Love happy puppy photo!!! <3 And don't apologize for not being around. You have had some real life stuff going on. The fact you are still here and updating when you do is amazing <3

Renaissance people came to mind, and Leonardo even if not fictional. MacGiver? The Doctor (from Doctor Who)? They both can do everything with basically nothing and makes me think of perfect rebels.

    Lateral Planet: The Long Night

Although I haven't been very focused on challenge stuff this week I've had a few wins. I've taken a few days off work to catch up on puppy cuddles and do some shopping I wasn't able to do on the weekend. Found a couple of great dresses I could wear to my friends' wedding, and for one of them I had to go back to the rack and get a smaller size. That's always a good feeling! Also, Fiancé's default food court option at that mall is KFC, but when we got there it was shut down. Probably it's just getting refurbished, but for now it's nice not to have the temptation.

LADIES! Can you do a pull-up?

Well, I can still pull up my pants and skirts, but a pull up on an over head bar, not so much. I still have muscle nearing 70, but pulling up my body in hopes of building muscle is something I will leave to the young ladies. I see no point in such behavior, however I can still pull up a rude old man out of his wheelchair and slap him around. Does that count?

Sorry I kind of fell off the face of the earth for a few days there! He's doing much better now, he's home and pretty much back to normal, but as I say it kind of took all my attention so I haven't really been conscious of challenge stuff this week. Thanks! I covered them in fruit to kid myself it was a healthy lunch A day or two later she did ask how it all went so I let her know. She'll do a lighter application and more hairpins on the day. I understand that the heavier makeup comes up great in photos but I kept wanting to scratch my face or blow my nose and my eyelashes kept sticking together so I just couldn't get comfy! I'll look into eyelash tinting as an alternative to mascara and falsies but I think otherwise it's just a matter of practice. Bonus: happy puppy enjoying his spot in the sunshine

I was trying to figure fictional characters lol but nothing was coming to mind. Serah from Ffxii? Or Raphtalia from Shield Hero but that one might be less known lol.
  9. EC wasn't happening (not even close to being able to do 30 in one go) but I did manage in 5 sets (form was probably questionable though)

I sat down next to Fat Kitty on the couch to make sure he’s okay and doesn’t hate me. He rolled over and is now sleeping on me so I guess we’re good. Except for the fact that I can’t reach my food so I’m still going to die.

Soon, we are still unpacking. We are at 32 weeks. Birth center for the birth, no drugs. This will help. https://www.enneagraminstitute.com/type-descriptions the titles of each type are links. Does my water softener make you feel nostalgic? Today is a good day. Grocery shopping in the morning, then unpacking after lunch (which we had at home). We put closet things in their appropriate closets in the guest room and office, then set up the furniture in each. Everything in the house is now set up furniture wise (Still need to get furniture for the nursery). We still need to do wall decorations/knick knacks/empty boxes all over the house, but the furniture is done. Dinner was rice with butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar and a little garlic powder. Also some frozen stir fry veggies cooked in my cast iron skillet with soy sauce, rice vinegar and garlic powder. There was also beef cooked in the same manner, with ground ginger added. The meat and veggies were combined and dressed with black bean garlic sauce. It was very good.

Okay, Ranger Brethren, I have some serious advice to ask. The company that put on the adventure race that I did is actually hiring for an assistant race director. I’m toying with the idea of applying. I don’t know what it would pay or if my career skills would translate but it can’t hurt to ask, right? What do you guys think? https://www.indeedjobs.com/ar-premier-events/jobs/e4443ca7e39057e2d06a

No problem, just thought I'd mention it. <3 If you ever change your mind, I'll back you for whatever mod title you want 100%! My hero! *swoon* Thank goodness, I was definitely gonna need to second this. I think the description is good. I can't decide if it's worthwhile to tack on a "without focusing on a specific exercise type" or something after "healthier lifestyle," but... it does list example activities as ANY, so maybe it's fine. Anybody have any ideas for fictional or real-world examples of Rebel guild types? The only one that comes to mind for me is Korra (Legend of Korra), but I just woke up and haven't fully turned my brain on yet. I'm sure there are more.

I did the test too. I seem to be relatively balanced (or indecisive perhaps) with lots of scores at similar weights. This test reckons I am a 1/5/9. I don’t know what that means Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Recovery and down time [Manarelle]

If you're both determined to avoid spandex, just do both as modern tactical re-imaginings. Both should be relatively easy as fitted combat suits with armor on top. Keep the colors and basic layout similar and you should still be recognizable by fans of the series. A basic tail is actually pretty easy. My first one was just some 4in elastic made into a harness with a heavy-gauge wire to support the stuffed tail. I keep having problems with my tails because I always want to do more than that with them.

