OMG.  Aikido.  Guys.  Guys.  1) Everything is sore, and 2) we did a technique I totally remembered super-well.  I taught it to my partner based on pure muscle memory and got praise with no corrections from the instructor while I was doing it and everything.  (And this is an instructor who is pretty hands-on with the corrections.)  Man, it's really bizarre how some stuff is totally right there, and other stuff is like "...so let's pretend I've never seen this before".

 

(Also, we did a form of nikkyo that was in that weird gray area of techniques that I think I learned totally differently, but can't remember well enough to be sure what's going on with my memory of it.  Because the technique I don't-quite-remember was different in precisely the way my former style would be different from aikikai: very minimalist, small motions instead of large sweeping ones.  Although, now that I think of it, I think I'm remembering a shoulder grab technique, and what we did today was turning a wrist grab into that shoulder nikkyo, so that sweeping motion probably makes sense.  Okay, existential crisis averted.)

 

Also swords.  Swords are always good.  This guy does a lot of swords, and thus is like my favoritest instructor, or something.  And he always asks if we have requests.  Gonna ask for jo techniques next time, haven't done that yet.

Yay for doing aikido and finding your body remembers!

 

Yeah, the sore that comes from your body doing stuff as if you were still in shape when it's been a while. Incentive to keep with it to prevent that from happening over and over. :D

Some days, making it through is a major win. Just being able to go to bed early shows that you have most things under control.

So it seems I moved the Tardis a week into the future, because I thought this was week 4, and it's apparently week 3.  I CAN'T MAKE IT.  I might need to revamp my challenge for the last week.
