Space_Elf
Hi, I hit a real low point again and couldn't be bothered to get a trying done. I'm doing a little better now and I want to start working out again and maybe lose some weight. Mostly I want to lose weight. I feel horrible about how much I've gained in the last few years. There are a few obstacles and I'm not sure how to overcome them. I have a new restrictive diet I need to stick to. No sugar, no gluten, and no dairy. I have really poor self control. I tend to cave every few weeks and eat sugary stuff. I struggle with depression and it can be hard to just get out of bed some days, much less exercise. Keeping a lot of how much I didn't get done is upsetting and I'm even more likely to avoid exercise and posting a log. Any advice would be welcome! Quote Space_Elf, Fallohide Hobbit Level 0. cd667
Do try and be a bit kinder with yourself. What would you say if anyone else told you that thing you said to us? Also, beware of the diet. You say it's restrictive. Is it a restriction you've placed on yourself, or is it medically prescribed? I can understand feeling that it's out of your control if you have to do it, but perhaps you need to find something easier to live with if not. You'll get better results from a consistent small change than enormous changes that are hard to live with. Quote Link to comment
Space_Elf
The diet is medically necessary. Turns out I have some severe food sensitivities, which caused almost a year of constant nausea. I'm feeling better since I cut dairy, sugar, and gluten. Except every so often my sweet tooth gets the better of me. I am trying to be kinder to myself, but sometimes I get so frustrated. Quote Space_Elf, Fallohide Hobbit Level 0.
