Woohoo! Hopefully now you'll get some traction on the apartment hunting.

I don't know what the official etiquette is, but I don't see why you can't work with multiple realtors - you need results whoever does their job best will benefit. Especially after all the run around you've been getting, I would want to hedge my bets.

That's what I was thinking. I am going to call he on Monday and see what she says. At this point I need results and a place to live. I'll take all the help I can get.

Weekly update:

Exercise- Rangered! (Mostly)

I still love my bootcamp classes! I will be revising my running goal

Goal 1: Go to bootcamp at least 2-3x/week

I made it to bootcamp 3x this week. I attended my first night class. The vibe was different and had a few different people in it. My hamstrings are so sore.

Goal 2: Run at least 2x/week (one run should be a "long" run of at least 4 miles)

I ran today but technically tha at counts toward next week. I feel like a more realistic running goal would be making sure to run at least 1x per week if I attend 3 bootcamp classes. At least until I get a little more used to the sore. I did get lots of extra walking in this week which is not part of an official goal but I feel good about it.

Life- Rangered!

I have managed to hold it together but did have a hard week in terms of feels. Part of this was fueled by hormones...but a hard week. I still stayed busy, did some adulting, cross things off my "To Do" list. Started a new painting project (my dining table).

Goal 1: Apartment search-

Apartment hunting is a challenge. It is amazing how many people just don't get back to you. I finally made some progress with my second realtor, after two follow up emails. Hopefully I will look at some places this week. The first realtor who never got back to me must have given my information to an other person at her agency because I got a voicemail on Friday. I will call her Monday and see what she has to say. I am, as Fonzico suggested, hedging my bets.

Goal 2: Don't isolate- Same as last challenge, I need to be active on the forums and make it a point to stay busy. Reach out to people, make plans, take people up on offers to help.

I have continued to do a pretty good job here. Made it to bootcamp 3x and made a big effort to talk to people and get to know them instead of just showing up for the workout. I spent today with my friend who is visiting and her family. She is staying for two weeks so we will have some extra time together which is nice. As I said before, I have known her and her family literally all my life. My friend and I are actually working on a summer bucket list of things we want to do. I'm pretty excited to try some new things. Also, I told my mother about the breakup. We did not talk about it because I said I was not ready. But I told her.

Goal 3: No stabbing- figured this was worth keeping. I am going to broaden the goal to include avoiding the low road. It does not help the situation and ultimately makes me feel worse. I will confess my indiscretions.

No stabbing, high road taken. No glitter bombs. I do think I need to find a way of being more assertive with my feelings and communication.

I am hopeful that my apartment search will gather momentum now that I potentially have two realtors. I need to work on my "To Do" list for the week. I did mange to fix my exhaust but now I need to schedule my timing belt replacement. I would like to get it done before I start my PT job. I'm realizing how disjointed this is sounding and should probably pack it up for the night. Tomorrow I will get caught up with everyone.

This sounded like a pretty great weekend, all things considered. I'm really impressed with how well you are doing with your "Don't isolate" goal. I can see that you are putting in deliberate consistent effort and that it's starting to pay off.

I have no idea about the realtor etiquette. If you are worried about it, I would suggest just being honest when you talk to one of them (you can also plead ignorance here....this is new to you). You can say that you've had some contact with another realtor, but that things hadn't been moving forward and you are very motivated to find something soon. That would satisfy any qualms you might have and indicate to the realtor that he/she better kick it up a notch.

But I also think it's probably fine to not say anything, I just don't know. I think it's probably fine if they work in different towns, but I could see it getting complicated if they both tried to show you the same place.

Today was a good with some feels. I went to bootcamp even though I was not excited about the WOD. I was also not excited about doing the WOD in the heat and humidity. I'll be interested to see how I feel tomorrow. I did not run any errands post workout because sweat. So much sweat.

