  2. I like the way you think! Hi Friends, Another quick one here, I got some papers to edit! I woke up and repeated the 60 minute walk + run from Peloton app. I felt much better about this one from the last one. Not sure if it was my mindset (I started to talk about dreading it and stopped it to tell myself it was going to be a good run and I can stop anytime if it becomes too much without there being an issue). Managed a solid 4.4 miles but in these hills that's a lot, especially since it's a pyramid and equal parts run and walk: 1 min walk, 1 min run, 2 min walk, 2 min run all the way up to 5 mins of each and then back down to 1 min each. Plus warmup and a minute cooldown. I took the dogs for a walk after to cool down further and make them happy (they were pouty and mad because I went on a "walk" without them) Food is good. My beef (venison) and broccoli turned out really delicious and I have some left over for lunch today. The Man is going to make me some fish tonight for dinner (he makes it on the stove, I've only ever made it baked. His is delicious though). I had PB oats with blueberries this morning after my run and a banana before my run. The banana didn't sit well until about 20 minutes it, but at the end I was glad to have it since I didn't have my usual cramps or lightheadedness. Editing papers for the Man today and getting an outline to better describe what the BigProject is which is due next weekend for the Man to do. He's got an A in both classes and we're coming up on the end! Whee~ Mundane Magic is going well. I've slacked these last few days on Rune and Oracle but the other habits and rituals are doing well which is important. Budget .... well I spent a good chunk hiring a coach. It's $200 a month for 4 months or $700 for 4 months which is where we're starting me off. Typically it's 6 months but I'm ahead of the game with my knowledge and the fact I already have a fairly healthy routine in place. I took the discount and paid up front. Plus that locks me in for 4 months to get my money's worth and I need that level of accountability. Our primary focus is nutrition since it's where I feel the least confident and need the most help. I will have some help/guidance on exercise and mindset, too, though, which is nice. This is an investment in my health. It's significantly pricier than my monthly gym membership but now that is switched over to the First Responder rate (free), that frees up a bit of money as well. I feel like I can pay off that card in a fairly short time and be able to take advantage of the discount over spending the $200/month. I'm also hoping getting help with nutrition (specifically meal planning in a way that I'm not tossing 2-3 days worth of food because I'm absolutely sick of it) will help me reduce my grocery bill to help make up for the cost. It all works together in the end. Anyway, I gotta go edit this paper now so I can attempt to meal plan (coach gave me a great idea on our call today that I think I'm going to implement next week). Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy/stormy so I think I'm going to try to get groceries then in case Sunday turns out nice enough (supposed to be a bit chilly) we can kayak and/or fish. Love you all sooooo much ❤️ Thanks for sticking with me through this super hectic time with work
  3. Micky Overman is a Dutch comedian, writer, and slayer who works as a nanny in the UK. She slays with her unique perspective on all things British, even having lived in the commonwealth for a bit where her Vancouver improv experience gave a slightly Canadian edge to her English accent. An accomplished slayer, she was a finalist in Funny Women and Leicester Square New Comedian in 2016, and in 2018 she was a Chortle Best Newcomer Nominee, and then wrote and performed her first solo show 'Role Model' at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. About her career, she writes: "When I was 3 years old, I tried to impress my sister's friend Jesse by falling off my chair. I like to think my passion for comedy was ignited at the same time as my passion for boys, and as Jesse did not respond to my advances in any way, both are firmly rooted in failure." First leg day in two weeks on Tuesday. The doms are still real, 3 days later. da fuq Cutting my duolingo-by-noon goal for the rest of the challenge. Still a behavior I want as a habit, but I'd rather enjoy the success of the other habits that are going green this month, and wait until May to work on the early duolingo habit. Went to see a cute and v modest little house on Wednesday, but our poor realtor was still recovering from a cold and accidentally walked us through a mansion that we could never afford. The raw pornography of how much space that place had, all three of us got slightly drunk on the feeling. When we finally got to the modest little house afterwards, it had no yard ✅, was across the street from Liam's jujitsu gym ✅, and was walking distance from a great park and great coffee and my drum circle ✅. Plus the neighborhood is safe enough for Laura to walk the dogs at night, if she feels like it ✅ (our dogs are pad trained so Laura can take care of them if the boys are out of town and she has an FMS flareup). Buuut it's over the boundary line into the more posh area, so it's also a budget stretch. Still nice to see the different options well before we plan to make an offer on a house later this summer. Bury Me Beneath the Willows - getting used to more rounded picks lately and enjoying the softer feel but it's def an adjustment. Banjo bob says that me learning to have a more assertive sound is pulling my beginner banjo strings out of tune mid set, and that I've maybe outgrown my beginner banjo. Makes me happy to hear but now I need to save pennies for a better banjo. Good news is with Bob's connections, I'll pay half price on a performance banjo once I have a little nest egg. Liam is at a Chicago event this weekend and I'm a bachelor. I'm torn between binging Solasta or Pillars of Eternity I. Hrm.....
