Relic Posted June 5, 2012 Report Share Posted June 5, 2012 I would consider NOT doing the hypertrophy work before the wedding...You want to be fresh and energetic for the wedding.I'm crossfit biased so I would do a short intense metcon 4-10minutes longbut if you like regular lifting better I would do 3-4 sets of however many reps you want, have a set rest time, and only go to failure on the last set.Either way, have fun, good luck, and let us know how it goes. I usually lift for power, but switched to hypertrophy this week to see how it felt. I'm a bit sore which is to be expected, but it's not too bad.I can certainly respect the crossfit bias, but I've never tried it before. Looking at some of the workouts psychos do though...I imagine I'd end up in the fetal position crying in the corner of the gym...that's not a good look for the day of the wedding! =)Will let you guys know, whatever I do I'm sure the wedding will be great. My workout was:Squats, Bench, Deads, all to max triplesShrugs, Strict Press, Seated Row, Inclined, all increasing sets of 10Curls, Pushdowns, all increasing sets of 1520 minute jog.I was tired at the end of it, but am so happy I did it. I felt good for the ceremony, and all the nervous energy was spent.