WOD

Spoiler

Teams of TWO

AMRAP 7 min

P1: 10 Cal Bike

P2: Max wall ball (we used an 8lb)

Rest 1 min (coach gave us 3)

Score 109

AMRAP 7 min

P1: 7 cal bike

P2: Max air squats

Score 209

Partners switch when calories on bike are completed

Scores calculated by counting total wall balls and squats per/team

Team WODs always make me anxious. I don't really know the people at the gym yet and I am pretty slow. I worry that I will ruin the workout for someone and it gives me gym class flashbacks (picked last always). My partner was cool and not crazy competitive.

In addition to the gym, I did some domestic rangering. Laundry, dishes, mopped floors, and I packed more of my closet. I have lots of clothes and shoes. I also worked on my table project. I managed to distress one leg and played around with different layers of paint on a spare piece of wood.

My "To Do" list for the next few days was made. Number 1 is contacting the realtor who left me a  message. I need to see some properties ASAP. I've never had this much difficulty and lack of options. I also have never apartment hunted with a dog. There are a few other things on the list but I can't remember what they are. That's why I write them down.

Thanks Xena! I struggle with feeling like I'm not doing enough with my "Don't isolate" goal. I think that really has more to do with not working and having so much free time than anything else. The gym really helps in so many ways.

I might mention that I am working with multiple people. At this point I need someone to show me something! I think that working with renters is not a priority for them because it does not make them a tun of money.

I hope one of the realtors comes through for you! Finding a new place to live is hard. I don't think you should feel bad for using two realtors. That's business. The first one to find you something wins.

I'm sweating just thinking of your WOD.  Glad the team thing worked out.  The people where you are training make a big difference...and yours sound really positive!

Good luck with the apartment search.  I'm on board with the idea of throwing any and all resources into it.  Something will turn up!

Quick update because I am working on a serious headache!

I made it to bootcamp today. Today was less cardio (DB snatch, burpees, knee tucks) so I will run tomorrow because my legs feel pretty fresh. Hopefully they will tomorrow. Even if not, I will run just not as far.

I also went to see an apartment. It was small and too far from where I live now (I have lived in or around my town for 20+ years).  Beyond that, it was way more expensive than it should have been IMO. I have emailed and called and borderline harassed...still no progress in the apartment department. Feeling really down about it. I'll start fresh tomorrow. I also have therapy tomorrow which will be helpful.

I am going to take a page from Fonzico here and work on some positive self talk...

I am going through a difficult time but I am strong and getting stronger every day. I have faith that I will find a place to live with my dog where I we will be happy.

Positive self talk seems like just the thing to help.  I noticed you didn't even say one negative thing about burpees.  Rare for these parts :) .  Sounds like a great workout!

Apartment hunting is hard... it's frustrating... You'll find something that will work out for you though! I'm sure of it! Just keep at it. The fact that you are being so persistent is half the battle! You're doing a great job and heading in the right direction, just keep at it!

Today was a mostly good day. I managed some serious feels. Therapy helped. I really had to work at doing something productive and forced myself to get up and work on my table project. I did almost two hours of sanding and distressing. Then I did some apartment stuff. Contacted two properties set up one viewing for next Wednesday. Got a message back from the other but got the message too late to comfortably return the call. This listing stated no pets but I am asking if it is negotiable.

I also got a random call back from an apartment I inquired about weeks ago. She let me know that one room was still available. I told her that I had been interested in renting  the entire apartment for myself. She then called again asking did I already call this number? A little disorganized.

Therapy ran ran late so by the time I got home it was 8:45 and I had only eaten 600 cal so I didn't get a run in. Going to bootcamp in the morning tomorrow.

Positive statement for today:

Some days are going to be harder than others. Today was one of those days but I made it through.

Weekly update: I'm posting a little late because I was away on a mini vacation with my aunt. This is an annual trip we take together to a different relatively local spot. This year we went to Cape Ann near Gloucester, MA. It was beautiful and relaxed. We actually had really nice weather and got a beach day in.

