How do you design your workouts? (PS, I'm new here!)

Hi, everyone!

I discovered Nerd Fitness when searching Google for ways to design your own workouts. I poked around the site and love what I've seen so far!

I like exercise and sports, and if I could somehow design a plan with activities and exercises that I like/was able to do, I know I would have almost no problems in doing it!

Anyone have any advice for designing workouts?

First off, welcome to the boards! Glad you found us.

Secondly, as to your question the answer is: it all depends on your goals.

A few questions:

1) What do you like doing? Running? Swimming? Lifting heavy stuff? A mix?

2) Are you looking for general fitness or something more tailored to a sport?

3) How much time do you have to dedicate to your workouts? E.g are you busy working 90 hours a week or do you have a little bit more time?

4) What have you done in the past? How has that worked out for you?

5) What is your current fitness level? Noob? Decent? Very athletic?

Answering these will help give you and us some insight as to what you want to achieve. :D
