humanperson832
I looove concert photography too! Unfortunately, I never have press creditials so I am limited to fairs and festivals, but capturing the energy of the performers and the crowd gives me such great shots.I actually wrote for a media website about a year ago and kept in touch with my editor. Childish Gambino, one of my favorites, will be coming to Atlanta in June and depending on what my internship supervisor says (may be a conflict of interest for me to shoot for one outlet while interning at another competing outlet), I may be able to use my press pass to shoot the show for that website. I would die. I. Would. DIE. Nothing beats the adrenaline rush of being in the photo pit and only having 3 songs to get what I need.Have you looked into shooting for a website or blog or something? 67alecto
I currently have a cybershot sort-of DSLR (it isn't really, but you can put other lenses on it). I've been using various cybershots for years and have gotten great results. Quote Repairing a lifetime of bad habits... gymell
Nice sunset! Looks like the cyber shot is working well for that. I had one about 8 years ago, before I got my first DSLR. Got good results with it. Quote -- Liz Shameless plug for my online photo gallery Check out my backyard bird feeders Link to comment
bigm141414
Have you looked into shooting for a website or blog or something?Nah, photography is just my hobby. I've got enough to keep me busy with my day job, I couldn't imagine being responsible enough to shoot for a business. Plus there are plenty of fairs and festivals to shoot here in Texas Quote "Pull the bar like you're ripping the head off a god-damned lion" - Donny Shankle Link to comment

bigm141414
I learned this weekend that as my alcohol consumption goes up, my photo skills deteriorate rapidly. andygates
Another Canon fan, but for different reasons: the CHDK firmware hack which lets you power-up little Canon compacts into beasts of unusual flexibility. I use it to give me a cheap and crashable intervalometer for kite aerial photograpy. Just tested this season's rig, with a dull subject, awful light, poor wind and bad camera settings - but hey, it was a flight test. Give me a nice bright breezy morning and some geography to play with and ... mm, I can't wait. Quote Link to comment

Duality
Reviving this old thread because It's already started! I have an XSi, 4 lenses, 60mm macro, 18-55, 50mm (f1.8) and 55-300. I'm just in the starts of it all, but I just keep all my pictures in raw, I don't really post any anywhere, except the few I like on facebook. Like a lot of people, I use my cell phone for most my pictures, but I bring my camera and 50mm each time I go biking juste in case I see something to shoot! I love making pans! Taking a picture of my girlfriend taking a picture at a grandprix! (took this one with my cell, lightroom'd a bit) Just down the road from my house, random walk to the beach, untouched Pan of a shop I needed to go to unbend 17"od x 2"id x 29 feet long tubes for the shop I work for (photomerged/cropped, colors untouched) Remember, these are still all facebook quality! they're better bigger! bigm141414
So I have recently sidegraded (is that a thing, it's not an upgrade) to a D7100 from a D300. It's weird getting used to a new layout of the buttons and menus. But some of the pros are: HD 60fps video (got some of the SSS lifts), use of the ML-L3 wireless remote. The old D300 could only use a 10 pin which is way expensive where as the ML-L3 is like 20 bucks. Very exited about this for night photography. Now I just have to get a laptop so I can do post on my pictures. Quote "Pull the bar like you're ripping the head off a god-damned lion" - Donny Shankle Link to comment

Tilt shift lenses. Yeah LensBaby makes one that is fairly decent for the price. It shifts the focal plane from vertical to some other angle. It's a neat trick. Duality
Did you even do any infrared? I'm gonna modify my XSi once I get a new camera for it! I did these with a burrowed one... I modified the last one to make it black and white instead of the colors like the first one, the focus was way on the end of my nose but I liked the look and didn't manage to get it again while focused haha Quote It's not 80% diet, 20% exercise, it's 100% diet, 100% exercise. Cr33g
Some bloody awesome photos and some very talented photographers... I love photography, but to be honest I'm a massive n00b to it. I think I'm quite good at the "creative" side of photography, but not so much the technical side... I was running around with a Nikon D3100 DSLR (beginner's DSLR camera) but now I've upgraded to a Nikon D3200... it's not that much of an upgrade, but I'm still a beginner and still learning. I was happy with that upgrade. I gave my D3100 away to my mum. My lens' are pretty basic. The stock 10-55mm lens, and a 55-300mm lens. Here's a photo I took when I visited Disneyland, 2012 shortly after Christmas. It was taken on my birthday and despite being a basic photo, it's very special to me. Sorry about the deviantART watermark. I spent a while trying to get the framing right without a tripod, running around Paradise Pier trying to find the right spot. Once I got a good spot, I had to sit and wait for the colours of the ferris wheel to change to something I liked. Quote Link to comment
