Shajeel
IntroductionThe story begins with me (Shajeel) out of shape, and losing touch with my fiery passion for fitness which allowed me to be in the best shape of my life. The best way I can describe why I failed is that I reached a plateau which was hard to blast through and it was easier to rest, it was easier to give up and become fat again, and I did. But now I want to change that and be in the best shape I've ever been in my life and be able to maintain it for life Thus begins the Never-Ending Journey.... Who am I?I wish I could relate top the D&D culture in this forum but I really can't Haha but I'm a comic book nerd I love superheroes and my favorite hero is Batman. The reason Batman is my favorite Superhero is because he is peak condition financially, physically and emotionally. I am fascinated with achieving that in my life. I want to be able to become a guy who is well rounded in all areas. Why am I doing this?I realized that I wasn't the guy I was a year ago. I have become unfit (Most of my shirts and pants don't fit me) and it's affecting my personal life and professional life. I started a 12-Week Program to get started and the area that I am having a hard time with is my diet. I know making daily entires will keep me accountable to the habits and I will be able to successfully complete my program. When will I log?8PM (But time may change) Quote Link to comment
Shajeel
Week 1, Day 4As I mentioned I have been following a 12-Week Program, and the biggest hurdle which led me to creating this Journal is....The Diet. It extremely hard as I have been devouring M&Ms like a junkie who misses his hit. That's exactly what happened today I come to this forum from a very low place and hope logging it will keep me accountable and help me achieve the goal that I am trying to achieve. Now on to the good stuff - I woke up at 6 Am, and went to the GYM at 10AM - I plan to go to the GYM tomorrow at 5AM as soon as the GYM opens, that will leave me time to go to work, come home (Exhausted) and be able to watch "Adventure Time" with my girlfriend As for the rest of the day, I will be cooking chicken breast for 4-5 days depending on how much there is in my fridge...and That's That! Shajeel
Week 1, Day 5I started my day very early (4:30 AM), well I was still in bed but I got up at 4:55AM sharp and started preparing my breakfast (2 Turkey Bacon and 3 Eggs). Once I was done cooking, I headed to the GYM at 5:30. The workout was intense But I finished every set successfully Now that I was done with my workout the next goal was to stick to the diet. Now the initial plan was that I'd take it easy for the rest of the day but My supervisor called me and said that she needed me immediately at work because *Giberish Giberish Giberish* I thought it was a cool idea But...But...I worked so much that I couldn't say no to the M&M's that I found in my place when i got home. I was exhausted and I needed something. Anyhow I noticed that this week was successful in terms of getting my workouts done, and at the same time I am waking up early (It also gave me a chance to annoy the crap out of my girlfriend who I wake up by carrying her to the bathroom while she's half-asleep and leaving her there till she gains some sense as to where she is)Now I'll do the main thing that I usually don't do - I'll give myself props for going to the GYM early and I'll give it my best for tomorrow Quote Link to comment
Shajeel
Week 1, Day 6Today I was about to get up from my bed at 5:00AM...but I physically couldn't do it. Every muscle in my body was sore from the workout from yesterday and I realize that I couldn't get up, so I decided that I would go to the gym at 10 AM but just like 5 AM my body was still sore so I decided to stay home till 3 PM but by that time my gym was closed and I realized that I won't be able to go to the GYM at all today. But then I realized my pattern whenever I skip my workouts, I have the tendency to skip more often, Since this is the first week I want to set a pattern for the next 11 weeks which is not skipping gym and sticking to my workouts no matter what, that's what I did I went to a gym that was further away. But I got my workout done (Minus the Cardio ) But with all that said this is the end of Week 1. The first week was great in terms of getting my workout done but I wasn't able to stick to my diet at all. So... I want to emphasize something and that is the fact that the next three weeks I will be going hard on my diet and I will definitely accomplish it. I will also make these posts more engaging by posting notes of any books I read or any motivating videos I come across. It'd be like a cool journal of some sorts. Quote Link to comment
Shajeel
Week 2, Day 1So today I was able to complete my workout in time - I have found a few gyms which closes at very convenient timings. Because of this luxury I am spoiling myself a little bit as now I wait till the last minute to finish my workouts, which isn't bad but I have been skipping my cardio sessions. So I have to make my workouts a priority. I noticed that whenever I plan my days in advance, I rarely cheat on my diet or my workouts so I will be planning two days in advance Oh I should also mention that I had a subway sandwich which is technically not part of my diet but.... :-/ As I stated in my last post, I will be making these entries less like generic posts and more like journal entries which will make each and every entry unique and engaging for anyone who reads it so TODAY I have decided to share a small summary/note I made from a cool book called "Psycho-Cybernetics" Quote Link to comment
Shajeel
Week 2, Day 2So today brought back a reality check to what and how I should be working out. First of all if I want the results that I am seeking then I will have to step it up in terms of my diet, now I know I sound like I'm repeating myself but there's a reason behind it - Today I was able to stick to my diet the entire day, I am really proud of it. The reason I was able to do it is because I weighed myself and I saw that I gained 4 pounds since I started this new workout, it was disheartening for me. None of my clothes were fitting me, and I decided to put my foot down and commit to my diet and that's exactly what I did. I will write more about this tomorrow. Oh and I was able to do my cardio as well Quote Link to comment
Shajeel
Week 2, Day 3I cheated on my diet today in the worst way :-/ I ate dunkin donuts, and at the same time I didn't go to the GYM. All this week i have been talking about my patterns and I've found out about my pattern, the weakness i have right now. More on this on tomorrows log, too disappointed to type anymore.
