As I get more into fitness, particularly having returned to running regularly, I think this is something that I'm missing. The same old static stretches that we all got taught during school PE Class don't seem to be cutting it anymore. Link to comment

Waldo Posted September 2, 2012 Report Share Posted September 2, 2012 I do basic stretching and shoulder/wrist mobility a few times a week.But more importantly I do Yoga 1x-2x a week. I prefer the long and difficult power yoga stuff (Rodney Yee, Yoga X). A good yoga program will cover mobility and flexibility in all major joints and is very comprehensive. currently cutting battle log challenges: 21,20, 19,18,17,16,15,14,13,12,11,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 don't panic! Animalben Posted September 2, 2012 Report Share Posted September 2, 2012 I have an app called dood stretch which is fairly good for individual exercises and you can press a button to give you a random routine.I would suggest a bit of trial and error with doing some stretches in the areas you would like to improve and a bit of documentation on the results Link to comment

I unfortunately waited too long to take any notice of flexibility and spent the early part of my 20s plagued with patellar tendonitis =(Now, I use a foam roller every morning and night and I perform dynamic stretches at the start and end of each workout. Static stretches (in my book) are pointless, there's no functionality to them whatsoever so I avoid them whenever possible. I also highly recommend MobilityWOD, K-Star (the guy who runs it) really really knows his stuff. "No-one tells a T-Rex when to go to sleep".- Jim Wendler Link to comment

This is exactly what I'm looking for.I suppose my point is this: I - and many others on this board - have seen dramatic gains after following proscriptive fitness regimes of one kind or another. I'd like to follow the same sort of schema when it comes to mobility and flexibility work.Thanks to everyone for recommending the websites/apps so far, if what I'm after doesn't exist then I'll start reading up and try to throw something together using them, but I was hoping that there was a pre-existing full-body routine out there somewhere. nickjw2137 Posted September 5, 2012 Report Share Posted September 5, 2012 I have been doing some static stretches for the last few months because I am trying to work up enough flexibility to do squats. I have a little progress on my static stretches such as trying to touch my toes but i still cant squat and i still have terrible range of motion in my legs. Do you know where I can find some dynamic stretches that will help me be able to squat and give me more range of motion? Also, what is the point of rolling around on a foam roller? Link to comment
