    Restart from last save point?

So I wasn't able to get an obscene amount of bacon at the diner. But some was still awesome. And an honest talk about expectations and perceptions was helpful. So was some sleep and enough water.
  3. Mad Hatter

    Mad Hatter gets lazzzzer focused!

Sunday I did the second handstand factory session, which consisted of 10-30 tuck jumps (pretty sure I did 35 because I count), 3x 3-6 wall tuck slides with 3-5 second pauses in the tuck and 3x3-6s wall straddle opens, with 3-5 second pauses in the straddle. The last exercise is getting into a straddle HS against the wall, then using the side butt to open up the legs enough that you get pulled into a freestanding handstand. Not to over inflate my ability haha, but it did surprise me that I found it heavy towards the end. Clearly I'm not used to the lean. But I did like the straddle opens as an active flex exercise. I didn't follow up with any freestanding work because I was running late for climbing, which was fun! Lots of slabby, balancy climbs which made it very obvious how much my climbing technique has plummeted. It's fine. At the end of the session I did all of 1.5 pull-ups, just to test them. There's work to do. And then we got chatting about losing our splits, and I mentioned that I haven't been able to do the splits for like 2 years? And then I tried one and I got all the way down on my left, pretty square too. I have no clue where that came from, but I'll take it! Even my right split was decent, which has historically been much, much worse since I injured that hamstring years ago. Yay!

    RES: RE-Commit

It was amazing...and I'd never done anything like that either, which is why I'm very glad I got to experience it! Thank you my friend...don't think I've completed a baby blanket since I was pregnant with mine The Plan....Week 3 Run: I'm following NYAR 10K training plan currently, so points for when I do what is scheduled (including rest days) 4/7 counting the 2 rest days on the plan, last Sundays bike ride and yesterdays walk...no real excuse except I let my inner mean girl talk me out of getting up and working out...Re-committing to this next (this?) week! Eat: Continue making the 24 hour plan, eat on plan when hungry, stop when full. 7/7, few times I almost let myself go too long, I've noticed a tendency to overdo when I'm really hungry Calm: Three times a week (at least) take time for me, this can be journaling, crocheting, or time to read. This also includes excursions with friends, or anything else I want it to! 5/7, work on the baby blanket and having D out of town for work this week contributed to this more than I wanted I had an unexpected reduction in the number on the scale this week, I didn't do anything different except go back to sleep instead of the gym and lost 2 lbs. I'll take it
  8. all perfectly acceptable reasons...I wouldn't call it 'tanking' (although @Tanktimus the Encourager is awesome so maybe we can redefine 'tanking' )

  13. Week 4 The holidays are upon us, with it that for a lot of us, it means extra stress. This week take some time to meditate or a yoga routine you enjoy...or both...I recommend both!
  14. I have a confession to make, I've actually been doing this one all year, it's an idea I stole from a Facebook group I belong to. I have to say it does work for me.

    Bonaventa's Lost & Found

Here I am at the dawn of time. Again. This time of wellness to not make time for illness. It's been a rollercoaster to say the least and somewhere on my journey I lost my path and am stumbling through the woods, a bit disoriented but since I'm writing it down here, I feel confident in my abilities again. Now there's a win already! I have several goals but this time, I'm toning them down a notch. There is already so much pressure from work and family - and let's be honest, mostly myself - that if I cannot control other people's behavior, at least I should be kind to myself. Now, let's see what we got: Goal 1 Nutrition: I want to meal prep every Sunday that is followed by a work week. I get terribly hungry around lunch time and it is better to prepare before I eat up all the cookies around the office - and we have loads... I also want to only eat 2 units of sweets per day, i.e. one cookie at work and maybe one piece of chocolate at home. Or if anyone brought cake into work: one piece of that and one virgin cocktail after hours and then that's it. Goal 2 Training: Strength train twice a week for at least 3 months as well as do one handstand exercise from the NF Rings&Handstands - since I bought it, might as well use it! Goal 3 Yoga: Attend Monday yoga class at least 9 times in the next 3 months (including Holiday season) as well as practice at least 15 minutes on my own on 5/7 days of the week (here all kinds of yoga are allowed; breathing, meditating, asanas,...). Goal 4 Adulting: Adulting is hard work and there certainly are more days than I like to admit when I want my mommy to come back and take control over my life But let's be realistic, I can do it all on my own if I show up for myself and with showing up I mean: On Saturdays check in with my budget and finances. Also, hoover every Friday even if it is just me and the cats in the house - clean the cat hair, Bonaventa! Last but not least, even if it is your most unwelcome chore in the world: Wipe down those floors on the first day of every month. Come on, that is not too much to ask! Remember how good it feels when it's done? So this is the current 3 month plan. I'll track my progress this time to see progress and a big check-in in March

I feel off a day. I keep forgetting today is Sunday and I have work tomorrow. Which means I need to come up with a dinner that will have enough for tomorrows lunches.

