Yesterday night dance and today running has my legs pretty pooped buuut YAY I DID THE THING. I wasn't sure if my running pace was going to be killed because of dance night before but not so bad! My pathetisad 16 min pace held up just fine! I do feel like I am pretty evenly split between running and walking sooo baby steps and slowly shifting to more running than walking is the next step.

 

 Progress for the week so far:

 

Goal 1 - Running - 2 out of 2 per week so far.  Running today at lunch. Not a long run 3-5 because the designated off early for Friday time is being used for a super early happy hour because it occurred to me that is an excellent time to catch up with my retired friends I dearly miss!

 

Goal 2 Aerial & Aerial Conditioning - Aerial class - yep, aerial conditioning - yes! --

 

Goal 3 - Strength - 1 out of 2 per week so far.

Either tonight or tomorrow to round out strength for the week! Hopefully tonight because I also want to train on Sunday sooo rest day is important. (I have been doing one leg assisted dips at work also. Wheee) Obviously this will be an upper body focused strength workout if it's today because yeaaah. Dance = plenty of leg strength stuff!

 

Life Goals

Budgeting -

Adulting - cleaned at least 30 min per week?  Yep! Still waiting on contractor estimate. Wheeee

Week 1 Wrap up

I did pull up progression work and hanging core work to wrap up the second day of this for the week!

In light of me having finished all the budgeting stuff I wanted to do for this challenge I decided I am going to go ahead and add in a macro tracking goal.

 

Also, I really want to lose the rest of my belly fluff and I'm sooooo clooooooose and tracking would be a good idea to make sure that happens. I generally eat well but I know all of my beer "snacks" on the weekend add up. And wellll I eat like an asshole on shark week which was last week but yeaaah. In general having the numbers = good!!!  Also, if I could figure out a way to not suddenly want to eat all the damn grain-y carbs on shark week that would be cool.

Today was run 1 of 2....or I guess kind of 2 of 2 if I decide to count yesterdays walk as a sub for a run?

 

Run today did NOT go well. I was super slow and low energy. 19 min mile you guys. 19 min!  That's pretty much my walking pace =/. I could not get enough running spans going in my run/walk and I ended up being like WHATEVER we're turning this into just a walk for the last 1/2 mile because I was basically walking most of it anyway.

 

Don't know if it was just tiredness from doing walk yesterday and walk today, lack of sleep, or not enough calories for the past few days (now that I'm tracking I see that I have been somewhat under yesterday and today, but not like, drastically under/ I'm still in a would be fine for a cut range at around 1900 calories yesterday.) HMMM.

 

Well. Considering ALL my runs used to be terrible and in the wtf legs too tight oww sort of way, one bad run compared to a few weeks of good ones is OK!

This is true! I did the thing. It was struggle bus, buuuut YAY DID THE THING.

 

Also, aerial went well last night, so I wasn't totally lame yesterday woohoo! I did crossback straddle! FINALLY. It wasn't pretty and I am going to be sooooo sore today, buuuut I did it almost entirely by myself -- my teacher did give me a little push on my legs to get them where they needed to be when I wasn't quite doing my straddle wide enough. Now if I could just consistently get to that spot correctly (by myself!) so the silks stop getting stuck on my butt..... hahahahahahahaha.

Still DOMS buuut amazingly not as bad as I was afraid (I was smart and took advil so I could actually get sleep and properly recover. WHO KNEW?! I always think I should do this and then I don't, but HEY IT WORKED!)

 

Tonight is dance. I think. Also strongly tempted to be a lazy lump because my body still feels pretty tapped out buuuut DAAAANCE and I have some feels to work out and dance always helps with that!

 

Tomorrow is run #2 at lunch and then another 3-5 early bird happy hour becauuuuse DUDE perfect time to catch up with retired friends. Might as well take advantage of this summer 3-5 off on Fridays awesomeness!!! Also, the husbands are coming along plus one of our other campus friends. GOOD TIMES SHALL BE HAD! Almost sad I have to ditch out at 5 but I don't want to make the bf and carmate have to take the bus home on a Friday with shitty traffic!

I did the thing! Yay dancing! I'm always in such a better mood after dance class!

 

Also I am sore. Again? Still? And I stupidly did not remember to take advil before sleeping so I was awake on and off from probably around 4am too sore to really fall back asleep properly -- much flopping! But I knew if I got up to find advil that would wake me up more than laying around trying to sleep. Ugh.

 

Ialso had a dream that I was trying to do laundry and I had a pair of shorts that came with an entire care manual and I couldn't find the specific washing instructions. Weird poor quality sleep dreams? I would call it a stress dream, but it wasn't really stressful just annoying/weird. Hahahahha.

Week 2 Wrap up

Goal 1 - Running - 2 out of 2 per week so far.  Yep! One day run and subbed in a walk for the second run

 

Goal 2 Aerial & Aerial Conditioning - Aerial class - yep, aerial conditioning - yes!

 

Goal 3 - Strength - 1-2? out of 2 per week so far. I am pretty sure I did two days but I forgot to write anything down so I'm not sure. Whoops! I definitely did at least one day and got in some pull up work as well as did some dips one day during the week (which I can't remember what day but pretty sure it was not the same day I did pull up work. HMMM.)

 

Goal 4 - Macro tracking every day- Mostly! I tracked every day during the week but failed at remembering to do this on the weekend. Old habits die hard! (I usually in the past have tracked during the week but I don't on weekends. Goal next week (this week) is to actually track every day. I can do this! Haha)

 

Life Goals

 

Adulting - cleaned at least 30 min per week?  Yep! And I am still waiting on that estimate before I can do anything else on all the reno plans.

H'ok! I decided to run on Monday since I did not get in a run late in the week last week. This run went much better than the one last week and was back to my normal pace of around a 16 min mile. So still slow but the expected amount of slow!

 

Tonight will be aerial. Hoping I manage to do crossback straddle again! I also want to try to do work on straddle inverts on silks to prep for doing straddle climbs and catchers position etc. I can only get there if I cheat it right now (which is fine), but I think I want to try and do conditioning where I can't touch the ground and cheat it. I know I may not actually successfully invert much if I do that but it will build up the muscles sloooowwwly! Plan is to climb up one step and then hang and work straddles for like 10??? reps if I can. Realistically this will probably be split into a few sets because I am weaaaak!
