEL. Yoga tiem :3

 

 

 

.... wait, why is there a Speed and Distance but no Strength feat? o_O

Distance Feat ~ run the extra bit of park across the road from the Boathouse (it makes sense to me, ok?)

Recovery Feat ~ read one story from Norse Mythology each day

Ranger Feat ~ try a 15lb (plus water) ruck on that path that goes to the old bridge and back

 

Oh, also, since you asked for Deadpool gifs:

Speed: On this week I will overtake everyone in the blockrun warm-up. (If I need to throw mexican food at the others to trip them up, so be it)

Distance: On this week I will hit 10,000 steps a day, erry day (I can borrow/trade steps within the week if I do more on one day and less on another day coz bite me)

Ranger: Additional day of Chinese study this week. 你好, 我 是 死侍. (There is no direct translation for Deadpool, he is known as dead servant or dead warrior/samuri).

Recovery: Yoga all of the days AND/OR visit the sauna It's only $9 Yasha, stop making excuses AND/OR get a massage.

Haven't been on the forums in a long time so I'm calling the a respawn.

 

Speed Feat:  Run a virtual 5k each week.

Distance Feat:  Walk/ ruck each week.

Recovery Feat:  Spend some serious time on the foam roller.

Rangerly Feat:  Pull up/ muscle up practice after each lift day.

That's the name of the book, it's Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman. I really enjoy his writing, and I also really enjoy Norse mythology (and learning about Old Norse culture in general), so it's kind of a perfect book for me. I got it as soon as it came out but have yet to make time to open it up.

Honestly, whatever you think might work, works. Some people it's reading and studying, some it's archery. For me it's kind of a strengthy one, working on pull-ups, but I see it more as working on being able to overcome obstacles and such.

 

What sounds good to you? What's a skill you want to work on that maybe doesn't fit into the traditional fitness goal?

Speed Feat: Run once, off-and-on ok, but run for 20 minutes.

Distance Feat: One hike in the hills this week

Rangering feat: Build a planter box and put dirt in it. - Week One - Success!

Welp, guess I'll just jump right in on this thing....maximum effort.

Recovery Feat: Epsom salt baths after strength training

Speed Feat: Walk 5k in under (whatever my current fastest time is)

Distance Feat: Walk 10k at one time

Rangering feat: Walk a path I haven't before (I usually walk the same way every time. Awful for purposes of not being predictable and thus an easy target, but I am a creature of habit. :/ )

Seems it was necessary to change my mini-Challenge name since I changed my display name. Also changed the Speed feat to be more flexible because the time I'd originally set for a goal has already been beaten.