Exercise- Rangered! (Mostly)- Again.

Bootcamp is awesome and I am starting to actually feel like I'm getting better and feeling better after class.

Goal 1: Go to bootcamp at least 2-3x/week

I made it to bootcamp 2x this week. The people continue to be so nice and friendly. I did not make it to class on Friday because I planned on going in the evening but accepted an invitation to spend time with my visiting friend and her family.

Goal 2: Run at least 2x/week (one run should be a "long" run of at least 4 miles)

I ran once this week. I am guessing I got around 3 miles in. It was around 35 minutes. It got cut short by a text from my ex that turned into a heated FTF interaction. I was disappointed because the run felt awesome and I would have easily hit 4 miles.

Life- Rangered!

The consensus is that I am holding my shit together even though it does not feel like it most of the time.  I could be doing a whole lot worse that's for sure

Goal 1: Apartment search-

I can't even! This is so stressful. My search has gained some traction I have seen some places, I have not signed a lease. Honestly, I feel like short of knocking on doors, there is not much more I can do. I have another viewing tomorrow.

Goal 2: Don't isolate- Same as last challenge, I need to be active on the forums and make it a point to stay busy. Reach out to people, make plans, take people up on offers to help.

I have done alright here. I have been less active on the forums than I would like to be but I have been spending time with people. I have been active with the RAGErs. I have definitely been keeping busy. I struggle sometimes with feeling like I should be doing more. I feel like this will change when I start my PT gig next week.

Goal 3: No stabbing- figured this was worth keeping. I am going to broaden the goal to include avoiding the low road. It does not help the situation and ultimately makes me feel worse. I will confess my indiscretions.

No stabbing, high road taken. No glitter bombs. I discovered that finding the balance between assertive and borderline-crazy is not easy.

I hope to get caught up with people tonight and tomorrow.

You have no idea how accurate you were!!! Went to bootcamp today (I also went at 8am on Sunday to make up for missing Monday). Usually I would put my WOD as a spoiler so people can choose to see what the workout was. Not today ALL must know the torture...

7 minute AMRAP...Wait for it....can you guess???...Mother f'ing BURPEES!!!

2 minutes rest

Tabatta

Sit ups

Air squats

Russian twists

I feel like this is the universe dealing out penance for my overindulgence while away!

I went to see another apartment today. It was exactly as expected. Small and dark but affordable. Lots of green area for me to walk the dog. A few minutes closer to work. I also emailed another property and put my name on a wait list for the perfect apartment. I have pretty much decided against the apartment I saw yesterday so I need to contact him.

And I cleaned the dog! Crossed that off last weeks "To Do" list finally.

Wow, it pisses me off when I get texts while I'm running, and those are just normal texts like "wanna meet up for coffee?"  grrr!

Glad you had a nice weekend trip. I keep meaning to go to Cape Ann!

It was the worst!

You should definitely make a point of going to Cape Ann! I loved it. The people were all so friendly, it was totally lacking in snobbyness or fussiness. Absolutely beautiful, great sidewalk for running all along the shore (I didn't get a run in but it would have been scenic).  I also love the history and tradition of the area.

Made it to bootcamp today. Felt good, there were only three of us so it was more personal than last class. Got some pointers on my sit-up form and actually finished before the time cap.

Today's WOD

Spoiler

50-40-30-20-10

double unders

sit-ups

400m run

25 minute time cap

I still don't have consistent double unders I did twice as many singles. I managed to finish in 24:30

I just finished my 1st month and have already started to feel like I'm making progress. I mostly notice that I seem to be recovering faster and my legs are not as sore all the time. I hope I will be able to incorporate more running back into my routine.

I start my PT gig this week and will be working 4 days instead of 3 because of orientation. I will use zero week to see how bootcamp in the evening feels. It is super late (7:30pm) but will keep me out of the house which is good.

My my arms still hurt from burpees!
