  1. I walked, stretched and meditated today, focusing on the simple beauty of each. Also got some project and chores done. The Munich house is coming along and we are making some of the last choices about colours and stuff. Some plants are being planted, too. I'm not really doing anything--just letting myself be crashed--but it's peaceful, at least.
  2. Thank you on both counts, though I don't feel the hat is very beautiful. I don't like the yarn--should have trusted what I know and not got a variegated colour--and it was an odd stitch that I struggled to get the tension right on. But I do like the pattern a lot. Maybe I'll make another.
  3. So, definitely not Sauron, then, at least not in his giant flame eye incarnation. Happy birthday! May you have delicious cake that is exactly what you wanted.
  4. Ah. I'm something like 29/41. High waisted is a necessity for me because my hips are not just wide, but high. They just fill all the space, basically. It would undoubtedly be easier to fit trousers if I could lose some weight, but I cannot seem to manage it.
  5. I did meditation and walking today, and stretching yesterday, and focused on the simple beauty of each. For project I watched another Dr K video. For chores I tidied the house. I actually did finish the hat yesterday. So you can knit a hat in one day. I am slowly feeling slightly better.
  6. Thank you, I hope so, too. Did you read the wax and wayne books, too? No octopus; it is named for the venomous tentacula plant. Here is a beautifully photographed example, and also my still-wet hat.
  7. I hate skipping. Twisted my ankle doing it. Probably safer to do it with a pretend rope.
  8. Yes, I've started them. I bought them as a package with the mistborn trilogy. I'm not yet quite as hooked, but perhaps I will be.
  9. That is splendid, my possum. It's even enough to look fantastic, and I love the colour. No one will notice any tiny mistakes. Also I like the folded over brim. My favourite store bought hat has that feature but for some reason the hats I made recently haven't had it.
  10. Men's stuff fits you better? That's definitely not the case for me. It's all too long. And I suppose some of the tops would be fine if I want something long and boxy. But pants? No way. Even women's trousers usually have too large a waist and too small hips for me. It's a start
  11. Oh gosh, I hope the covid was short and you're recovered now? Hmmm. I gave up on wheel of time and started reading mistborn instead. It was a good choice but now they're all gone and it only took like a week. That's one thing I can say about wheel of time; there was always more.
  12. I guess the problem is we all have different ideas of what good colours are. To me, orange and brown are the worst colours. The best colours are: warm or rusty bright red, dark oxblood red, very dark hunter or racing green, a dark blue that heads in the purple direction without being purple, and mustard. White and grey and charcoal and tan are good. Some pinks are okay. Turquoise and magenta may be acceptable as small accents. That is all. But is it just me, or is there more men's stuff in classic colours (navy, maroon, dark green, mustard, charcoal) and more women's stuff in black plus the season's "fashion colours"? Either way I now buy clothes online because I can filter by colour. It's too hard going through a shop and finding something in a nice colour only to find it's an absurd shape (cut-outs, ruffles, cold shoulders) a stupid material, or not available in my size, or stupidly expensive as if it's gloating: "look, I'm the only non-stupid item of clothing in the whole store. No one will be as good to you as I am. You're a loser and you'll never find another shirt."
  13. I somehow also missed what happened to your niece. I seriously hope she has the "never recurs" version. It's crazy how early it gets dark and how late it stays dark here in the winter. That's something I didn't understand growing up in Brisbane where sunrise and sunset only shifted by about an hour each year. The further you are from the equator, the more different your seasons look. Also, what a splendid life hack! Now *that* seems like the kind of protocol I could follow.
  14. Splendid work ❤️ Everything will be fine, I think. And if it's not fine you will learn something and make it better next time. Happy lifting!
