Monday - Wednesday

My plantar fasciitis has been acting up now for roughly 2 weeks. It KILLS me every morning and when I have to stand up after sitting for a while. I've been stretching it pretty much daily for the last 2 weeks and trying to avoid aggravating it but it's not really getting better. I have 1 more picture to post in my Bullet Journal PVP and I'll earn my prize, which I'm thinking of changing to a foot massage.

Very boo to plantar fascitis. My dad had that and seriously no fun. :/ At one point it was so bad he walked with a cane to avoid putting his weight on his heel, ugh. I hope it feels better soon.

 

Maybe the laughing yoga will help! XD

Foot is getting a little better but I've also been much lazier lately, so maybe that's helped. I noticed yesterday that when I got up from the couch I didn't need to lean on furniture to walk. Always a plus, especially when you are not 80 years old. Spent some time going over my challenge and bujo and trying to figure out what is working and what is not working.

Every time I get done doing a dead hang it's like my hands are stuck in claw shape and slightly numb. Oh and my hands are peeling...so sexy.

I will say I brought this flair up all on myself...barefoot workouts are a NO GO when you have PF.

 

Also my friend always laughs at me when we go shoe shopping because I have to get the old lady flats. The ones that are super ugly but support your feet. Can someone please make cute flats for people who need the support??

Friday & Saturday

 

Friday I meet up with one of my oldest and bestest friends for an invigorating round of mini golf. I meet her boyfriend for the first time, so that was exciting! Got home pretty late and watched youtube videos.

 

Saturday I woke up later than I had hoped. I wanted to check out a day spa near me to see what their prices were but I'll have to do that Monday. Went to Half Price Books and sold a bunch of CDs and DVDs. Then went to lunch before my Bystander Intervention Training. This workshop was full of useful information and there were about 30 people there, mostly middle age women. I took notes but hopefully I can get complete notes from the instructor soon. If anyone wants a copy let me know and I can send it to you.

Challenge Review

 

Calories (20/28 days (Passing 14)) - COMPLETED

BMR : 1882

TDEE : Range from 2200 - 2500

 

It's always good for me to go back and record calories consumed. It's easy to put it out of your mind when you are not seeing the actual numbers. I really do dislike this tracking though. It just takes a lot of time or I forget what I had. I am glad that I put in my challenge to figure out my BMR & TDEE. I need to work on what I eat and be more selective in what foods I do eat.

 

Dead Hangs (26/28 days (Passing 20)) - COMPLETED

This was hard but so glad I added this one to my goals. I went from 5s to 10s and I will be continuing this goal in some way. There were times when the backs of my biceps were screaming but the majority of the time, my grip just isn't strong enough. I'm going to have to figure out how to strengthen my grip so I can hold my dead hangs for a lot longer than 10 seconds. 

 

Workouts (12/15  (Passing 12))- COMPLETED

I keep this goal in because it's still not a habit for me but I want it to be. I did ok here and while I hit my passing goal some of my workouts where not that great. Some rocked but that was only for about 2 weeks. 

 

Adulting (8/5 Tasks) - COMPLETED

I rocked this goal! While this goal never seems super important, it makes me feel good to accomplish the tasks I set out to do. It helps when I'm having a low week. 

 

Since I completed the Bullet Journal PVP and my challenge I'm going to get a pedicure AND try something I've never done, a foot massage.

KICKED SO MUCH BUTT.

 

I think the best way to improve your deadhangs is just to keep on working on them. But you could try holding heavy weights in your hands as well as a supplement?

I was going to say the same thing as raptron - best way to improve grip strength is to just keep doing the thing. I need to work on mine too, and I've noticed the most improvement from simply doing pull up drills.

Does loading up all grocery bags in order to only make 1 trip count??

I finally cleaned up my upstairs hallway so I can use my TRX things again to hopefully help with the pre-pull up exercises. 

 

Also I scheduled my foot massage and pedicure for this Saturday. I have all of next week off so I get to kick off my vacation with some nice R&R!

They make these hand grip things (grippers?) that are supposed to help with grip strength. It's just this thing that you hold in your hand and squeeze. They shouldn't be too hard to find, and the advantage of that is you can just use the thing when you're sitting and watching TV or whatever. Plus it's portable.

I think carrying the groceries is one reason I have decent grip strength, except I have to carry them all cause I don't have a car. And it's a 10 minute walk. But most of the time I use the reusable bags and I can just load them up on my shoulders. When I forget the bags though... it feels like my fingers are going to fall off before I get home!
