Looking to begin my brightest day and escape the darkest night

Hello all I am Green Lantern. I also answer to Hal, or my real name which I will tell you if we become friends. I stumbled across this place by accident and have come to look at things every day since. For over a year I have been trying to get in shape but I have issues with motivation and staying on track so I would love if any of you could help me out with that. I gained the name Green Lantern at a game I play with my friends called Zomb here is our pagehttp://www.facebook....9146248/?ref=ts I use to be very active with them but I ended up losing my job and home and becoming very depressed. I ended up moving to a city too far away for me to afford to go very often and have gained a lot of weight (I am dating a girl who works in a bakery and loves to bake at home too). I hate how I look and am very annoyed by the fact that my favorite belt is too small and my pants are too big... I just dont understand.... any help with diet and workout tips would be great and please help me stay motivated. (if it isnt obvious I have a.d.d so sorry if I have jumped around a lot) If you have any questions about me just ask I am very open but I need specific questions to give good answers.

The first thing you need, if you want to be a ringslinger, is have willpower. Being a Green Lantern is about having willpower, so if you want to earn the name, you have to walk the walk and talk the talk. What would Kilowog say if he met you? Before you do anything, you need to have the right attitude towards it.

welcome to the group! I'm new as well.  that bakery bit is pretty tough.  Does she know about you starting to do this?  I beleive that there are a lot of 'bakery-ish' foods that can be made paleo with some ingredient switches.  There's lot of starter articles around here for diet/exercise.  For exercise I just started doing this:

it is SURPRISINGLY hard.  I do the first 4 movements into a 15 minute workout.  There's also the Angry Birds workout on this site as well which a lot of people like to start out trying. 

 

As for diet, I'm doing something along these lines (not 100% paleo and not 100% tweaked yet so keep that in mind):

 

breakfast-jimmydean egg sausage sandwich (going to try to make a vege quiche once i'm brave enough)

 

snack- homemade trail mix- compromised of peanuts, cashews, almonds, banana chips, craisens, and1 tiny block of hershey super dark chocolate portioned out into little ziploc bags (easy to grab and go for work or whereever and that way i don't just keep eating and eating..)

 

lunch- used a crockpot and made a big roast with just a chopped up onion and some water. shreded it with a fork.  Going to add bbq sauce or a little ketchup to it and have that with a big salad.

 

dinners: porkchops+sweet potato+veg///hamsteak+pineapple+veg///sausage+spaghetti squash+tomato sauce///breadless BLTs(giant head of lettuce as a wrap)

Welcome to the community! It sounds like you're in a bit of the same boat I'm in -- I've been struggling with being slightly overweight my entire life, and never done anything about it. I wish you luck and I can't wait to see your progress!
