I’ve got my first 10K smack dab in the middle of this challenge. I will be attempting to prepare myself for this hell

so here's the plan:

lift 3x per week

run/hike/cardio 3x per week - first two weeks will be running then the last two weeks will be any cardio i want

burpees 3x per week: 20 per session

yoga 60 mins per week

stay within 2000cals per day or 14,000 cals per week

7/7 & 7/8: Wedding party duties for SO’s brother’s wedding

7/15: Gansett 10K

7/16: Dad’s bday brunch and Kevin Hearne

7/21 – 7/23: Saco River camping and canoe float

right?! so much excite. i saw Blondie with the New Cars yearsssssssssss ago but have never seen Garbage. i listened to the Version 2.0 album like 5 million times on repeat on my discman.

Week 0 – Tuesday

 

back to work and planning mode.

 

picked up my book club audiobook from the library… no way I’ll finish it by the meeting on Friday but oh well

 

made breakfasts for the rest of the week, did laundry, made dinner, prepped lunches. the curry I made was pretty bomb yo. Monday and Tuesday were low calorie days (1580 and 1650) but seeing as I didn’t do any workouts, I’m fine with it. and actually back down to normal weight after a weekend of heavy seafood dishes and dranks.

i used both! about ~2 tsps thai kitchen red curry paste, ~2.5 tsps yellow curry powder (McCormick Gourmet version I believe), ~0.5cup Rao's sauce, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp salt, 0.5tsp cinnamon, 0.25tsp cayenne pepper powder

 

i forgot the ginger and omitted gram masala

 

that spice mixture was plenty for 1.5# of turkey, 1 onion, couple garlic cloves, 1 can of peas, 1 can of coconut milk, and 700g of broccoli (steamed in microwave, #lazycook). total of 3 servings at 570 cals per.

 

seems involved but once you get the spices mixed together it's really simple!

I love this planning sheets. I find them really helpful. I'm glad you do them as it reminds me to as well. :) And else are nerds for?

yesss same! i have most of my workouts in my iCal but i'm not gunna put dinner or laundry reminders in there bc it'll make it too crowded. this way i can see where to fit in all my challenge goals :D

Week 0 – Wednesday

 

ran/walked 3.15 miles in 38 mins

 

at work:

2 planks @ 75s

1 wall sit @ 60s

boat pose @ 60s

lunges @ 60s each

 

went to a brewery in town for yoga and drinks after work! it was fun :D yoga was a lot of warrior poses and planks/side planks/boat pulses/bridge pulses with hip hop music playing in the background. so not my typical yoga scene but fun nonetheless. i had their huckleberry and berlinerweisse beers (one was free with the yoga ticket!) and also a big pretzel came with the ticket! noms. stayed within 2000 cals too!
