128bits
HiThought it would be polite to introduce myself.I'm in my mid 30's and have been overweight for about 6 years.I've been working on my health and fitness since June. When Istarted I weighed 127kg, I now weigh 118kg. So I've lost about 9kg.I started off with just doing Cardio at the gym and moved on to doingsome random things with dumbbells and machines. However I got turned onto Barbell training last month and have been doing StrongLifts for about 3 weeksor so. I've spent a lot of time learning all I can about weight training. I've bought Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength book and have spent thelast few weeks trying to do a decent squat and deadlift. When I'm not working on my fitness, I'm either programming for my job, tinkering with 80's vintage computers, catching up on the latest films andtv or playing games (of which I do far, far too little, I think its been months).I've lurked here for about a month and you seem to be a friendly crowd,so I've finally registered.Cheers, Link to comment
128bits
I'm currently not very strict with my food selection but I aim for paleoin my food selections. I'm very happy to eat and drink dairy, so probablywon't be changing that. I keep a food diary and count all my calories (kilojoules actually). I use a program called Simple Calorie Counter on Android for easy counting.I tried, myfitnesspal and some others and didn't like them, I found them too heavy weight.I'm eating about 2000kCals/day I think my maintenance is about 3000kCals.I'm eating between 100g and 200g of protein a day. I make it up with a combinationof dairy, protein powder and meat.I'll have some dairy and protein powder for breakfast.A few coffees throughout the day, with one milky latte coffee.A beef salad for lunch, from a takeout place near my workFor dinner I'd have beef and veges, beans and some naughty brown ricethat has been cooked in a slow cooker during the day with no sauces or other confounding factors.Oh yeah, I cheat occasionally eating sweets, pizza, pies and other not so good food, but I always account for them in my calorie counts.I only drink very occasionally, less than once a week (yes really!).I'm currently thinking about upping my Calories since my workouts are gettingharder and I'd like to keep the linear progression of my weights.Cheers Link to comment
