wanna_B_nerd
35:45 is what my watch said which is 6 min faster then I have ever run 5k before! I still dont have an official time, for some reason I did not show up on the grid after the race. I emailed the timing people and hopefully they can figure it out. It was an amazing experience held at Livestrong Sporting Park, a brand new like 200 million dollar MLS stadium for Sporting KC (Kansas City, Kansas) The day was perfect, I wish I had a bunch of pics BUT I handed my phone off to my family earlier then I needed to, to be near the starting line and then beat my fam back to the finish line, they got to see me but were not quick enough to get a finish line pic. It was a truly wonderful experience. Two months ago I weighed 240 and could barely jog 20 feet. Today I weigh just under 210 and jogged 3 miles w/o walking. Something about this site kept me focused. Reading Steves posts, and being able to get advice from the community is all kinds of awesome! Thanks! Quote Link to comment

Kain
Great job! It always feels good to finish a race or accomplish something you couldn't when you were "bigger". I love the feeling. Quote Time to climb. Link to comment

signalguy
Awesome. Now sign up for a bunch more! I'm seriously addicted to the 5k but it's fun to throw some other runs in there. Quote Daily Mile My BJJ Life Link to comment
wanna_B_nerd
It was a butt ton of fun! Kain, no reason to be pc, I was fat, now I'm not as fat and hopefully in another few months I will be lean and mean! Next for me is to start lifting but I'm keeping 5k as a minimum standard for me! Kain
You read my mind, and as a fattie/former fattie, my initial word I typed in was "fat" then decided against it. Way to stay positive. Quote Time to climb. Link to comment
smurray
Awesome job! Keep it going! I also have been enjoying running and seeing my improvements. The 5K races are great, but I have only so much in the race fee budget. I try my best to pick routes that will give me the best "run" for my money or pick the causes that are closest to my heart.
