Climbed for a little bit after that but most of the routes are harder than I can manage right now so it was a lot of falling and staring at problems I couldn't quite figure out. Then I had some time to kill before meeting a friend for dinner so I decided to walk to the restaurant about 5-ish miles away instead of taking public transportation. It was lovely and continued my 3-day trend of walking a buttload. Workouts: 2/5 Veggies: 3/14 Cleaning: counters 0/2, sweeping 0/2, boxes 0/1 Beautifying: braiding 0/30, lotion 0/1 Day 0.2 Went for another 3 mile run. It was in the morning and slower than my previous runs, clocking in around like a 10:30 pace instead of my more usual 9:30-ish pace, but whatever, got it done. Then I cleared out some boxes, cleaned the counters, and swept. I picked up fruit from the store for my super patriotic pie, which turned out great: And tasted great too. Stopped by a cookout hosted by a local nerd and said hi to some local Camp peeps. I feel like I look like I am gonna beat some kid up and steal their lunch money with this outfit: I TRIED BRAIDING REALLY HARD. It didn't quite work so I added in a hair tie. Sigh. Haha. Workouts: 3/5 Veggies: 3/14 Cleaning: counters 1/2, sweeping 1/2, boxes 1/1 Beautifying: braiding 20/30, lotion 0/1 Day 0.3 I took Wednesday off of workouts for recovery and instead ate my bodyweight in comfort food, took a nap, and tried not to let the hangover dictate my life. Completely unrelated side note: I finished watching the first season of Twin Peaks for the first time last night and YELLED AT THE TV because nothing was resolved, so many more questions were raised, and there are cliffhangers for every single plot line. I immediately got to googling to find a blog or recap or something of that episode and the top hit was about how mad everyone was in 1991 when it originally aired. I found comfort in the fact that my response was so standard that there are ARTICLES about it. Later on, we had a short evening trail race + longer post-race dance party to attend. I unfortunately rolled my ankle like 8x and had to slow down much more than I would have wanted to make sure I was being careful. It seems like it is uninjured, but it just KEPT turning and I was frustrated. But yeah, dance party was fun. It poured rain on us before the race and during much of the post-race party but it was pretty hot outside so no one really minded. After the built-in dance party died down, we tried to go dancing elsewhere but the place was packed and the cover band was not shining, so we wound up eating burritos on the sidewalk and doing an inebriated handstand clinic, among other late night shenanigans. Workouts: 5/5 Veggies: 6/14 Cleaning: counters 1/2, sweeping 1/2, boxes 1/1 Beautifying: braiding 30/30, lotion 0/1 Day 0.7 Continuing the week's trend of ups and downs, Sunday was a down. I had a really nice brunch and went for a long walk, but ultimately went home and took another nap in our arctic air conditioning in the bedroom. That's really the sum of my day's activities. I started watching Riverdale to break up my Twin Peaks binge. It's a gentler kind of melodrama. Workouts: 5/5 Veggies: 8/14 Cleaning: counters 2/2, sweeping 1/2, boxes 1/1 Beautifying: braiding 30/30, lotion 0/1 OK. Now that the two zero weeks are over, I am ready to buckle back in. It's almost like taking a week off of lifting is good for you or something. I'm going to write an ebook about my pizza and rosé filled rest week and sell it under -- Rosé and Slay: Raptron's Guide to Having Your Cake and Lifting It Too. Real talk, we had pizza catered for lunch yesterday so I had pizza for no fewer than 5 meals between Friday and Monday. Pizza-fueled trash gremlin. Workouts: 1/5 Veggies: 2/14 <-- Salad with pizza and then a bunch of sauteed crucifers mixed into my mac and cheese (I didn't specify HOW to eat the veggies :P) Cleaning: counters 1/2, sweeping 0/2, boxes 0/1 Beautifying: braiding 0/30, lotion 0/1 I also made a pan of brownies and a rum cherry sauce to go with them for my brownie sundae needs. That meant I cleaned the counter afterwards because cocoa gets everywhere. Win-win.
