Hello, My name is Frod (er.. alias)

Recommended Posts

Random Interests: Programming, Game Development, Designinng overly complex games that never get completed, Being an unimprotant character in a friends movie (some random fight scene), Family(dad, brothers, sister, neice, nephews,), hope for my own family, Ninja Warrior, getting medals/awards, granola, free food.

Brief-ish Long-ish Fitness/Nutrition History: Active, Quiet, Imaginative Kid. Parents divorced. Never had much interest in team sports. Was in pop-warner football (2nd? worst player on team). In Kenpo for 4 years, did fairly well (won some awards at tornuaments). Had depression issues since around 12, had frequent thoughts of suicide (planned, but never attempted). Did think he would live to long, had no concern for health. Had a good metabolism though and was forced bike/walk everywhere. Got low wage job out of high school. Bicycled around 60 miles to work per week. Identified self and personal struggle. Inspired by stunt work, parkour, and tricks. Starting eating healthy-ish, stopped buying junk food. Still had depression issues though, frequently had cars yell at him as he rode to/from work. Mom died of mysterious conditions. Saw effect it had on siblings. Decided suicide (even if it looked like an accident) wasn't an option. Decided to live for them, support them etc.. . Continued working out and eating more healthy. Thought that I could still have a future. Started living more for myself, while still trying to be a good brother. Participated in P90X (twice). Ran local 5ks and a few 10ks, earned medals in the ones that breakdown age group and gender. I also finally got a liscene (motorcycle (stil can't drive a car XP)) at the age of 29 (last year).. so I'm not getting that forced bicycling exercise in (aside from riding my bicycle to the groccery store Saturdays).

Why I'm joining here: I'm participating the Warrior Dash on May 1st. I've been training off and on since March 1st, but I need to working out consistently (running 3 times a week, strength training 3 days, maybe yoga the 7th day). I want to track my workout progress here, instead of on my blog (for various reasons). I was also very inspired and interested in OMFG (I would love getting achivements and getting a repersentation of where I'm at). I can't say I'll be a very active member outside of my own posts (though I enjoy reading other peoples progress when I have time), I hope fact this doesn't offend anyone.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