Sara Kingdom's All's Fallow Eve Challenge

God, rest is hard. I had a bath. I stayed there for the whole half-hour to encourage good sleep and soak up my magnesium through the skin. It felt great, especially for my hands, and that was part of why staying in that bath so long was so hard. I resisted getting out to move on and check the next thing off. I went to bed. I left my phone elsewhere, cuz I sleep better that way, even if I hate it. That was super hard, especially when I woke up after three or four hours and couldn't get back to sleep. For a really long time. But no, I lay there and rested. I even resisted all my brain's attempts to convince me that just doing this or that little thing would help me get back to sleep faster. I think the headache contribution to the brain fog comes from tension headaches; I'm carrying some stress in my face and shoulders that doesn't help.

B'ker, 2nd verse same as the first

Week 3, Day 6 - Saturday Sleep was 7:47 I went out and took care of the dog, came home and had breakfast. Then I went to the restaurant and worked with another group of the new people and one of the few returning employees on more cleaning (construction has created what appears to be an endless supply of dust everywhere). We worked there until early afternoon, then came home and had lunch. During lunch, one of my gaming group texted to see if we were on for that evening. I agreed as scheduling has been hit and miss lately. I straightened up the living room and made sure game supplies were ready, then went out to take care of the dog for the evening. While I was there, the boss decided we needed to do some rearranging of things he had stored in his barn/shed. So we spent a little while doing that before I came home and met the guys for gaming. We finished the current scenario and wrapped up a little earlier than usual. Then I had a late supper and relaxed a little before heading to bed. Walking was 5.97 miles, reaching next milestone - Sam Spots Gollum Calories came in a little high but not bad. Calories In Calories Burned Net 3135 cal 2857 cal 278 cal

    Ignimbrite smash

Gosh, that will be a challenge BUT you can totally do it! From what I have observed here in loving-beer-drinking-Germany is that if you tell everyone that you don't want to drink alcohol anymore - at all! - they will usually ask why at first, but then just accept it. (Except family, but oh well…) That's what I have seen with friends who chose to quit drinking alcohol as well as me choosing to stop eating meat. I believe in you! And don't beat yourself up, if you slip up - just never two in a row, right? :) Yay, driving wherever you and Falkor wanna go! I have no idea about fire fighter life but go you!!! Oh gosh, I get it. In summer I'm a sweaty mess ^^' But I have found biking to be better than walking because of the wind and the reduced time it took me to get where I wanted to go. Though getting off the bike usually includes a short hot flash. :D Do you have to take the clothes with you or could you also store some clothes at work or the fire department so you don't have to run around with a gigantic backpack with all the clothes and shower items? Maybe you needed a weekend off to rest and recover from the soreness? I'm awful at resting but I follow this CrossFit athlete on Instagram Lauren Fisher and she recently talked about how important it is to give yourself and your body some rest to do better overall. And, I mean, if the top athletes tell you to rest a day between sessions, than who am I to disregard that, right? :D

Mel The Hangry is making changes

Week 3 Update I am creating a Meal Planner based on a design I found which had a rotating 6 week worth of dinner plans, but changing it to suit me, as we tend to decide what we are having for dinner daily after work and the conversation usually goes 'what do you want?' 'I don't know, what do you want' etc. But if I can look at a sheet and say this when we can't think of something, then we'd be set and maybe not need to do a quick shop every day to. On Monday I almost didn't overdo the sugar until my husband brought home chocolate biscuits... oh well. Friday - I'm feeling overwhelmed, it was sparked by a busy day at work but overflowed into my personal life: My health is better but still sucks, and feels like an expensive uphill battle. My house needs some real work I need to put more/any effort into keeping it nice and clean. My workout game is non-extant. Too many emails always coming into my personal emails. My money goals are going nowhere. And stuff/things in general. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I also don't want to spend/waste all my time on the above either... I have just found out my cortisol is low, my thyroid is high, my iron is low and I'm also low in a few different vitamins to, maybe when/if this gets fixed I might have energy for things... And then I ate sugar when I got home ☹ Saturday - I'm feeling better than I did yesterday but I do need to get my s#*t together though. I'm creating a my level 50 list so I can try to get there one day. Sunday - Winston and Hank got their photo with Santa today pictured below. I haven't done that great with sugar this week but I'll keep trying. I met my Yoga goal this week Yeay! I got close to my Meditation goal this week so kinda Yeay.

    TiogaGirl Tracks, Moves, and Sleeps

Well... I did not finish the book club book [Fiskadoro]. Had fine intentions but it was confusing and kept putting me to sleep, so I spent the afternoon drilling choir songs for next week’s gig. The club itself was fun as always, even if the book did not wow any of us! Just nice to spiff the house up, hang with friends and eat awesome cheese and grapes. We had gotten some Red Lion cheddar that was super Aley and mustardy, it was fabulous and I thought the best cheese of the night! Weak points challenge wise, I lost track of tracking once the book club commenced; and was certainly over calories; and stayed up late by my standards. Strong point was not boozing it up or in fact drinking at all! Food/Tracking, nope water, meh AF, +1 Lifty +2 steppy +1 up by 6, not quite early bed, not at all checking in and copping to the good, the bad, the ugly +1 Week 3 points work out to 55, or about 65% of points available. It was a tougher level, scoring wise though, so I’m pretty happy. Better than if I were not playing along this challenge for sure!
