    Lateral Planet Runs Fast

*waves* hi, sorry I missed last challenge, I kinda got beat up a bit. I am sure you will do great. Here to cheer you on.

    Dalish Clings to the Wagon

Good luck. I am glad to hear that aside from the chest infection you are doing okay. Good luck.
  4. Wobbegong

    Wobbegong: A Creature of Habit

Walked to sea, did part of promenade, got rained on, took over three gyms, bolstered the team at a fourth Tidied room!!!! Dinner hopefully successfully skipped. Ghrelin wave subsided. Same mysterious bug outbreak as last year, once again traced to donation broom??? Broom moved outside, many bugs squashed. I was all ready to sit down with my mending and be properly domestic but I can't find any black thread. So the torn seam in my black pants will be mended in burgundy. Today one of my coworkers (a new teacher at the school I have never before spoken to) suddenly started telling me that he's trying to lose four kilograms BY TOMORROW for the health check. This was at four in the afternoon, so I think it's probably too late, dude?? Apparently the health check cutoff is 69kg and he's currently 73. (For the record, last year I weighed in at 94.5kg and suffered only a C grade for it, which is not failing. So I'd think he'd be fine, but maybe he's on a different metric than I was.) He asked me what I'd do, and not having any experience with sudden weight loss, I told him wrestlers on my high school team used to sit in a sauna and sweat as much as possible to make weight. He said he didn't have a sauna, which is reasonable lol. So then I told him he could force a big bowel movement by drinking salt water, but that will probably help his waist measurement more than his weight. Only after I went home did I realize it might also counteract any attempt he makes at sweating out his water weight. But THEN, after he had transitioned from talking to me about it to explaining his situation to the school secretary, he told her he'd been eating only vegetables for days. So now I'm worried when he, uh, "purges," it'll be painful because of all the extra fiber in his system, AND worried that he'll bloat somehow and weigh more. Regardless, the day before is way too late, and I'm sure he won't blame me, but he started drinking salt water immediately so if he comes in heavier than 73 I'll feel really bad lol. I assume he came to me because he knows I'm on a diet, but it's not a crash diet! I've been eating like this for months and while I've made inroads they've been modest. I hope everything works out for him! I won't see him again until Wednesday, so I'll let you know then.

    Wobbegong: A Creature of Habit

I know I hate vacumming since we have SO MUCH HAIR in this house, well we burn up vaccums about every 6 months. Like let the smoke out burn up. so we went to all hardwood or tile. I can't burn up a broom and it is way easier on the budget to replace. I think most of it is the "Okay, run it over this spot twice, now 3 inches to the left, and repeat, is probably why everyone hates vaccuming. Oh I know, and I was trying to find a way to be joking about admin power abuse, but I couldn't come up with anything that didn't sound like I was really calling you two out for it. so instead the "don't look at me" post

    Waanie sets a routine

Actually, a few hours after I typed my last comment, my hip really started playing up after my run . I just went to a physical therapist, and my running technique is causing problems with two muscles. I'm not allowed to run this week, and have some exercises to stretch up the muscles and improve core stability. The good news is that I'm allowed to walk, even though it causes a little pain, but yeah, not good.

  10. Mad Hatter

Where did all the adamantium go?

This is great, focusing on the process instead of outcome. Yay! I have to say it's been so so inspiring to see you fighting hard against mental monsters. It's really admirable and courageous and I'm really happy for you that it's working. Woot for the level up, well deserved!

    Dalish Clings to the Wagon

No frills, no bells, no whistles. I'm sliding in on the tail end of a chest infection and a whole lot of busy. I've suddenly developed a social life for the first time in 30 years, and I've still go schooling going on. But no matter what, a girl's gotta eat. Breakfast: Bran, yoghurt, fruit. Lunch: Wrap, carrot sticks, hummus. Dinner: Whatever as long as it's home made and healthy-ish. Dinner I eat daily, but I tend to skip the rest which leads to binges. I can eat the same thing day in day out without getting bored mostly, so four weeks testing this out, see where the tweaks need to go. That's it, c'est tout, das ist alle.

I like this analogy! I also think you did awesome this challenge considering. Even with the sickness you never stopped or gave up on the challenge, you kept doing what you could.

