I'll mostly continue with the same goals.

 

Goal One:  Overcome the Virus and scavage enough for food

  • drink 3l a day and more when I get exercise (track in plant nanny)
  • 3 portions of freggies (paper tracker)
  • reduce unhealthy snacks and take away (not more then once a week, paper tracker)

==> aim for six good eating days a week

  • Bonus 1: prepare a bento for Wednesday
  • Bonus 2: roughly start counting my calories again (preferably on Monday, Wednesday and Friday; track in myfitnesspal)

 

Goal Two: Don't let them outrun you

  • every day: walking or sun salutations or 5 tibetans

==> establish morning routine on Monday and Friday; 20 minutes sun salutations, 5 Tibetans and 10 minute meditation. I try to get it in once a week first and by week four I want to do that more regularly

 

  • Tuesday: Tai Chi (classes because of public Holidays only on the 13th and 20th June)
  • Thursday: Yoga (classes because of public Holidays only on the 1st, 22th June)
  • Bonus: picking up the fire staff once a week for at least half an hour

 

So I'm focusing on my at home workouts this challenge, because most of my classes won't take place. I'll take it as a Chance to make daily small workouts a Habit again. If I don't go to visit my parents at the beginning of June, I want to pick up my fire staff again. Let's see how it goes.

 

Goal Three: Get your stuff done and don't give in the lethargy

  • Study 15 hours a week again.
  • Bonus for getting all my homework done by Saturday evening.

 

Goal Four: To Do List 

I'm going to write to-do-lists again and set priorities.

 

28th May: Finish notes on presentation and discuss with professor

29th May: Finish editing all the photographs for my art project and get them printed

1st June: Hand in art project

3rd June: Finish gardening

10th June: Finish presentation for Monday

15th June: sign up for tests

Challenge Retrospektive April/May

 

Goal One:  Overcome the Virus and scavage enough for food Grade: 75%, B (Last challenge: 62%, B )

I think I was able to get a healthier lifestyle. I didn't get the flu this challenge. I had some cheat days, but I ate less produced stuff. I baked my own cakes and was more in controle of how much sugar I consumed. Again it helped, that I'm tracking my water intake with plant nanny. With the freggies Goal I figured out, that smothies are a good way to get in fruits. This way you can still use overripe stuff, that's sometimes sold with a discount. And I managed to pack my own bentos in the evenng. So I didn't have to spent money on Cafeteria Food. I also realized that Rice balls are really cheap to make. So no more skipped lunch. So for next challenge I'll try to not get in so many cheat days.The rest seems to be fine.

 

I'm definitely going to continue with this goal. Maybe I'm going to use myfitnesspal again. It's just really hard to measure what I'm eating. I'm not cooking alone for lunch. But I'll try to at least roughly track. At the moment I don't want to lose much more weight. I just want to try to not gain ist all back.

I only missed one yoga class and added dancing to my challenge for half of the time.But I didn't walk as often as last challenge and that's showing in my statistics. I still have to get in more at home exercise. On rainy or busy days I tend to not walk so much. On These days I should at least try to get in 20 minutes of yoga or do my tibetans. I'm still trying to make that a Habit, so I'll definitely go on with this goal. We have one week off University at the beginning of June. Maybe I should try doing one of these every day for ten days in a row then.

Bonus was dancing lessons.

This challenge I got in my 15 hours every week and managed to reach my milestones. I'll try to continue the good work. And definitely helped me, that I was working on homework on days, where I had to go to lessons and save Tuesday and Friday for my papers. I'm not going to aim for higher numbers because of what happened last challenge. Last challenge i had one week with >130% and afterwards I wasn't able to motivate myself for the following two weeks. It's better to get my stuff done every week and not stress myself out about getting in as much as possible.

Goal Four: To Do List 

I wasn'tz able to get in stuff in the morning. Maybe I should instead aim for doing most of my stuff in the evening and stop jumping out of bad in the morning and trying to get everything done. That's just stressing me and I feel that my sleep is less good, when I'm already thinking about the stuff I still have to do in the morning. Like packing my bag. I wasn't Walking as much as I used to last challenge, because I was late and then took his grandfathers offer to drive us. All in all I got more housework done than last challenge. It definitely helped to write to do lists regularly and set priorities.

