Built a charging station

Since I bit the bullet and got a smartphone, I decided I needed a full-time charging station but wasn't crazy about leaving the wires all over the table.

 

I've had the box (which looks like an old book) around for a long time and hadn't done anything with it, so I got a stubby surge protector, and then drilled a few holes for the wires.

 

 

 

Now I can have the back side against the wall so the surge protector cord disappears behind the table and have the USB retracted so just enough is out to charge the devices that are sitting on top.
