ViperN7
The day has come! I'm finally emerging from the shadows to interact with this community. Hi everybody! I'm a runner, a lifter, and a martial artist. I love fantasy and sci fi stories: reading, watching, playing. I study Mandarin Chinese--that's still very much a work in progress. I'm excited to have a place to talk about exercise, and hopefully other nerdy things, too. Current projects: -Working on my deadlift -Working on my pull ups -Working my way through a Chinese kids book I got from my library. See you around! 2 Quote Link to comment
Artemis Prime
Welcome! It looks like a great list of current projects, and you are most definitely in the right place. I've thought for a while now that kids' books would be the best way to study a language, but unfortunately my library's selection of non-English books is very limited. I've been thinking about it for a while, and I'm glad I finally did it (that goes for both posting here and for acquiring the Chinese book)! If you're interested in finding more books, I'd like to suggest another option to explore beyond your local library. Based on your profile info, you're eligible for a library card from the Free Library of Philadelphia! They have a large ebook collection, including materials in other languages! I heard about it from an avid reader friend of mine last year, and I'm happy to spread the word! Quote Link to comment
