Festival/convention planning and organizing tips?

As stated in my Epic Quest, I want to create a teen literature festival in my city. I'm not quite sure where to start, though. Does anyone have ansuggestions for me? A quick Google or two netted me a few articles like these

In organizing anything, at some point, surround yourself with people who know how to do stuff already.

Probably the best thing to do is to go to your local library and ask them. I know the library in my town puts on literature festivals every so often, and I'm sure your library would love this.
