Yeah.... Did my first one today. It's going to be a challenge. (Which, considering it is a 28 day challenge, I suppose that makes sense.)

 

Yay for meditation! I love it and always feel better when I make it a regular habit but I'm really bad at making it part of my every day routine.

Hahaha - the HIIT program I'm doing is a 28 day challenge. :) But you're not wrong.

Yesterday was a pretty decent success:

 

Krav Maga (0/6)

HIIT (1/28)

Law School Assignments (0/6)

Handstand (0/25)

Flexibility (1/25)

Calorie Counting (1/25)

Meditation (1/25) 

 

The HIIT workout was pretty intense and I'm super sore today but that just means it's working! It's a 28 day challenge where there are 6 workouts a week and 1 rest day. It's supposed to take 28 minutes and 40 seconds but I add extra rest to them so it ends up being a bit more. I also added 2 miles on the elliptical which was only going to be a 15 minute cool down but I started playing Kingsman on my phone and ended up doing extra....

 

I also really need to buckle down and get my apartment cleaned and start moving - my landlord wants to start showing it and it is definitely not in a state to be shown at all. So. Yikes.

Tuesday was a loss. Did absolutely nothing towards my goals but yesterday wasn't bad:

 

Krav Maga (0/6)

HIIT (2/28) + 75 easy minutes on Elliptical while watching Hulu

Law School Assignments (0/6, Pages read: 0)

Handstand (0/25)

Flexibility (2/25)

Calorie Counting (3/25)

Meditation (2/25) 

 

Also - canceled my gym membership. 

 

Good news: The HIIT/PIIT workouts are working - I'm dying during and after them and am super sore the next day. Stairs were terrifying today. I am going away for the weekend so we'll see if I get a chance to workout at all or if it's just going to be trying to stay generally active. We get the keys to our new house tomorrow and I'm going to slowly start moving stuff in over the next month. 

 

Calorie counting is going surprisingly well. I haven't tried it in awhile because I tend to get obsessively restrictive but keeping an open mindset and having it be an awareness point instead of a weight loss tool is really helpful. 

 

Today - work in the morning, afternoon is packing/cleaning my apartment/breaking down a futon to bring to the new house (crossing my fingers it fits in the car and that I can carry it down the stairs by myself).

I hear ya on the moving. I've spent portions of the past two days cleaning our new house before we move our stuff (which is more complicated because of the timing of our internet installation) so we're trapped in a lingering, limbo where we can only half-ass move and then there's the holiday so when should we bother renting the truck for the big items and so on and so on. 

 

I hope you can finagle your futon, but don't hurt yourself! :D

You mean "I'm already getting stronger," right? :) Don't beat yourself up if you can't keep your workouts going this weekend!

 

I like that you're approaching calorie tracking as a mindfulness tool rather than a proscriptive plan at this point. Just keeping yourself aware of your habits can go a long way.

I'm back. Moving is still happening. Working out is happening less (direct relationship between time left to the end of my lease and the amount I workout). Calorie counting did not happen over the week which is good because too much delicious food and beer was eaten and drank so I'm okay with that not being recorded.

 

Anywho. They'll be better updates coming soon... hopefully.

Heyyyyy Guys.

 

So, I think I'll be putting this challenge On Hold while in the process of moving @Mad Hatter, I have no idea how you did it.

 

I only have 11 more full days of work which could not be done soon enough and I am currently living in an apartment with 0 furniture and sleeping on the floor which is fun. 

 

Working out and eating is not great, but it is what it is and I'm going to accept it until I move into the new place permanently. 

 

I'll still stop by to cheer you guys on though!!

I think your new challenge, at least while you are in this transition is to make it out alive!

 

Get through the last days of work, meditation, movement (whatever form of working out you can do, no stress though) and self care. :)

That's the plan! Stress is giving me mega migraines so I'm doing as much as my head will let me (which is very, very little). Hoping to get moving more soooooon!