  4. I'm here to ask this too! I hope you are enjoying your day with Dave before working tomorrow and that all the fugg from the Doldrums has blown away. Nothing but blue skies ahead, Beautiful Friend. ❤️
  5. Aiieeee, that sounds painfully familiar. Although I mostly relied on chocolate, not ice cream or whiskey. I feel like I am only a few steps on the path to healthier strategies. There is less chocolate.

  10. Lift. 2x week. It didn't work last time, let's try it again, eh? Monday & Saturday mornings. It doesn't even have to be the program, FFS. Just move something heavy-ish up and down a few times. Walk. 2x week. Before work, when possible to avoid the heat. Alcohol. None on weeknights. Snacks. Think about when/why. This is often due to boredom. Fix the boredom with something other than food. ----- Yesterday (Thursday) was not a lifting day I did not purposefully walk, but a couple errands in the morning meant my Garmin auto-detected one. No alcohol yesterday Snacks are.. snacky. I did not do the dishes yesterday I did dye my hair I did sew. I would like to be done with this project sooner rather than later.
  11. Wow y'all I am such a fucking useless bag of human flesh. Just had a major meltdown over not being able to tie a string on the back of a picture frame that I've wanted to hang on my wall for the past *checks notes* ....8 years. The crying, hands shaking, mom-has-to-do-it-for-me kind of thing. Like...I don't even have words to describe how fucking useless I am at life. "But at least I can work!" I used to tell myself, except the last 2 days have been such an executive dysfunction hell that I've only done like 10% of the things I wanted to get done and everything is like this and I leave for a trip on Monday and FUUUUUCKKKKK. And when the picture frame is finally put up (can I operate a hammer and a nail properly, or will that be daily meltdown #2? It is a mystery!) I'll probably be reminded of this every time I look at it 🙃 Living independently is looking more and more like an unattainable goal. Fuck everything. (Edit: the reason why this is relevant to this challenge is because this picture frame has been on my desk for the past 8 years and is currently the last thing I need to deal with to FINALLY unclutter the desk. But of course "hang a picture frame" has to be an Extreme Challenge all on its own. FML.)
  12. W4D5: we ran out of DPZ, so I had a can of regular DrP in the morning along with a bag of Cheetos puffs I snagged on the way to work. Lunch was the meal prep. In the afternoon I got hungry again so I ran out to the mini-mart for another bag of puffs and a king-size Reese's. After work I ran a couple errands on the way home and added another Reese's. For dinner at home MFG made tomato sauce with spicy Italian sausage links. I boiled 2 servings of GF spaghetti and topped it with sauce and cheese, but I avoided the sausage links since spicy doesn't always agree with me and I still had to go to band practice. After band I was still hungry, like ravenous, so while I was at the store picking up a few things for MFG I also grabbed some ground beef and a bag of chips so I could make another dinner when I got home. I pan-seared a cheeseburger patty and made a lettuce wrap, then I ate that alongside a big bowl of chips. And when all the food was gone and I had finished cleaning the kitchen I sat down with a "pint" of chocolate peanut butter Haagen Dazs and watched some TV for a while. 5175 kcal, and I honestly still felt like I could've easily eaten another thousand before bedtime. I have no idea why I was so hungry, but I just didn't have it in me to fight it. I probably could've made some better choices quality-wise, but my options are also pretty limited. At least I enjoyed the day. Probably going to write off the rest of this week, take the L on Sunday morning, and then try to hit it hard next week to close out the challenge.
