Rangers Gonna Chimichanga: The Rangerpool Mini Challenge

Hmmm...this one seems like a good mini to get back into, yeah?

 

Speed: 2 min max sit-ups/push-ups

Distance: 5k trail run

Recovery: 30 total min shoulder/wrist rehab

Ranger: Book an appointment at the local Archery range 

 

This is gonna be fun, I can feel it deep down in my loins!

Speed Feat: A 5k Interval Training run

Recover feat: Figure out the characters in my book

Ranger Feat: Spend 10 minutes in plank position throughout a day.

Distance Feat: 18,000 steps in a one day
Speed Feat: Run just a single mile and time it.  It's gotta be better than my jogging pace!
Recover feat: Put up the hammock and use it for at least an hour
Ranger Feat: Hang the tree swing with the most appropriate knot possible. I'm (k)not sure what that is yet...open to suggestions.

Okay, so I'll admit I've never watched Deadpool... But I here good things about it, so I'm in ;) 

 

Distance Feat: Run at least a 6km this week instead of the usual 5k

Speed Feat: Get a PR on running 5k

Recover feat: Try out foam rolling (my gym has foam rollers, but I've never used them)

Ranger Feat: Total of 1 minute of bar hangs throughout the day

Elennare...Deadpool...I guess I'm Elenpool?  Sure, that works.

 

Distance feat: get 10k steps in a day (this is 1k more than my regular goal for the challenge)

Speed feat: I'm going to do this one on May 14th, no matter when it shows up. :P  Skate at least 27 laps in 5 minutes, and try to get 28.

Recovery feat:  Do NF yoga yin yoga twice this week.

Ranger feat: Take the boys swimming.

Breadpool - because I'm not strictly Paleo right now, in fact I'm not strictly anything, I'm making it up as I go along!

I've discovered I'm actually pretty good at improvising, so I'm going to be leaving my challenges a bit open. I'm still on my Epic Travel Adventure so I kind of don't have a choice.

 

Speed Feat: Most likely timed walking at a faster pace than usual, or some aerobics to get my heart up.

Distance Feat: Also walking. Not exciting, but it's what I need right now. At least 50% further than whatever I've been averaging that week.

Ranger Feat: Think on my feet and find something active to do with what's around me.

Recovery Feat: Relaxation meditation.

Recover feat: Sleep or at least stay in bed 8 hours a night during this challenge

Ranger Feat: Finish my first Audible book

We are supposed to focus on accomplishing our Ranger feat during this week? For example, mine is to walk a path I haven't before, so I just need to do that when I go for my walks this week and I "learn where Francis is"?

Well, this should be easy this week. All the rain we've been getting has flooded our septic tank, so if we want showers we need to go to the Y. And if we're going through all that trouble, we might as well make a stop at the pool!

Hullo.

The name is DeadSky. Pleased to meet you and pleased to be a part of this great little challenge thingy.

 

Distance: Row 3000 km once at the gym during this week.

Speed: Jog/run from my office to my mom's office and record how long it takes.

Recover: Read two chapters in a fiction book of my choosing OR read one of my little vintage writing textbooks.

Ranger: Successfully re-pot all of my plants (5 tomatoes, 1 basil, 2 dracaenas, 1 unknown ferny thing) without killing any of them.

 

So this week, my Ranger task is to get my little balcony garden ready for a productive summer. I'll award myself a bonus WIS point if I remember to also look up and post 2 articles on container gardening, specifically tomatoes.

 

A little work now will hopefully give me months of my favorite summer food ever, tomato and mayonnaise sandwiches! :)

I hope it's okay to do the mini, even if we're not doing a challenge this time around....  I'm still quasi-here.  Just super over-booked for the next month.  

 

Name: Nymasonic Middle-Age Warhead

Distance: Take a long walk somewhere new (yay, exploring!).  Accumulate at least 20 miles of walking during the week.  

Speed: Shadowboxing and weapons work.  I haven't played with these in awhile, and I need to dust them off and get my cardio on.

Recover: Do at least two long flexibility and recovery yoga sessions

Ranger: Outdoor parkour!  Yeah, it isn't one of the official ranger feats.  Don't really give a damn. ;)  I train in the gym way too much, and I really need to get my ass outside.
