Week 1 – Sunday and Monday

 

yeahhhhh I didn’t do anything fitnessy for the first two days of the challenge. Sunday was an early wake up call to get ready for a friend’s birthday brunch and then we went straight to the music fest until midnight. Lots of walking and drinking and bbq.

 

Monday was struggle bus city especially with ravenous attacking sharks. We got the grocery shopping done, two loads of laundry, lots of dishes, meal prepped breakfasts, pressure cooked a big batch of salsa chicken and rice, vacuumed, and binged watched a ton of American Gods.

 

I will start calorie counting today… might miss a Spartan WOD this week but I’ll try my best to get to goals!

I read this first as miles, and I thought wow, 9 miles, that is a lot for week 1. Then I saw the warm up, and I was like no way a 10 mile warm-up. Then I thought about meters, but no that makes  even less sense. MINUTES. Wow, I am slow this morning. It's minutes Taddea.

Second - I had NO idea they'd made a show based off American Gods - I lovvveddd that book but it has been so long I remember 0 about it = perfect watching experience (ala Dirk Gently, remembered a deep love but no details so it doesn't matter how much the show deviates from the book!)

yes!! i think i finished ep4 yesterday and at least the first 3 episodes felt really tied well to the book, they're deviating a tad now though but as it's been a year or so since I've read it as well, i just don't care! Gaiman is the exec. producer too so i trust him to choose wisely!

 

it's unfortunately on Starz so you have to pay for a subscription but i got through 4 episodes on the free 7 day trial. worth it to check it out for free anyway!

Oh my gosh I am so tickled - I looked it up and it is not available here (I am sure internets will rescue me) but was apparently filmed in my town. How did I not even know this was happening???? THIS IS NUTS!

Week 1 – Tuesday

 

slept in but did get 15 burpees down

 

at work:

3 planks @ 75s

wall sit @ 60s

boat pose @ 60s

 

and got some stuff in after work

 

Day 5 Week 1 Spartan WOD

11m of yoga stretches

 

Roasted some chicken and broccoli for dinner and watched a bit of Brooklyn 99. Pretty good day of getting back to basics.

I think someone else already talked about it but I ALSO UNTIL LITERALLY THIS MOMENT thought m was for meters. Hahah. Everything suddenly makes more sense. Back to normalcy~

thanks :D of course now that i've decided to do this couch to spartan program before my actual spartan i am determined to get it all of the Rx workouts. it's that weird OCD of "finish all parts of a level of a game before moving on to the next part."

morning gym sesh even though I wanted to sleep in. wasn’t great but I was there and things were lifted.

rehearsal after work so I had a quick salad for veggies at home and grabbed an egg wrap with chips at starbucks. Kinda munched on peanuts after rehearsal though which I didn’t exaaaactly neeeeed

haha it is nice to see after a trip abroad and a heavily intoxicated memorial day weekend! but i promise these spartan WODs really aren't all that demanding so i feel okay cramming them in wherever

slept in and still only got 7hrs

 

at work:

2 planks @ 75s

when I got home I did my 15 burpees, a yoga based dynamic warmup and then,

 

Day 6 Week 1 Spartan WOD

5 pushups (on knees)

30s plank

15 BW squats

5 lunges each side

3 lateral lunges

30s bear crawl hold

x3

 

then some more yoga stretches. dinner was cod and broccoli and hard cider.

 

Calories: 5,835/10,000

Weights: 1/2

Spartan: 2/5

Burpees: 45/45

Yoga: 32/60; 2/3

 

Plan for the rest of the week:

meant to note that 15 burpees didn't actually feel like complete death yesterday. like only partially dead by the end.
