My wife found this blog about a month ago and I am finally getting around to joining the rebellion. I can't do a pull-up. I will do ten of them.

We have spent the last three or four years taking control of our lives. It was scary. Lots of big changes, mainly in the finances and lifestyle areas, but it is doable. The scariest part happened this summer: in the middle of our world-wide recession, I quit my safe, secure job as a Spanish teacher and we moved. Why? Because we wanted to...

And life turned out to be alright. I'm not chained to my career anymore. Don't get me wrong, I loved teaching. But now I don't HAVE to teach. I can do whatever I want. The next step for me is to figure out what that is, but I know it includes pull-ups.

I want to buy a bike. I used to ride one all of the time and loved it. Not much for hard-core racing, but as for basic tranportation it is awesome.

As for what else I want, I don't know yet. I think that is the base of any frustrations I have: I'm not specific with my long-term goals. My short-term goal for the week is to write out my own epic quest.
