Hi peeps. I'm Barbara. I work with Steve, and I'm finally joining the revolution. A little about me:

I am a former Atlanta Rollergirl, with 5 years of hard hitting, fast skating under my belt. I recently retired so I could concentrate on other things, and now I'm all soft & jiggly. I'm looking for a way to stay motivated & keep moving, even though I don't have 200 LB women trying to knock me down any more. I was in the best shape of my life, but I fell into that "I'm burning a crapton of calories every time I skate, so I'm just going to eat whatever the H I want" mentality. Since I've stopped skating, I lost 15 LBs, which is awesome, but a lot of it was muscle. Hence the jiggle. I've got control of the volume I eat (no more 3000 calories a day!) but would like to work on the things that actually make it into my mouth.

I recently got a knee injury roller skating, and am waiting to hear if I need to rehab or if I need surgery- fingers crossed! It doesn't really hurt that bad, but I can't run or squat for a few more weeks, at least. I stopped going to the gym, since running & squats are my bread & butter. I'm looking to build more muscle, keep my weight down, be stronger & ready for adventure! I realize this means I need to get my a$$ back to the gym... Knee injuries are no excuse, are they Steve?

I'm pretty ADD, get bored easily, and have a hard time following directions. I love dancing, running, and general hijinks. I consider sneaking into a cemetery at night & running around exercise. I also consider karaoke exercise, when you're doing it right.

Nerd quotient:

Remember those "other things" I do? I am in an improv comedy troupe and spend most of my time not at work heavily involved with that. I am also an actor (theatre nerd!) & will be trying my hand at stand up in the very near future. Comedy nerd alert!

Babs, I cannot wait to show up to your stand up show. There's another dude on here who does Improv, and another guy who does stand-up here in ATL!

Lots of comedians on here.

To the community: I can attest to the fact that Barb is funny. Really funny.

I'm that guy who does stand-up in the ATL. Please let me know when your set is, I love watching new people join the scene. Where are you going to perform?

Derby FTW! We finally have a home-grown derby team here in Rochester, and I've got about a dozen friends involved in various ways. Me, I've got my season ticket, suicide seats, tyvm =D

I'm also struggling with being active w/ a bum knee. Cycling seems to be helping, as long as everything's adjusted properly-but check with your doc first, of course. Beyond that, I'm still looking....

Great news! Got the clear from the doc to start running & being my crazy old self again! I haven't hit the gym yet- inertia's a b@!ch. But I went to the beach and survived huge waves without any pain, so I'm pumped to get back into action.

transer- season ticket holders are the BEST derby fans. Thanks for supporting your local league!

I still don't know when that comedy show is, but I'll keep you guys updated. And I'll post some pictures soon, too.
