Hi! 

I think this is the right place to ask, but are there any slack liners in here?

I'm usually with the monks, but I am starting to learn slack lining (I still can't stand on it!) and would love to talk to someone that has learned or is also learning. :) It seemed like an assassiny thing to do. :)

Yep, I learned to slackline - mostly variations on the basics, like walking forwards and backwards in different patterns, jumping onto the slackline etc. There's a few clips in the video in the last link in my signature but it's basically what you'd expect :P

 

Feel free to @[name] me wherever you're talking about slacklines and I'll give you the tips you need :) Slacklines are real fun!

2. Because I (don't) feel like it I guess

3. Because maybe it'll turn out alright? But really I just want to eat and not feel guilty about it.

4. Because someone else suggested it and it didn't sound like a terrible idea so I went with it

5. Because I signed up for it so the least I can do is see it through

Save Trillian!

 

I'm stealing Leimanu's grip strength goal. I had been working on gecko fists, got up to 200 fist/splayed hands in a row, then life happened and I'm down to 50 and achy hand tendons. Need to get back on that to save the hands and stop slipping on rails week at parkour. I'll be working those back in and doing Steve's wrist stretches at least once a day this week to combat too many hours of writing papers.

I am going to the Monks to steal Machete's bodyweight workout, but I am going to have to scale it to my ability.  My adaptation will be:

 

Manna - Just steps 1 and 2 of these 4 progressions

Planche - Steps 2-4 of this progression

Handstand - 1 minute supported hand stands, ALAP unsupported, using fingers to minimize movement

One arm chinup - 5 eccentrics/hand

Saving Trillian:

 

Snuck over to the adventurers to steal part of Wolfen's spartan goal:

 

Choose one of the following to practice Mon-Fri

  • gripping: hang from something (money bars, tree branch, etc.) as long as possible, but at least 30 seconds.
  • climbing: walls, playground equipment, fences, trees, ropes, poles, etc.
  • carrying: bucket of rocks or sand, tubs of water (farmer carry), logs/stumps, etc.
  • balancing: find a beam, curb, or other narrow surface and walk across it as quickly as you can without falling; repeat
  • crawling: bear crawls, lizard crawls (low to the ground), crab walk, ape crawl (back straight, knees bent)
  • running: walk-jog-sprint intervals

Sounds like some pretty Assassiny fun to me!

Hello assassins.

 

I signed up for a challenge earlier in the year, but I got KO'd (health, stress, sister's wedding, moving house). Here again. I know I'm late, but I think I'll jump into the last part of this challenge before taking on the next one.

Did some gripping, and a couple of balancing sessions. Meant to do a crawl and climb too, so maybe I'll continue for this week.

That was a difficult aspect to the challenge. How to add another physical challenge without sidelining all my normal ones?

 

Saving Trillian: I completed the grip strength 3 days out of 5 last week. Keeping it moving forward, too.

^^^ This killed me for this part of the challenge.  I got one attempt in at saving Trillian and it came back to bite me in my workout the next day.  I was going to try again this morning, but was so tired out I ended up abandoning my attempt :(