Some of the ice cream is non-dairy. I've found that coconut milk is a fully acceptable substitute for heavy cream for many flavors of ice cream. Chocolate, for example. Coconut milk has several advantages, such as being shelf stable for months and being cheaper than heavy cream. The fat content is almost the same, which is why it makes a decent frozen dessert. My friends and I did a lot of speculating on what is going on with the instructor. I'm all in favor of giving someone slack for test anxiety. That assumes that the instructor has seen the candidate perform at a higher level in regular class. On the other hand, aikido is a martial art. The whole point is to be able to react well in a stress situation. Setting up a stress situation is a legitimate part of the test. I am sure that my feeling are influenced by the instructor of the first dojo I trained in. I was told that our shihan (Tohei Akira) wanted his tests to be more rigorous than any of the other shihans. That way his students could travel anywhere and know they were qualified. Apparently our 1st kyu test was pretty much the same as a shodan test at Hombu Dojo. Everyone in the region knew what to expect on the tests because Tohei sensei supervised all the testing himself. My main concern now is that we don't have that kind of consistency and uniform standards in our organization. ____________________ This week is going better than last week at work. We are still short-handed, but not quite so insanely busy. I did weight training three days and aikido one so far, with another session planned for tomorrow. Squats are slowly getting easier. The up part is consistently easy, it's the down part that is challenging. My knees have been happier overall which helps a LOT. I finished reading the book on Zen that I bought last fall. It ends with advice on how to be a good student. "Train hard, train often" is the gist of it. The primary caution is not to become a zen person who does not sit zen. Just reading and talking about zen won't do much. Neither will being mindful in everyday tasks. Not to knock being mindful, but it is not the core discipline. I'm glad I had already resolved to sit every day so the book didn't add to my feelings of guilt. Elf cleaned the bottom half of the fridge yesterday after a marinade disaster. It looks clean and sparkly now. Unlike the top half of the fridge. Cleaning the top half is now on my list for this weekend. Elf and I also had a discussion about cooking and cleaning. We agreed that we will mostly split the work between us and let Dumbledore contribute where he feels like it. Dumbledore is good about dishes, laundry and taking out the trash. Not so much on the other chores. On a hopeful note, Dumbledore told me that he is going to buy vegetables for himself. He wants to take control of his eating patterns and buying (and prepping) veggies is part of it. One of our friends just posted that he changed his eating habits (to mostly Paleo, although he didn't use the term) to control type II diabetes. He has dropped 30 pounds so far and his blood sugar is back into the normal range. I hope that having a friend do it will motivate Dumbledore to do the same thing. Elf has a new job and it is going well. After a slow start, Elf was the only server at the restaurant last night. The place got busy and handled it well. The manager on duty was impressed. On the home front, Elf has been keeping their room clean and put away their clean laundry. No more digging through laundry baskets and tubs for clothes. Elf is justifiably proud of taking control of their living space. The medical things are still a concern, but everything else is looking up.

Urgan Shows Up, Does the Thing

The Ship Who Sang was the most entertaining thing I've read of hers, the premise alone was enough to get through the book and it was short so it didn't overstay its welcome. I've read a few of the Dragonriders series but it never really worked for me. Inoffensive and yet not substantial? Acorna is a Saturday morning cartoon with references to child sex slavery. Which is kind of an odd contrast, if I do say so. Nothing bad is even convincingly possible to happen to anyone, just the looming shadow of a monster that turns out to be a bunny rabbit (or a really, REALLY incompetent suicide bomber....). I don't mind books where no one ends up needing therapy or even a burial plot at the end, it's just, well...comical how it was done here. Granted it may "get better" in later books, but life is short. Another thing that bothered me is characters just picked life partners like they were at a dance and oh look, there's a dude over there. No development whatsoever. Just indicating someone noticed the other person is the opposite gender (This was implied, not literal...literally doing so would require more time than they spent on the subject of characters/relationships that did not involve Acorna being a tall skinny alien who exists) is not sufficient grounds for a change of life plans. Maybe try mentioning what about the other character appeals to them? I dunno, just thinking aloud.

Welp. Looks like I made the right choice after all. The tire can’t be fixed so I don’t have to pay for it. Huzzah. I wasn’t looking forward to paying for a new tire on top of the vet appointment.

Flea Learns How to Human, Part 2

No kitty video yet because they’re all on my brother’s phone and he went back to bed. Also because I'm still fucking at Pep Boys despite getting here at 3:30 for a 4pm appointment for my goddamn tire. And they said was next in line at 5pm. Come to find out we’re responsible for the cost of tires no matter what, unless they’re just bald and need replacing, so I could have gone to the mechanic down the street that my family has used forever. Ugggggh. I’m so fucking hungry. Had a bagel before we went to the vet. Vet took longer than expected so I figured I’d get food from the Dunkins next to Pep Boys while I waited. Then they told me it was going to be quick, so I waited. And now two hours later I’m starving to death. Sad Flea. I was planning on driving tonight because I slept decently well, but now I’m just gonna go home and stuff my face and try to do other productive things. I bookmarked more jobs last night so maybe I’ll apply for something if I don’t die of hunger before then.

Yay for plowing through the books! I have read and re-read a lot of Anne McCaffrey books. More the Dragon ones than the SF. Nice fluffy summer reading. That said, your review does not make me want to go out and pick up Acorna.