  13. Oh hi! I am alive, and I am doing well! I am just not updating and I have no idea why. Ooops.
  14. My dentist office has TVs on the ceiling above the dentist chair and they give you the remote. But then the hygienist gets all up in my face for some reason and blocks the TV! 😁
  15. Hey all, We have been doing alright at sticking to our meal plan. Mr.R added in a few items he wants over the weekend like a deep dish pizza and a burrito from a place nearby we haven't tried? I only know 1 place where they have that. Which it's his money so he's more than welcome to get that stuff if that is what he wants. I haven't seen Daisy this week but that is okay. There were only 2 nice days and I was at my parents working for both of them. I didn't feel like going on the other days because it was raining. I was supposed to go back to my parents today but that only thing she really wants done today is to start moving her donate piles out of the house but it's raining and aside from that she isn't really sure. I have learnt from past experiences that it's better just to stay home if she isn't sure about what she wants to do because then I just sit there twiddling my thumbs and waiting around for her. My plan today is to work on my coding projects and continuing learning Angular / applying what I have learnt to projects.
  16. Hey I love that you found some ways to bring in some extra cash AND I love that its by sharing knowledge you already have to help people. I am definitely team stay sober You are strong, you are beautiful and you are amazing. I hope your head feels better, its so hard to get things done when you feel poorly. Can you try a bit of caffeine or aspirin? Also your ex landlord is a piece of work. Can you just block him and move on with your day? I highly doubt you did any damage to the place to warrant him getting an additional 2.5k.... He sounds like a bully and perhaps this worked in the past so people wouldn't need to deal with him. As for your question about if you should do a trade or not (if you need money in the future).. Perhaps you could get into something like welding which you could use in your art. I am not sure how it is there but I have heard theres always welding jobs available here and its one of the easier trades to get into. That is all hearsay but might be worth it to look into. My friends mom does beautiful metal art so that is why I am thinking maybe its a skill that you can use for your art but also find jobs when you need a boost in income?
  17. Ah well. At least you were warned. chances are you might bump into your ex character as undead if thats what you where investigating. That would be my evil twist as a dm
  18. Yeah, it was actually a really fun session. Annoying not to be able to take the character concept to a high enough level for any of it to work, but that's the way the dice roll. Also, I 100% could have run away, rather than trying to be heroic and getting myself killed. Some of the others not so much Yeah, though to be fair there was nothing accidental about this . Posions/curses l/diseases are good when they're interesting - when they just put a road block in the game not so much. I'd take diseases being interesting but not stopping you from playing over realism in that case. Nah, we're level 1. We onew what we were gettibg into when the GM suggested we roll up 2 characters before the game started - this adventure path is notoriously lethal. That said, if I need a new character in a year's time I might resurrect him then, if I can find a thematic way to do it. Or I could just introduce his identical twin
  19. Woke up tired, I seem to be yo+yo’ing between good and bad days energy wise at the moment. Not sure what to do about that, but probubly pacing myself and resting is in order. Glad i went out yesterday though as the cloud has decended and it has all gone grey out there again. Had a miscellaneous crud that needed doing day so lots of driving around. Had a lovely wrap and sweet potato fries in one of my fave cafes overlooking the sea though, which was lovely. pretty burnt out now though so need to rest. getting some quiet recharging time in the afternoon is going well, actually napping is intermittent though so maybe putting more effort i to that would be a good plan. onto reading Minx by julia quinn, which is one of the books is scored yesterday. Its one of her early ones, and not quite the same complexity of plot as the more recent series ive read by her. Enjoying it though as lighter reading is what i need right now. Cant believe its only 2pm. Feels like its 6 in the afternoon right now. Seemingly one of those days that drags on and on today.
  20. Plan for yesterday Listen to praise music✔️ Put lotion on feet✔️ Work✔️ Drink bottle of plain water✔️ Shower✔️ Tidy around chair Tidy around night stand✔️ Start meal planning✔️ Brush and floss✔️ In bed by 10✔️ Plan for today Listen to praise music Put lotion on feet Work Drink bottle of plain water Tidy around chair Make grocery order Brush and floss In bed by 10
  21. Sorry to hear you guys had a partial TPK dude. Any chance of resurrecting you all?
  22. Pathfinder is pretty brutal. It is really easy to kill players accidentally in it as a DM ive been told. we definitely ran away a decent amount playing 2e. Plus the poisons/curses/diseases are not fun and very hard to get rid of.
