The Dadjoke Awakens: Tanktimus Becomes a Parent

It could, if it involved more than one day in the window. As an adult I love that GPS answers this question for me. I like that. A theological dad joke: when asked about my views on the end of the world instead of espousing a premillennial or postmillennial view I tell them I am a panmillennialist. When asked for clarification I say that means I believe it will all pan out in the end.

Oh ok. Nothing wrong with that. Hey Bean <3 don't even worry about it. You haven't missed much here. I've been pretty MIA because of a big work release anyways. The work trip had it's moments and will cause lots of incoming work for us devs

I am exhausted. I might be too exhausted to do anything but feed myself tonight. Crazy.
  7. Days 2 and 3 done, both with EC. I agree that today's was a weird one. I held the plank pretty well, but the back of my thigh started to cramp up on me. Almost didn't make it.

Thanks, Sky. I've missed you too. I was even going back through some of your old challenges rereading some of your old story segments. I remember you introducing yourself by shooting an arrow into the guildhall. I do need to update the last couple of days now. So, here goes... Yes, yes I do. I'm in the same boat. Nice to meet you.
  10. I'm finding it hard to come up with some grand plan for this challenge, other than just knowing I want to get back into regular NF posting. So I'm not going to fret about it, not worry about it being some "grand design" of fitness or wellness. I'm just going to get on with some sh**. Some productive sh**. In the end, hopefully it will end up being a grand plan after all, in a sort of organic, wandering way. Part I: The healthy sh**. 1. Continue to maintain daily meditation habit. 2. Do some yoga/ stretching at least three times per week, for 15 - 20 minutes minimum. Part II: The productive sh**. I have a number of small projects I mean to accomplish that I keep sidelining, or simply forgetting about. I'm simply going to list a few that I aim to complete over the course of this challenge. 1. Dig the drainage small trench along the side of the house (so the water doesn't pool up against the house). 2. Make the fire-starters I intended, for fall camping and wintertime bonfire use (wood shavings w/ paraffin wax, in some form of burnable container). 3. Cut lumber to size for the next garden raised bed (just cut the lumber, assembly can be in another challenge). 4. Finish the current war club replica I am working on (I have a peculiar interest in such things: tomahawks, war clubs, slings, blowguns, bows, and other archaic weapons). Part III: The slightly spiritual/ spooky sh**. 1. I've taken a recent interest into Mayan Calendars (tzolk'in). I don't know if it's for me, but I'll never know unless I put in some time and effort into researching and practicing it. This task is to simply do some research. Google, borrow, check out, if necessary buy some reading material on the subject, and find it what it takes to put it into practice. 2. Be on the lookout for/ acquire some candles and incense for meditation rituals. Let's get on with this sh**!

I think you show great maturity regarding Sra. Tanque's feelings for another man, however fictional he might be. Drive-by yarn appreciation!

@Diadhuit I ordered a copy of the book. I also looked up your name. Irish for "hello", literally "God to you". I really like it. I hope when you see this you have rested well. Shutting down my computer. Going to do the Examen and get some sleep myself.

Sounds like you're doing well so far, Aramis, and I really like your goals. I am very familiar with the shoulder gnome (I call him the Voice) and he's very hard to learn to coexist with. I'm rooting for you in this challenge.

Hey KC, how are things? I'm so sorry to hear about your father-in-law; that's such a terrible loss for your husband and your whole family, even if it was expected. Please remember to take good care of yourself as much as possible while you go through this rough time.

    Burpees, Books, and Brainwork

This might be the most accurate thing I have seen all day. Nope. I refuse. Update, Week 1, Day 2: Burpees: 10 in the morning while outside with the dogs forgot about the last 20; no excuses, just a busy evening and forgot Books: read another chapter of IT listened to more of The Pale Horseman on my commute home Brainwork: got into a deep theological and philosophical discussion with some amazing people, a discussion I am hoping will continue further as we dig deeper. BONUS: went for a 4 mile run down some backroads I had never been down before; my pace was slow, but I managed just over 400 feet of elevation gain and explored an area of town I had never seen before, even though I grew up around here.

    Illumination: The Protector Rises

Today I'm feeling a bit down, for reasons that aren't quite clear to me, and I haven't been very nice to myself about that either; so I'm going to go grab a hot shower and play a little with my new yarn, which arrived ahead of schedule today. My stomach finally started feeling better in the afternoon; I came home and did some yoga, cooked dinner (instead of eating pizza, yay), and watched funny videos while I ate. I'm going to try to get to bed earlier this evening too, because being tired probably isn't helping my mood, and I want to try not to fall asleep during my devotions this evening. I probably won't order groceries tonight ............. but I didn't spend any money on food today, so it's okay if I take care of it tomorrow. This is the yarn I bought (not my picture):

    Jakkals, 2019, nommer 8

I've been thinking about the meaning of laziness as well. Sometimes I consider myself as lazy for putting in a full day at work, going to the gym, but not doing more things when I get home. I can tell myself all day long this isn't lazy, but it feels like I should have gone hiking after running myself ragged at work. Where is the line between being too hard on one's self, and actually being lazy? - Murphy's Roommate
