The Return of The Ophilus

Recommended Posts

Theophilus to Scouts. It has been 113 days since my last transmission. Current status: quo.

After some big wins last year, my fitness goals were sidelined as I focused on recovering from a minor heart procedure and applying to law school. I've maintained daily cycling to work by virtue of necessity, but my other healthy habits have waned at best. Fortunately, the law school application process is now behind me. I've been accepted into my dream school, and will likely be attending next year after a one-year deferment. Which brings me back to my health.

I'm staring down the barrel of my 30th birthday in a few short months, and I want to end my third decade on a high note. Big picture health goals for the next 14 weeks: lose weight, start running again, and get strong. Big picture life goals: cultivate depth--of mind, of spirit, of relationships; oh, and get out of debt. Looks like I've got around two and a half challenges between now and three-oh-day. Here we go.

Challenge 1:

Start running again - 3 times per week, 2-3 miles per run

Challenge 2:

Eat more plants - 6 servings fruits and/or veggies per day

Challenge 3:

Eat less trash - Eliminate eating out during the work day, max 2 healthy purchased workday meals during the length of this challenge

Challenge 4:

Spend less money - Find good budget software by the end of week one and actually stick to the budget the Mrs. and I set months ago

Glad to be back among the living.