  23. I actually love this. So many RPGs these days go to such lengths to make character death nigh impossible even with lots of effort, unless it's "dramatically appropriate" (plot armor, much?) so it ends up being a no stakes game going from one place to the other without much challenge and the thrill to go with overcoming said challenge. Life sucks and some times things go wrong, not because you made a mistake but because of a dice roll or something completely out of control. You learn to take the hits, lick your wounds, get pissed off and come back stronger.
  24. Week 3 wrap-up Week 3 was so long ago I don't remember it, and I've talked about most of it anyway, but the final scores were: The cartographer: 3/7 days doing art. Appears this very much dropped off at the weekend. The muscle: 6/7 days kneehab. Saturday was tricky as I was out drinking and eating amazing food for most of the day, but otherwise we're good here.
  25. Pathfiner update I'm super far behind on updating, so let's start with the important stuff! We had Pathfinder on Tuesday night, and we went to explore the cellar of the abandoned house we were in. We found a creepy chair-device use to create undead from the living, but before we could examine it we were attached by a giant, hideous leech creature (a leecher? A leeture?) Our wood kineticist was first in the firing line - the leecher grabbed him immediately, dealing a bunch of damage, and then drained all of his blood in round 2. Meanwhile the rest of us failed a bunch of knowledge checks to identify the thing, but we did learn it was weak to fire. I spent an entire round trying fashion a flaming arrow, before missing it entirely the following round. At this point, in real life, I went to the bar. When I came back our rogue was also unconscious and drained of blood, and the kineticist was losing his final grip on the mortal realm. Trying to be heroic I dragged the kineticist out of the way. Then I stepped up to the creature, turned back to my companions, and told them to run. And then I blew up my mechanical composite bow, in a blast of fire. Funny thing, turns out that this creature wasn't weak to fire . We'd failed that check too. Our druid dragged the rogue away, whilst the creature was busy leeching unlife out of the summoner's shadow companion. To save the shadow, and deprive the leecher of another meal, the summoner pulled out a dagger, cut off his own shadowy hand, and the summon winked out of existence. The kineticist breathed his last, failed his recovery check, and died. Then the leecher turned on me. He rolled a fucking crit, grabbed me, and drained me dry all in one turn. Whilst the druid fled with the rogue's unconscious body, the summoner hung back to try and save me. A brave choice, but a poor one, as the leecher managed to get close enough to him to drain all of his blood as well. So, after session 4 of this campaign, 3 of the 5 PCs are dead and we were quite frankly lucky to escape a TPK. Tune in next week to meet our new characters, I guess!
  26. Wow, yeah, that sounds really full on. I'd like to give something like that a go - I appreciate that sticking a blindfold on for a few hours is not the same as experiencing what it's like to live as a blind person, but it sounds like it would still be a thought-provoking experience. Yeah, it's a fair point, I shall try not to get too hopeful. It's just such an usual presentation of symptoms, I'd like to get more than contradictory guesses from different physios. That would be great, thanks so much for the offer. So at the moment, physio exercises are: - single-leg, bent-leg calf raises - 1x20ish - single-leg squats, focusing on glute engagement, straight back, knees not tracking past toes - 1x12ish Doing that every day is easy, I mostly do them betweent sets at the gym, and as it's only 1 set of each it doesn't take long if not. The call I had with a different physio to book the MRI suggested doing them less than daily (maybe 3x per week), but doing 3-5 sets. I haven't implemented that yet; would need to find a good way to fit it in. Unrelated, the single leg squats are definitely doing something even with low volume, because my pistol squats have improved about 500% in the last 2 months. I also decided last weekend to try and do some ankle exercises when I've got free evenings sat on the sofa - specifically these ones from GMB: https://gmb.io/feet/ . So far I've only done them twice, but it feels like even a couple of times per week they might be useful. I've also noticed that doing the ankle circles whilst weight bearing on the ball of my foot seems to aggravate the same area of my knee as running, which is interesting. My gym coach has got me doing eye focusing exercises, which are in theory 20 seconds 3x per day (actually doing 1-2). In terms of general exercise, I'm in a crossfit-style gym Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri (1 hour each), and I go cycling Tues, Sat, Sun (probably 2 x 40 minutes and 1 x 90-120 minutes). I also go bouldering Wed and Sat, for anywhere between 1 and 3 hours of chilled-out climbing.
