Suzaqu hopes this is a good month

Hello everyone!

If you saw my last challenge, you know that April was kinda ridiculous for me, in that there was just a whole lot of changes and I never really had time to spend on myself. I've decided that May will be better, so I'm starting now!

I'm switching back to my original challenge format, just because I want a bit more structure this go around, since my life is still in flux (someone else gave notice at work, it's unknown how this will affect my already affected job). I don't forsee any trips etc coming up this time, so I'm ready to get rolling. (I'm a Monday start fan, so my weeks run Monday-Sunday here for tracking purposes)

Quest 1: Use my shiny new gym memembership: I will take a fitness class once a week  (preferably a new class each week). Because the class membership doesn't start until May, to compete this goal this week I have to actually sign up for that class membership

Quest 2: Do 3 other workouts during the week: This can be anything from walks with my husband (still trying to get that going for the year) to S&S to more gym workouts, including classes. I'll also count working on the minichallenge here.

Quest 3: Have (at least) 3 no drinking days a week.

Quest 4: Since I got a shiny new lunch box as a reward last challenge, I have to use it, and that will involve posting one pic a week here of my healthy snacks.

Quest 5: Spend 2 hours stretching over the course of the 4 weeks.

Bonus quest: finish this dang baby blanket I've been knitting

Reward: Since I'm a stationary nerd, my reward for completing is a new planner (mine runs out at the beginning of June) and a fancy notepad for taking meeting notes.

No theme, it's a gif free-for-all! I feel like this is the perfect date to get started!

Monday:

I had a super boring and useless 3 hour orientation at work (yes, I have been working there 9 months). I got some good "meeting thinking" done and I wrote up my challenge in my planner and acutally got some stuff done for the challenge on Monday, despite not posting it. I didn't drink anything on Monday, and got some healthy snack prep done, and my lunch box arrived!

Tuesday:

I packed my first fancy snacks! Cold corn salad, clementines and pecans!

You picked a great prize last time.  Love the spiffy lunchbox.  And nice snacks.  I don't pack my own lunch since I work from home, but I'm always looking for healthy things to include in my kids' lunches.  They just might go for cold corn salad (if I hold the greens and it looks like corn on the cob),

I was missing you! Looks like a tasty snack in a very cool lunch box

Thank you! I was sad not being here :)

I'm definitely a fan of the lunch box, the compartments are encouraging me to do several different snacks each day.

Thanks! I do feel really fancy whenever I use it. I make my corn salad mexican style with onion, cilantro (the green stuff), garlic, cumin, lime, hot sauce/salsa, and avocado sometimes. Apparently my husband didn't realize it was supposed to be cold and had been microwaving it with his lunch. He tells me it tastes good that way too :)

Yessss, stationary is the best (as long as post-it notes count as stationary). I'm currently using an Ink-and-volt planner and loving it and I really want to try their meeting notes!

Also really excited to see your lunch boxes/shamelessly steal your ideas. :P I'm starting to realise that if I don't eat in the afternoon the risk of everything going tits up increases by about a 500%, and getting a snack box seems like a very nifty way of countering that.

Steel away! I'm planning on stealing a lot of them from mind-over-munch's bento box series (which is where I found the box I ended up buying). I've accepted that my inner hobbit requires both a morning and and afternoon snack. Or at least 2 lunches, one at 10am and one at 2pm.

Tuesday update: I finished the evening with 15min of stretching.

Wednesday:

I packed more snacks, half an avocado with balsamic, salt and pepper, more pecans, and more clementines (I forgot to take a pic :(). I started getting a sore throat in the afternoon and then by the time I went to bed I had a tiny fever (99F). I'm sadly one of those people who feel their fevers, no matter how small. So not a goal accomplishing day, other than not drinking. I also didn't actually eat my beautiful snack.

Thursday:

Felt fine when I woke up, but started feeling sick again in the afternoon. Went home sick and slept for a few hours and am feeling better again. I'm unsure if this is allergies or an illness, but I'm playing it safe, since we have a work event on Saturday that I am running, so I want to be well. Again, not drinking, but also not working out. That goal may not happen this week. Tomorrow I'm hoping on signing up for the class pass and getting that goal complete at least.

Friday:

I did call in about the class pass, and turns out it's free for the summer! Felt not great but got through work.

Saturday:

Felt pretty dang good, did the work event which involved 7 hours on my feet and assorted walking around. Got home and did a walk with my husband, so I'm calling that a workout! If the weather holds out, we'll get a hike in tomorrow, otherwise I'll find something to do at home. My back has been twinging the past few days, so I'm not sure if that will be S&S, but we'll see!

Sunday:

My husband and I did get a short, level, hike in, so I rounded out the week pretty well. I'm missing a workout, but since I was sick, I'm pretty happy with it.

Monday:

My illness moved from my head and throat into my chest, with a great cough and no voice :( So I'm not going to be working out for a bit, as breathing is hard enough. At least I didn't drink, so one challenge win! They released the schedule for the classes at the gym for this month, and they reduced it to be exactly at times when I can't go: lunch, and the last hour of my work day. I have enough coworkers that go out during the lunch hour that I usually have to stay so there's someone around, and the last hour of the day is when my boss wants me there most. So I'm modifying that goal to just be going to the gym at least 1 time a week. I hope they have more classes once the summer gets going!

Tuesday:

Still coughing up a storm and feeling pretty useless. I went into work, but wasn't very productive. I'm home now and feeling pretty tired. I really hope I get better soon, this is getting annoying! I did pack a fun snack at least, which did make the day brighter :) I think I'm going to get in some stretching tonight hopefully at least.

Sharp cheddar cheese (not butter, I realized it looks like that)

Cherry tomatos

Celery and peanut butter (bite sized pieces to avoid annoying my coworkers with too much crunching)

Good idea to cut up the celery to bite size pieces.  I hadn't been doing celery at work because of the noise of eating it.
