In my case, I can cut them a little slack because there hasn't been good leadership or direction in the areas where we are lacking. On the one hand, you could say if they are properly self-motivated they should be figuring out what to do or asking for help. On the other hand I understand that we have a culture that has developed over years where they genuinely don't understand what the expectations are. So my job now is to set the expectations, communicate them clearly, and teach my faculty how to meet them. It's not a small job, but I think I can do it.

You will need to see. I find that if I train in a fasted state, my stamina does not regenerate as quickly as usual, which gives me problems doing back to back gym classes. Also running on an empty stomach (was tired of stitches), was a spectacular failure for me.

    Holding myself accountable

Yeah I definitely agree with that. When I say I’m trying to be nice to myself it’s not be saying: you deserve some sweets or you worked hard you can have a treat. Its more a case case that I go in the complete opposite direction, I hate myself I get really down for a couple of days at a time. Sometimes when I’m really angry at myself I cancel plans I have with friends and punish myself. I make myself cry cycling through negative thought patterns about how disgusting I am. And then after all that when I’m sad, I eat. And then I’m even more down on myself. Regardless, it’s all stuff I need to work through with my psyc some more, life’s been busy and I’ve put it off.

I'm more of black coffee person but yeah, caffeine does me good before workout. I'm just curious how my performance is influenced by carbs (or food in general). Or lack of it, because for two weeks of vacation I trained in the morning - you could say in fasted state. I didn't noticed any difference in running performance, but my strength workouts were less than spectacular. It might be overall trend, or effect of working out before any food.

Posting it here to put it on record: if I don't go to the vineyard today, I'm a sea cucumber. Don't let the me of tomorrow fool you on that one.

Week Two, Day Five Way of the Adept: Log my eating every day All logged and accounted for, surprised myself with how little I was full by dinnertime. Way of the Decker: Get work done without distractions Work was done and completed, I sent what I was working on to my professor so he can look it up in time for Tuesday's meeting. Way of the Rigger: Track my expenses Wrote it down alright. Way of the Shaman:Animal Care On top of it all, we let the neighbour's cat creep in as we watched to prevent a potential catfight. However, my cat was surprisingly non-territorial and any discomfort was expressed as avoiding the visitor instead of getting aggressive. We're off to a great start and I'm real proud of my catto. Way of the Mage: Buy and read the Neuromancer Had to finish that work paper and send it, so no Neuromancer reading happened. Way of the Face: Contact people at least every other day Took the SRLF to work and hanged around for a bit since she was all alone. Then her colleague showed up and we chilled for a bit, before I left to return home and get my work done. Dude has an interview coming up in English and is stressed out about it, so we agreed to grab some coffee on Saturday and spend some time together while I help him brush up his English skills. It's Saturday as I type this so I'll keep my Shadowrun lore brief. This time, it's the Chunky Salsa rule, a trope/meme that originated from the game's rulebook explaining how grenade damage can bounce around and multiply when in tight spaces, only to end saying "Any situation that would reduce a character's head to the consistency of chunky salsa dip is fatal, regardless of other rules." Essentially, if it feels like overkill, don't bother with hit points. Given the game's available arsenal, you'd be surprised how often this comes up.

Topping: sweet potatoes and bacon, so technically a yes, but not in the spirit of the challenge [emoji5] I am a bit discouraged by the results of me dating though... I'm tired to be alone. Not that I need anyone, but I have lots of love to give and I'm a bit tired of just knowing myself... I know what I want, and I'm not afraid to say it [emoji5] Someone out there will accept my love.

Depending on the pizza toppings, that could still be a yes... Congratulations! I admire your perseverance in this arena.

I'm sorry that the road to recovery is going to be so long. I'm happy that you've figured out the dehydration aspect and are feeling a bit better, but don't feel bad about needing time in your bed fort.

Ditto on the hair. The before was a bit fuzzier so the red and its paler shades showed more, now it's matter so it giver the illusion of being a bit more brown. I like both versions though, to be honest. Oh and don't overthink it. You deserve to treat yourself every now and then. Same with the 3h duration. That hair needs care and that takes time. So do you, after what you've gone through. Tap into your inner druid

Self care when sick lesson learned. I've been so hella dehydrated. I've downed 1l of water in the last hour and I feel quite a bit better. Dumb me overlooked the whole I've been running a litle bit of fever for like, three months, which dehydrates you, as well a some ide effects of the meds I'm on, which also cause dehydration. So I've been chilling out with 2-3l of fluids, when I'm needing closer to 5-6l. No wonder I feel so rough all the time, and my hands and feet are like little ice cubes.

I can't count my local friends on less than half a hand, and they have young families of their own to prioritise. The amount of help/company they can reasonably provide is sooooo limited, so it's not the easiest of scenarios. But they help when they can

I find that I run better should I have eaten carbs the night before but most of the time I don't really bother about chasing that boost. Generally I'm more interested in getting caffeinated with green tea before I lift weights =P That's like no calories lol.

Aramis- you did want to see something closer to my full potential, right? Here's a documented park run. - But 5 km only, on a flat road. Now if I could hold it for 10 km... I actually finished on 28:53, but fiddling with devices took time.

I can only imagine how you feel and it's ok to stop fighting and stay in bed. Just give yourself some time (e.g. 3 days, or how long you think it's appropriate) and then re-evaluate. You are sick and follow your body and your feelings is what you need to do to recover. I felt similarly (but probably way less) when I broke an ankle and was homebound in an empty apartment. And no family around. I soon discovered who my friends are and the real ones came even just to put the trash out, do cleaning and keep me company. I will always be grateful to every single one of them. I am sure you have some of them around, don't be shy in asking!

    Hulkine and the final touch

Hey, hello, how are you? I think it's time to come back again. I was on vacation for 3 weeks (2 weeks in south france to chill) and now I am back again, all motivated. Funny how some vacation helps to get energy back. I have a lot of plans for the next weeks/months (as always ) and I am about to plan all the stuff. Will post it here. Thought about directly getting back to the challenges here, but I think I'll wait until the next one. How's it going with your projects @all? Maybe you could give me a quick overview what happened to you in the past months because I am sure I can't read all the stuff that was posted But will follow your threads from now on again! Greetings

  25. It’s an app that’s called Sleep Cycle that records how deep your sleep is based on how much you move around. Supposedly when you are in deep rem-sleep you breath calmer and move around less. So 50% signifies that I spent a lot of the night in ”light” sleep not fully resting and recovering. And I suppose 0% would be awake yes^^
  26. Thanks for the reply! I’m definitely light sensitive but I do have darkening curtains in my room. It doesn’t go fully dark but quite dark. Gonna have to record some more nights of sleep to be sure how to improve
