cob
I'm checking my understanding on the subject here. From what I've read/been told/seen, muscles get bigger as a result of exercises which cause the fibers themselves to grow. This causes an secondary increase in strength but it's primarily a size gain. Conversely, Strong muscles form as more muscle fibers grow and work together, this adds a secondary effect of muscle growth but is primarily an increase in strength. Is this accurate or not? If not, please give me accurate explanations plz Level 3 Martial Monk, True Neutral STR: 6.5 | DEX: 6 | STA: 7 | CON: 9 | WIS: 8 | CHA: 6 My First Challenge Link to comment
azsf
seems like you've oversimplified the difference between myofibrilar and sarcoplasmic hypertrophy, which is kind of related to your question i guess? you've just left a lot of stuff out. sadly, there's not really a one sentence answer. check this thread for a bit more of a discussion on the whole thing. Flex Luthor
My question to you would be, why do you want to know? "I like you just the way you are" - Mr. Rogers In Br0din's name we gain. Link to comment
Kirkor
Sounds like a fancier way asking if "toning" is possible? Muscles get bigger when you eat a caloric surplus while strength training. Strength training leads to strong muscles in general --- size comes from food. Link to comment
