Hello!

 

I am a 22-year-old college student looking to live a healthier life. I found this blog about a month ago and it really clicked. It stood out from the other research I had done. I am not overweight by any means, but I want to get some healthy habits started now. I also take medication that can cause weight gain. I thought it wouldn't affect me. I have always been sooooo thin! Low and behold, I started gaining weight and freaking out a little bit. I have wanted to build some sort of exercise into my routine for a long time but could never keep anything going for more than a week or two. This time I have made it an entire month working out (approximately) every other day and eating mostly paleo! Wooot! I even turned my boyfriend paleo because apparently my paleo cooking is fantastic ;) 

 

Anyway, I thought it would be a good thing to become a part of the online community.  I get discouraged because it feels like I am fighting an uphill battle with this medication. I want to keep going, though, and not give up and celebrate my small successes.

The first month is always the hardest, and the fact that you've lasted this long is a good sign.  Many of us ended up here because of medical issues of some kind, but the important part is to remember not to let that discourage you from your goals.  It may make things more difficult, but if you look at it as a series of small goals instead of one massive, ambiguous goal, things get a lot easier.
