CameronHirsch
I've been reading articles on this site for almost 2 years now and while I've always found them inspiring I've also managed to convince myself that I could always start tomorrow. I'm 21,5'9 & 160-ish lbs, I'm trying to put myself through school, and I have been working in restaurant management for 4 years. I was always a bit bulky even as a kid. I'm not sure about my fitness goals, but I don't really care about how many lbs I weigh. I don't like running, but I love to bike. I hate going to the gym but I am comfortable with bodyweight routines. Link to comment
Waltron
Hey Cameron! Welcome aboard! I don't like running either, unless it's because I'm playing a sport. I like where your heads at with not caring about your weight, its pretty much irrelevant. Razor
Biking is easier on your joints anyways, so there's nothing wrong with preferring it over running. Welcome, adventurer! You have NO fitness goals? Not one? Come on now, we can't have that Some basic examples:Being able to pick up your girlfriend or the average girl you might date (or guy if that's your thing!)Being able to do a pullup(s)Run around with your dog or child without getting out of breathHave abs (or an abdominal outline which in my opinion is better), or an adonis beltHave larger shoulders, fill out that medium/large t-shirt you haveBe able to touch your toesBe able to take this pebble from my hand Neutral Good-High Elf Warrior What we move is far less important than what moves us. CameronHirsch
Razor I am still trying to figure out what I'd like to be able to do. I think trimming off some of the extra fat and maybe competing in a few races would be fun. I've wanted to go bicycle touring for a few years, but you have to be in great shape to pedal that far with all your camping gear. My girlfriend is a whole 97 lbs so picking her up has never been a challenge. I know I want to start doing yoga again, compete in an adventure 5k like the warrior dash, go on a cycling trip, be able to do 25+ pullups(I can already do a couple) in a row, get back in school and finish my B.A., pay off my 900$ in debt, and get my class M licence back and another motorcycle, and just generally get into the habit of working out daily instead of every once in a while. I've already created a budget and monthly expense report, I'll have my debt paid off in 2 months. Then I will get my class M on my license again. It's too late to enroll for the fall semester, but I can do spring. There is a warrior dash a few hours away on 9/29/12, that gives me thirty days. I know I won't get first place but I don't want to be last. I'm going to start a progress blog, and keep track of myself. I'm interested in trying a paleo diet. My main reason for deciding to become active in the community after creeping for so long is that I need support and advice. My girlfriend and two of my other roommates don't do much besides eat, sleep, and play video games. My fourth roommate constantly works out, and has a ridiculous amount of trophies for his martial arts training. He is very antisocial though. He did offer me a free month of lessons at his school though, where he is training to teach. I need to refine my goals a bit and make an Epic Quest thread, but this is what I have so far.