Stribs Lays the Foundation for Summer

Okay guys. Here we go. Today is my actual, legit, real day 1. Hubs is gone for the week, which is always nice at the beginning of a challenge because, don't get me wrong, I love him, but he can eat 234567876543 calories and stay looking fit, and he always wants to eat out...while me over here, my pants are a bit snug! I'm doing a hard reset this week, focusing on eating whole foods from my house, and taking the week to remember that cooking meals doesn't have to be hard. This will get a bit tricky this week, seeing as 2 nights I'll be at school til around 7, BUT the plan is to make a huge batch of tasty enchiladas tonight and pack that for dinner on those nights to avoid the tasty treats that get laid out on Grad Project speech nights I forgot to add water to my food challenge (trying for a consistent 80oz a day), and as a general update, I'm no longer IF. I've been eating a protein waffle (a bit of butter but no syrup) for breakfast with a yogurt (230 calories). Waffle would be better with syrup (duh), but they aren't bad plain, and it gets me drinking water. Also this yogurt is my new favorite. It ticks all the boxes IN MY DREAM YOGURT LIFE. It's GREEK, low sugar (2 grams), low calorie (80), decent protein (12g), and it has fat (2g). There aren't many flavors because it's new, but hopefully everyone loves it like I do, because YUM!! My workout schedule should be T/TH/F And the book I'm currently living reading is The Handmaid's Tale. I'm only 50 pages or so in, so finishing it for this challenge will be fine. I miss you guys too!!! <33333 Welp, guess I've got to start this day

  16. Blocky

    Blocky does moderately difficult things...

Challenge Wrap up: GOALS No STR goals - still running a moderate intensity program and not expecting any PRs to fall. Don't re-destroy my adductor: +1 CON for a working leg at the end of the challenge. Follow the program without going off book: +1 CON, +1 WIS Submit all my assessments: +1 WIS Do well on those assessments: +1 INT for each good result RESULTS +1 CON for having an undamaged adductor +1 CON / +1 WIS for following the program (this is harder than you would think) +1 WIS for remembering to submit all my assessments (nearly forgot to submit 1) +1 INT for doing pretty dang good on assessments. Everything was above 80% with 1 at 90% and 1 exam at 100%. I'm pretty happy with the result. I'm still settling into a university routine and constantly get sidetracked by other things (having personal training clients at random times does make it hard to stick to a schedule). The only thing I could have done better (even though it wasn't a goal per se) is remembering to do some Russian practice. Also pretty happy with the adductor rehab. I'm taking it a lot slower than I usually would but it seems to be paying off. If I had to give it a score I would say I'm around 70% of the way there. Still get some random aches and pains but it's feeling more stable and I no longer have the constant fear of it ripping apart again.
  17. Cycling shorts will reduce the discomfort, if you aren't already wearing them.

**runs off to find John McEnroe gif**.
  19. On a side note, I'm taking any advice I can find: today was/is another one of these days where I show up at work knowing my priorities (Important and Urgent stuff to do, must be ready for tomorrow morning), having someone on the outside (my boss) rearanging it (my priorities for tomorrow become today's priorities, today's priorities start the circle of being put off 'till The End of Times). Now, my afternoon, which was planned with only one important meeting in it, has become crammed with meetings (small sessions where we go on the field and decide what to do, so not useless at all but still very time and energy consuming). The alternative to having them today would be to delay them 'till The End of Times. I know already that I won't have the energy to work through my daily priorities once the meetings are over because having my schedule torn over like that tends to deplete my daily battery like only 7:30 a.m. calls can. The week is only getting worse from here because tomorrow, I'll have to deal with part of today's priorities and tomorrow's, and it'll go on and on from there. How do you deal with this ? I mean: - part of it is me imagining stuff (there are some meetings that I could not take and the world wouldn't end so, I could technically put more emphasis on the real priorities. - part of it is a problem that incoming calls and emails do pile up and I cannot work through them quicker than they come while also maintaining some time for priority work anymore. - part of it is me being overworked, i.e. : there's definitely not enough time in my schedule to perform everything that needs to be performed and I have to deal with it. - part of it is me being low on energy and torturing myself at night about the things I ought to have done by now (therefor not sleeping well).
  20. Barkeep! Just give me all the coffee so I can make it til June!

    Wobbegong: A Creature of Habit

I'm going to go for my walk now, because I definitely won't once it gets dark. Already my inertial resistance is kicking in, telling me to just stay in this chair on NF. But no. I will walk down to the ocean at least, and then if I'm enjoying life out there I'll do the promenade, and then I can come back and sit in this chair and hang out on NF clean my room. (Just tidy! We can leave the dreaded vacuuming for tomorrow. Does anyone have any insight about why I hate vacuuming so much??) Ready, set, GO!
