Talk went good! I'm going to start leasing her September 1st. They were pretty flexible on everything. Grandmas biggest concern was that her granddaughter would still have access to the horse when she was back visiting from school. Which.. Of course I'm okay with that. After the fact, they said if I hadn't leased her they would of had to sell her. so I'm glad they were flexible

Act VII - Harriet Scouts the Lands Beyond the Fortress

YUUUMMMMMMMM. I am honestly salivating from imagining the smell of from the dhal and salad. Good thing I already ate my baked salmon with roasted carrots and beets, or I'd be jealous.
  13. So I let the butcher give me a lot of meat. Okay, that came out a bit off-colour. I meant to say, I asked for 2.5 pounds of lamb and got 3.15lb. I don't really know how much meat is one serving. But I suspect this will do at least 6, if not more. Or is a serving less than half a pound? Did I just buy 50 servings worth of lamb??? I mean, I can put away half a pound. But is that excessive? Dietary guidelines always suggest such puny amounts... Anyway, I need to decide what to do with it. I want to practice baking, but in order to limit the caloric damage I persuaded Mr Harriet to stay home and not go to a restaurant as usual. So I'm cooking a three course meal on Saturday. I have huge chunks of lamb "leg" or possibly shoulder... I should have asked for more detail, but I requested something for braising and that's what he suggested. I was thinking a morrocan tagine with sour dried apricots and spicy spices. I have never made a tagine before, but apricots and spice sound good. Also, I want to make something with pastry, but not puff pastry (that's the next level up) and the blackberries seem nice this time of year. So maybe a pie. Today I made a dhal by letting some spices (fresh ginger, fresh garlic, turmeric, garam masala, cumin seeds) bloom in oil, then gently sweating some onions. Then in with the red lentils and tomato puree and stock (I've made dhal before without tomato, and found it really bland) and let it simmer gently for 40. Fried some cumin seeds, then added some to yoghurt, and some with oil to flatbreads which I warmed up. Made a "salad" with grated carrot, shallots, pecans which I warmed in the pan, cranberries, parsley, and a bit of lemon and oil. Dhal, breads, salad, cumin-yoghurt and a wedge of lemon (please excuse the very ugly grey table of our rented temporary HQ):

    Brogo: beats for brainz

Was it wrong of me to laugh at this? Anyway, when you're ready, a bit later, maybe you can have a food goal that involves adding something in rather than taking it away. So you don't go restriction crazy. Also, "fuck this" is the logical response to a 4am alarm, just saying. Sounds like a hardcore work out. Career crossfit?

    Maigs Chases the Wagon

Wednesday Not a great day foodwise. I had my normal PB&J oatmeal for breakfast, then leftover pizza for lunch. After lunch I was really munchie. I bought some carrots to go with the hummus I had in the fridge but that wasn't cutting it so I ended up getting into the trail mix and had way too much. After work was game night and I had a good dinner of an asian salad mix but then our friends that always bring candy of course brought candy and I ate too much of it because it was there. Because of game night there wasn't really time to workout Thursday Still struggling with food a bit, but the trail mix is now gone (for some unknown reason.... ) so maybe tomorrow will be better. Normal breakfast, leftover Thai for lunch, trail mix for snacks. It was nice enough at lunch that I went out for a walk. I had a dentist appointment in the afternoon and was going to go to kickboxing after but the location was awkward and I just wanted to get home and eat real food so I bought ingredients for chili and had that for dinner. After dinner I decided to go out for another run. I say this every time I start running and it lasts about a week, but when I don't try to push myself it doesn't suck! I basically did week 1 of C25k (1 minute run, 90 second walk). I realized halfway through the first interval that I forgot to put on my PF sleeve (why does my arch hurt?!) but after the second interval it didn't really bother me. I'm going to stretch out my foot and calves and hopefully not come out any worse for wear because of it

    RedStone Frees Her Willy

Thanks guys!! Honestly, since we got the clear to close the tension has really eased off. I think we're just sitting on the waiting game now. The seller has agreed to everything it's just a matter of getting the paperwork done. Good news is that the seller's realtor is back from holiday and seems to be pushing their side of things soooo I guess that's where we're at. (I'm also in a - study about landscape design so I don't do anything stupid the first Summer - kind of place. My pinterest is going ape) And for no reason except I'm glad I found it:

I've only been here since Aug, and don't make it to Concord except for errands and the occasional show. Depends what you're into. Head north to the White Mountains, hike Mount Washington or one of the others, if you like that sort of thing. Doing fine here. My wife started a six-week program with Kenzai, so I've been doing that with her.

Tateman: One challenge left before Vegas!

At the beginning of the year I was inspired and so I bought a poster board size white board sheet. I put trackers for each of my annual goals on it. and I put a bunch of quotes on it. I have it posted in my bathroom next to where I get ready every morning. ..and... I haven't updated most of them in a month. The quotes do help... I need to update it because my goals have totally changed. I'd recommend you just do something simple and post it somewhere you'll see it every day, multiple times a day. Then evaluate it after a challenge and see if it works. I'm personally finding my digital tracker and reminders on my phone work better for me and my life right now.

Cheetah is tired, but that's no excuse.

Sitting in the very back, obviously. :-) Okay, so here's today's official update. Food Good. I brought a ton of freggies to work. I've got radishes and mushrooms and pimento olives and dried apricots and English cucumber. I'm going to end up putting most of it in the fridge for tomorrow and I have no desire at all to raid the snackateria. Victory is mine! Exercise Good. I said anything counts and I meant it. I did like two sets of kb swings and a set of pushups, and that was enough for today. If I can find a suitable chunk of metal that I'm not likely to drop on my head I'll do a few halos to try to warm my shoulder up again. I'm getting excited about next week. I've got Monday and Friday off work because it's our Spring Break week. Tue - Thur I'm going to a professional development conference in Virginia Beach. I love visiting the ocean, and I've got time in my itinerary to take a long walk up and down the beach, so that will be awesome. :-) Last week I got into a conversation with a couple of students about music, and I told them that I didn't really know if I like hip hop or not because I've never really listened to much of it, and they said "Well you should." And so I am. I'm starting in the late 80's and working my way forward more or less chronologically. I wanted to get a feel for the evolution of the genre, and I thought listening to the roots of it would help inform my tastes for current artists. So far, I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. It's been fun to get into something new. :-) I think that's about it for today. Cheers!
