Cam-Beul
Hey all, my name is Ahren and I'm trying to be better. I have a long history of mental/emotional problems that have both broken me and hardened me in certain ways. I was technically anorexic for almost a year, and now have frequently low blood sugar thanks to it, and also I almost died. I'm a musician, (occasional) writer, D&D nerd (3.5 ftw), mild Markiplier fanboy, and I love all dogs, everywhere. I'm also a big dorky Heathen who sometimes gets hit in the face by Mjolnir when doing squats. Several years ago, my boyfriend found this site, and I was on here semi-regularly. That was our first attempt to get in better shape and, for what it's worth, it went shockingly well until life happened and we fell off the wagon. Never totally backslid, but we also never really got it back together. Our mutual best friend unintentionally kickstarted us on an actual routine though, due to our shared love of beating the crap out of each other with training weapons (think half-assed HEMA more than boffers and LARP). He's got access to a half-court gym, and apparently loves us endlessly, because every Monday for the past year or so we go out there for 2-3 hours, and go crazy, and it's amazing. Somehow, that helped get me and my boyfriend back to working out more than a few times a month and most weeks, it's 3-4 times. I'm also borderline, and have bouts of unbelievable, unstoppable self-loathing that workout out has (generally) helped to ease, or at least make less frequent. I'm horrible at introductions but basically, hi everyone and I hope I'm not unbearably annoying! 1 Quote Link to comment
JustChris
Hello Ahren and welcome! Loved your introduction post, amde me chuckle quite a few times. And hell, yeah, who doesn't like beating the crap out of eachother! Never tried it with training weapons tho, but HEMA sounds like loads of fun. Even if it is half-assed! Its great to hear that workout out helps with the mental aspect of things for ya. Even more of a reason to do it apart from making dem wonderful gainz! Quote Link to comment
