Plazmotic Maintains Her Streak

Recommended Posts

Despite being disappointed by my last challenge performance, overall I've made some great life changes, so I've decided this challenge is going to be more about setting myself up for success and holding on to the habits I've been developing thru the last couple challenges.

Quest #1 - Food

  • Avoid eating a giant bowl of carbs as a meal
  • Vegetables or fruit with every meal
  • Healthy snacks (yogurt, nuts) instead of garbage snacks (CHIPS CHIPS CHIPS)

Quest #2 - Exercise

  • Do physical activity at least once a week (gardening totally counts)

Quest #3 - Writing

  • Work on my novel at least once a week for 1-2 hours.

Quest #4 - Money

  • Spending hiatus! Don't purchase anything that isn't a necessity. (Exception: date night with the husband)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I suppose I could start implementing these quests now, but I use Week 0 to indulge in a little frivolity. Hence yesterday's McNuggets & Unicorn Frapp. Has anyone else tried the UF at Starbucks? I thought it was delicious, I might try to replicate a healthier version over the summer.
Sounds like a recipe for a win. You've got this. :)
Building on an already built foundation is a great way to start! How is the Unicorn Frappe? I'm curious about the flavor profile.
I personally liked it, it was a nice combination of sweet (mango) and sour (blue raspberry). I don’t even like Starbucks much because their coffee always tastes burnt to me, I only ever have tea or fruity drinks if I’m there.
I've never tried their coffee, I usually stick with the teas (Iced Chai FTW) or frappes. I'm not sure how I feel about that combination of flavors haha.
Yesssss their Iced Tazo Chai in the summer is my go-to treat. That and the Tim Hortons Iced Cappuccino (with chocolate milk instead of regular milk, yum).
Your goals sound pretty solid to me, good luck! :)
You know I never once had something other than regular coffee or tea at Starbucks? And now I read all these comments, and I wonder why I never got something exciting! Writing it on my to do-list...
Right?? It was the first drink I ever tried there and is still my favorite. I have a buddy who swears by Tim Hortons but I've never been haha.
Me too! It was my first job in the big city and I worked in an office full of trendy ladies who introduced me to it. :)
This might be blasphemy, but I don't like the majority of frozen drinks, including Starbucks Frapps. My normal drink is an Americano, but I am enjoying the Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato. I also thought the UF sounded gross because I don't like fake fruit flavors.
I looked through your challenges, but I didn't see it - what is your novel about?
It’s a fantasy novel, something I’ve been working on and reworking for years now. It’s actually part 1 of a trilogy but I’m trying not to put the cart before the horse. Right now I’m 30,000 words in, and I’ve already scripted out the entire plot, so it’s just a matter of writing the damn thing.
+1 on this. Gardening totally counts!
And yay for your novel coming along. I like your spending challenge too. Reminds me of the spending ban @NeverThatBored did.
The UF intrigues me because of the color changing but I feel zero desire to try it.
I wanted to make some other witty comment because I used to work at Starbucks, but I got nothin'.
Day 1 (April 23) results
Food Quest
Lunch = um, McDonalds. But I got chicken nuggets with a side salad! Dinner was unfortunately a BBoC (Big Bowl of Carbs) but IN MY DEFENSE, it was mom's spaghetti, how could I say no? Had veggies with both meals. Snacks were cheese and nuts.
Exercise Quest
Gardening and walking. Had so many errands to run I did an hour of walking, then came home to do some pruning and weeding. :)
Money Quest
There was A LOT of purchasing yesterday, but most of it was necessary (plant food, travelling gear for our summer vacation, etc.). The one exception was a pair of cobalt blue flats my husband talked me into buying because it was on sale and he thought they looked great on me. What an enabler, LOL.
In other news, apparently I am pregnant? Wha? Buh? Okay, well, good thing I have a doctor's appointment today, because I am SLIGHTLY TERRIFIED.
Thanks everyone!
Day 2 (April 24) results
Food Quest
Lunch = aww BBoC again… but it was mom’s spaghetti? Dinner – steaks with avocado salad and tex-mex penne. Snacks were Greek yogurt, cheese, and a chocolate dip donut (because I had to do something to commemorate being knocked up).
Exercise Quest
Running with my SIL was cancelled due to my doctor’s appointment, and I didn’t do any other physical activity. :(
Money Quest
No extra money spent (used a gift card to buy the donut, woo!)