Well, all in all, it looks like the last challenge was a good one to you. You learned some things and you got some good habits and you managed to reap some benefits. So it sounds like this challenge is going to be about holding that steady and refining it. Those are always fun - it's like knowing that you can win the game and now you're trying to run up the score.

Here are some questions to put your goals to the test:
1. Is your overall quest achievable (over a short or long period of time)?  Is it reasonable?

I just realized I haven't got a overall goal at the moment. I tried to lose some more weight and get back down to 58kg. But at the moment I feel fine with my 63kg and just want to hold my weight for a bit.

Another goal was getting my stamina back. I already can run/walk to the train station in about 20 minutes again.

A long time I was aiming for better time management and wanted to get better at catching my deadlines. I think it's my goal to stick to this and graduate in 2018. I already talked about this with some people at university and it seems to be a reasonable goal. Until then a lot of my challenges will be about sticking to my schedule and not losing my head.

Improving my eating habits definitely helps. I'm feeling healthier and can get more stuff done. Exercise also helps me to concentrate better on learning days. Scheduled classes remind me of getting my stuff done in time, so I don't have to skip a training for last minute extra study time. Yoga and Tai Chi also include meditation and help me to destress. Regular study time and writing to do lists is obviously helping my main goal. ^^

I have a lot of small goals, but I've been adding them up step by step. The new goals are bonus. So when times get stressful I'll stick to the rest of the plan.

That's indeed something I should keep in mind. I'll have a closer look when I'm at home. I only changed my exercise schedule so far.

 

8. Do any of your main goals conflict with each other? Will one goal make it hard to do another?

I don't think so.

 

9. Do you already have the time in your schedule to actually complete the goals you've set?  If not, what are you planning to do to make time for them?

Love the double down on mindfulness! You've really been able to regain control over the biz and I hope it feels as awesome as it sounds :D here's to another round!!

I think it's a good thing I've been building on my goals from challenge to challenge for half a year now. In January I set myself some goals and tried to figure out what's going to help me get there. The new challenge format is really helping. First I wasn't a fan of the four week system. I thought four weeks are too short to make things a habit. But after my respawn I stopped changing my goals to much between challenges. For now that seems to work and it's definitly less stressful than my combo system. That wasn't really a timemanagement strategy I could use on the long run and it wasn't helping against procrastination.

 

Let's see if I can proudly claim by the end of 2017 that I slaid that dragon.^___^ (-->sig)

You're going to make me blush. I'm just better at setting small more reasonable goals. And maybe I'm more patient with myself. There's still so much I want to get back into: strength training with dumbbells, swordmanship, real more martial arty Tai Chi... I'm just concentrating on my studys and stress management at the moment.

 

But hey, after graduation I figure out a way to get my sword and protective gear to the US and we have a real duel and not just photo poses xD

I don't know what you mean with double down on mindfulness, but thank you. Good to have you here. I definitely feel good about myself. So even it isn't as awsome it's still really cool I'm at a better headspace.

And I changed my goals a little. Added some measurements. I'm still debating if I change the progress chart for the calory counting. For now it's only on the paper tracker. And maybe also add the morning routine. It's getting a little complicated. Let's see if it helps to schedule these things. At least it looks SMART.

Day 1, 28.05.2017

I was a little stressed out about getting my stuff done and ate some snacks while editing my pictures.

 

Goal Two: Don't let them outrun you

  • walking and 30 minutes of sun salutations


So I did some yoga in the morning. But somehow I wasn't in the mood to do my 5 tibetans afterwards and than meditate. I'll try to do that at least once this week.

  • Worked on my art project for four hours.

Did my chores and worked towards my milestone.

I still have time for this presentation, so I decided to concentrate on the art project. The presentation is due on the 12th June. I'll write a mail. Discussing my notes face to face was optional anyway.

Day 2, 29.05.2017

 

Goal One:  Overcome the Virus and scavage enough for food

  • drink 3l a day and more when I get exercise ✔ (I think I drank more than 4l. It was really hot again.)
  • 3 portions of freggies ✔ (Had a salad and a lot of fresh fruit. We didn't want to have a warm dinner today.)
  • no unhealthy snacks for role play and the anime night. \o/ ✔
  • Bonus 2: ✔ tracked around 1550 kcal

 

Goal Two: Don't let them outrun you

  • walked more than 5 kilometers

If I want to get in my morning routine, I really have to pack my bag in the evening. I was really late this morning. Also because I had to do some chores in the morning.

