Sounds like I have a new list of movies to watch!

Anyone seen Megafault? It's terrible! Brittany Murphy was in it. That was the only reason I recognized her when news of her death came out.Talk about bad acting, and completely miscast. She's supposed to be some expert on seismology, but she looks about 12 years old.

Seriously, y'all need to see Annihilation Earth. One of the reviewers on IMDB describes it as:

With an endorsement like that, how can you NOT want to see it!! :highly_amused: :highly_amused: :highly_amused: :highly_amused:

Again, I remind you, disaster movies, or movies that are disasters :)

As the youngsters say these days, this thread is full of win. I came to the realization a couple years ago that I love stupid disaster movies. For a long time I was ashamed of this realization, but I've come to embrace it. When I don't want to think, when I just want to veg out, it's time for some disaster porn!! Megafault was indeed deliciously terribly awful.

I knew I could count on my fellow nerds to join me in my love for stupid disaster movies!

It's fun reading the reviewer comments on IMDB. Regarding 2012: Ice Age:

Please, don't insult your intelligence as I have just done. Avoid this movie like it was your mother-in-law.
My biggest problem is the one plot hole that nobody can close and that is they left Bangor, Maine just as the glacier was arriving and somehow managed to outrun it even though they said the glacier was travelling at 200 MPH. Now I could be wrong but last time I checked, a Ford Taurus was not capable of speeds over 200 MPH, especially on traffic choked and snow covered roads.

It's like these people are expecting an actual plot that makes sense!! :highly_amused::highly_amused::highly_amused::highly_amused:

Ok, I finished 2012: Ice Age. It was terrible. Didn't even follow the normal disaster movie formula. Oh well!

Now I've found this other one called Arctic Blast. The Netflix description:

When a total eclipse of the sun rips through Earth's atmosphere and shoots and arctic blast onto the ocean, it triggers a surge of icy fog that puts the planet into a dangerously deep freeze.

That makes no sense whatsoever!

Review on IMDB:

If you love bad movies you need to see this movie immediately. Right now, today. Arctic Blast is easily one of the worst movies of all time. No question about it. Run out and see it today.

Sounds like a must watch....

Actually, Arctic Blast wasn't terrible. Stupid premise, obviously, but the acting and dialogue were OK, and the plot moved along fine (once you get past the ridiculous premise.) The reviewer who said it was the worst movie in history clearly hasn't seen enough bad disaster movies! I thought it was much better than 2012: Ice Age or Annihilation Earth. .
