Yes I imagine it does! That seems a little drastic though, I wonder if getting a kitten is a similar deal.

I also use cat litter tubs and they’re fantastic for carries and homemade stuff. Also following.

Yep, I'm a first time challenger, lol

I could totally go for a weekend of camping right about now.... Good job having food planned, removing food decisions at the time of hunger makes everything run smoother

    Challenge accepted!

Well wait no more for running comparisons! Benchmark: Today's run: Not sure what's happening where the pace line divebombs off the bottom of the graph, I think it may just be a GPS glitch because it's happened in two different places and I definitely didn't stop at any point. I'm also a bit skeptical of my heart rate reading hitting 194BPM on today's run.... 180ish? sure! but I'm pretty sure 194 was my watch tripping out. I'm really pleased with today's result of knocking a few seconds off the total time because I'm feeling pretty beat up and tired today. My last run of 6 shifts added up to about 75 hours and up til yesterday I'd had about 3 days worth of sleep over 5 days. Lucky for me last week was an anomaly because I swapped some shifts around. I''ve still done two crossfit sessions and one martial arts session this week and feeling every bit of it! As for my other challenge missions, tracking is on track with logging everything this week so far and just to up things some more I've signed up for what is being called a 10 week nutrition challenge at crossfit but I've been told is more of 10 weeks of brainstorming how to improve nutrition for the long term, not something to do for 10 weeks then revert back because it's too hard. Pushups I still haven't done a second session yet, triceps are still a bit tender now (6 days and counting) so this was definitely an overuse pain, not just regular DOMS. I'll give some a try later today and I'm calling tomorrow a rest day (but still tracking food). There were pushups involved at my martial arts session the other night, but not enough that I'd call it a specific pushup workout, there was much legwork though (oh so much!). Otherwise back to the pushup grind monday as I feel I should be recovered by then.

Thanks! *** Well, another week flew by. Managed to mostly keep up on workouts and I had a few healthy meals. I call that a win for this week. Work is still just as hectic as always, but I'm so burned out. I barely did any overtime at all this week, just focused on my novel. I found an issue with my plot, fixed it and I've started the next chapter. Hopefully I can finish rewriting it this weekend. If there's enough time after all that I want to work on a different project that I've been playing around with, but we'll see.

Daryl of Barbaria - Gets on with some productive sh**.

Tonight I got about 15 - 16 minutes of yoga in, followed by meditation. Doing well on that front. I just need to get one more yoga workout in over the weekend. I spent a little more money and bought a kindle book on the Mayan calendar to compliment the phone app. I've done a little light reading on it, and it seems to be making a bit more sense to me now. I also found some candles on amazon that might be ideal for my meditation purposes. But I will probably wait until payday for that.

Careful with those beer deficits, or you'll end up with a liquidity problem.

The Dadjoke Awakens: Tanktimus Becomes a Parent

I don't have to go back til October 14th. I will say it is a huge blessing being home. Dad's don't get the hormone dump when the newborn is placed on their chest like moms do. I don't know how it goes for other dads but for me the bonding is a process that has happened and deepened each day I'm home with her. If I had to return to work quickly I would have been robbed of all this goodness.

I find if you have a baby a couple of months after buying the house it helps you not to fret about the house so much.

    Bouncer Stays Connected

I know it's cliche, but the one-foot-in-front-of-the-other thing has power to it. Just commit to 5 minutes of work. Then do another 5 minutes. And then another 5 minutes. Now you've done 15 minutes, and you will want to do another 15. Even if for no other reason than to tidy up the loose ends from the first 15, out of spite. This is something my wife taught me. Spite can be powerful. Use it as an outlet to produce good things. She calls it her spite-let (spite + outlet).

Looks like you are feeling some success, and some well-deserved pride. I certainly won't be the one doing any bubble-bursting. We like bubbles here.

Thanks. We actually keep the thermostat at 72. All the literature says keeping the temp there or a little lower is helpful to prevent SIDS. I could tolerate it, I handle cold quite well. Sra. Tanque would, however, not prefer such a cool temp. Everything I've read about sleep suggests you sleep better in a cooler house. Today was a good day. I got some Yoga in. We had sandwiches for lunch and leftovers for dinner. We are getting a bit stir crazy, but I don't wish I were back at work. I still really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, love our daughter.

I use cat litter tubs and fill them with water, but those might be a little bulkier than you're looking for. I have cats, and the litter tubs are just handy to fill up and keep around the yard for when I'm in the mood to lift something. They're great for curls, rows, or farmer carries.