 

Goal Three: Get your stuff done and don't give in the lethargy

  • Studied for 2 hours

Goal Four: To Do List 

I also did some housework in the morning again. That doesn't really help with my other goals tough.

 

29th May: Finish editing all the photographs for my art project and get them printed

I'm sure I can finish the rest today. I also handed in a A2 print for a small exhibition. The student sitting there was sure sure they would take it.

Day 3, 31.05.2017

 

Goal One:  Overcome the Virus and scavage enough for food

  • 3l
  • 3 portions of freggies 
  • No snacks; declined a yes pastry my bf got for me by sneaking it into the fridge.

==> Second good day

  • Bonus 1: didn't need one. My friend already offered to pack me a lovely salad. Picture follows.
  • Bonus 2: counted 1526 kcal

 

Goal Two: Don't let them outrun you

  • Walked about 10 km
  • Tuesday: Tai Chi teacher is on holiday, so I did 10 sun salutations, the 5 tibetans and a short meditation when I needed a break from studying. I didn't manage to do so in the morning. But it definitely refreshed me. Although it was hard to meditate because of the heat.

 

Goal Three: Get your stuff done and don't give in the lethargy

  • Studied 5 of the eight hours I spent at my friends place. I was unconcentrated and had a minor headache

 

Goal Four: To Do List 

  • Laundry
  • cleaned kitchen
  • set table for breakfast in the evening
  • but forgot to water the plants

Day 5 - 7, 01.06.2017-03.06.2017

 

Goal One:  Overcome the Virus and scavage enough for food

  • drink 3l a day and more when I get exercise
  • 3 portions of freggies
  • reduce unhealthy snacks and take away

==> I had two good eating days out of three. We went to a fair and I had to taste the white nougat. It consisted of pistachio, egg white and honey. I really liked it.

  • Bonus 2: roughly start counting my calories again

 

Goal Two: Don't let them outrun you

  • Thursday: Yoga session
  • Friday & Saturday: I only took some walks

 

Goal Three: Get your stuff done and don't give in the lethargy

  • Thursday I studied 3 hours and decided to take the rest of the week off

Goal Four: To Do List 

Got some chores done in the house.

Jep. All done and I even got a really good mark. Today I'm going to continue with the next thing. The last few days have been good tough. I took the long weekend off.

So week one went quite well and I even got was able to cross a few things off my to-do-list. Just didn't finish my homework, because most of the stuff isn't due before the 10th of June. So after my last deadline I decided to take four days off. Food wise I managed to only have two cheat days. Water and freggies wasn't a problem and I made my bentos. For my exercise goal I went walking every day again, meditated three times, did yoga three times and did my tibetans twice. All in all I'm satisfied with how the week went.

 

For week two I'll try to do some fire spinning but I'll have to wait for better weather. My study goals will be to complete my homework and finish preparing my presentations. When that's done, I'll continue with my next big thing. I've to finish a praxis report. It's a folder full of lesson preparations, reflections and stuff. I don't have a hand in date for this one yet, but I would like to finish it in June, so I can focus on my exams in July.

  • Sign up for exhibition work (I've to help setting it up and book a slot in the schedule.)
  • Finish preparing first presentation by June 10 ✔
  • Finish homework until June 12
  • Read book for lecture on June 13
  • Finish preparing second presentation by June 15 ✔

  • Finish folder in June
  • Research for my paper that's due at the end of August

  • Wednesday: studied two hours

I'm going to write to-do-lists again and set priorities.

Thursday: sun salutation, tibetans, meditation; finally did it in the morning after Waking up early from a nightmare; No yoga class this evening tough because of the holidays. I also walked a lot again.

I'm slowly getting used to the changed timetable. But my form for the first few sun salutations is still a little off because of me being tired. I also got a lot on my list done. Tomorrow I'll take care of my homework.

Holy crow, you have an avocado tree? That's awesome! My mom is trying to do the same thing, although we're still at the early stages. I'm just happy to hear that it's actually a thing!

Friday: sun salutation, tibetans, meditation around noon; I also walked a lot again. And I'm going to go dancing at night.

I can still try to get in my fire spinning on Saturday. Than this week would be perfect.
