Fat old Fahrt looking to get back in shape

Recommended Posts

Hello all.

Fat ole fart here. Probably old enough to be a grandparent to most of you, maybe even great-grandparent in some cases. Not really into the whole role playing or leveling up, I'll leave that to you young 'uns.

Anyway, find myself huffing and puffing with the least little effort, and struggling to lift what used to be, like two years ago, fairly easy amounts of weight. What should be an easy 3 or 4 mile hike in our nearby mountains now requires stoping to rest and catch my breath every few hundred yards on mild grades and avoiding anything with moderate or severe grades.

Yeah, I'm fat and out of shape. Hoping there other old folks on this that can create some mutual support for getting back into better shape.

Hey there! I'm 52, I'm not quite old to be people's grandparents'  though I am probably older than their parents, and married longer than most of them have been alive.;)

Glad to meet ya, Elastigirl. I'll be 65 later this year, and enjoying the retired life.

Havent figured out why it's called 'retired.' You spend 40 - 45 years wearing yourself out working, the you stop and get all rested up. Guess it's that, even though we're not working 12 - 16 hours a day for a paycheck, we're still on the go a lot. :stupid:
